Last Monday was full of the most gorgeous sunshine in a beautiful setting just outside of Ingatestone for an 80th birthday party.

The kitchen is beautiful, but the lighting is terrible! Hence the amount of shine on the main dish of lamb loin and garnishes, all cooked in a delicious quantity of raw butter!

This year I rustled up:
-Blinis With Miso Carrot, Lime Crème Fraiche, Sesame + Nori Dukkah, Coriander
-Pulled , Slaw, Pickles + Crispy Onions in a Brioche Slider
All served on the .woodthings platters that you lot kept trying to buy!
I took more food and ran out even quicker! Next year we'll have to bring in the reinforcements to feed you all!
Shout out to .ball for saving the day with induction hobs after ours broke!

Made a Bee cake 🐝
I'm not a baker. Whenever anyone asks me to bake them a cake I send them straight to the talented .k1tchen , but this customer was very last minute and Beth couldn't do it (she's incredibly busy with baking so if you want one of her beautiful creations - book in early!)
So I gave in and made this, it's massive and could probably feed a good 80 people.
Using kilos of butter from , dozens of eggs, and local honey to form the brief of a bee cake, with stripey black + yellow chocolate sponge and honey buttercream.
woodthings even knocked up the awesome wooden cake board especially.
It was fun, but please don't ask me to make cakes, ask Beth (.k1tchen )- she's awesome!
I'll happily cater for a bee themed dinner party on the other hand 🔪
