Ring warming is a lovely ritual which can often be incorporated into a humanist wedding ceremony. 💛

It involves passing the wedding rings around to the guests before the couple exchanges them. Each guest holds the rings for a moment and imparts their good wishes or positive thoughts, with the rings warming as they are held.

This meaningful ritual allows the guests to actively participate in the ceremony, making everyone feel included and symbolising the support surrounding the couple!

In Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Channel Islands, humanist celebrants can marry non-religious couples in legally binding ceremonies.

They're a hugely popular alternative to religious weddings and civil weddings. In Scotland, there are more humanist weddings than Christian weddings!

In England, Wales, and the Isle of Man, couples choosing a humanist ceremony need to go to the register office on top of this.

We're campaigning to fix this inequality and make humanist marriages possible across the UK.
