Yesterday I spent the day with the phenomenal face painter Amanda Careford learning more about florals, flourishes and leaves.

Today I spent the day practicing on card. Very therapeutic.

Painted much smaller, these skills will translate so well into creating beautiful new adult eye designs.

A friendly reminder to prospective clients and event organisers.

I’m frequently asked to volunteer my time for free, donate a proportion of my takings, pay a vendor fee, or reduce my hourly rate.

My answer is always a very polite no. This is why…

🎨I am a professional artist and entertainment service (not a vendor), and this business is my income.

🎨This is not my “hobby”. It is my job.

🎨Being an artist and entertainment service is a legitimate career with outgoings and responsibilities.

🎨I cannot offer “free” or “cheaper” services. My mortgage, fuel, training, insurance and my professional supplies all cost me money.

🎨My time, skills and energy are valuable assets. I do not work for “exposure”. I am capable of promoting myself and my service is always in demand. Exposure doesn’t cover my costs.

🎨 I have 4 chosen charities that I continue to support and dedicate any voluntary time or donations to them only.

🎨I value my customers, myself and my business. I am fairly and competitively priced, and I pride myself in offering an excellent quality and reliable service as all my reviews will testify.

Please don’t make us both feel uncomfortable and ask me to compromise.

I love practicing my face painting on paper and creating handmade gifts for people.

My course in .can.folk.it really helped give me the grounding and transferable skills to go into this face painting business.

Great to spend a relaxing day with Kathy from Glitter Faces Essex at Petersfield Village Summer Fayre today.

A much quieter event than expected sadly, but on a positive note really nice to get a chance to catch up and share face painting stories and ideas whilst waiting for the next customers.

Thank you too, to Darcey my hardworking assistant who I couldn’t have done without! We make a great team.

Looking forward to my next event somewhere new tomorrow!

What a very busy but super fun day today at Stourgarden Ltd Onion Farm family fun day. Everyone was super friendly and very complimentary.

It was really great working alongside my painty friend Glitter Faces Essex Kathy too. Such a superstar!
