Happy Valentines to all the incredible Am-Rad crew. A community showing so much love when the world needs it the most. Thanks so much to and the head honcho’s for letting me share this little Valentine’s playlist.
Growing up I was lucky enough to have a Dad that was fully immersed into his music, heavily into his punk, ska, dub and Motown (he was - and still is - a dead ringer for Terry Hall). He has a record room which is literally stacked full of vinyl high from the ceiling down to the floor – all in alphabetical order! I grew up listening to so many genres of music blasting out at high volume from that room, something I’m sure the neighbours will also remember vividly! On weekends I would go with him into town to in Manchester and there would be a stack of records waiting for him to listen to that the managers had picked out for him. This was all such an education for me and even just the vibe of the record shop itself and the people within it showed me how magical the energy of music was, and still is.
