It’s hard to think that our hospitals make women deliver their sleeping babies in the labour ward, a ward dedicated to live babies! .

Louise Caldwell is currently campaigning for dedicated Miscarriage Units so women can be supported both physically and mentally during the birth of their sleeping baby.

She is looking for as much support as possible on her petition. She has a group set up so people can help her and in just 1 year the campaign has been put into both Liberal Democrat’s and SNP Manifesto! Beatrice Wishart spoke at parliament and as of last week the campaign became Government Policy, part of Women’s health plan!

With softplay not opening for atleast another week in Edinburgh why not book into one of Nurture The Play CIC’s drop in play sessions.

These sessions are where families can pop in to use our resources, meet friends and have a catch up.

Like the precovid times where you could pop in to meet new families, play and enjoy our relaxed atmosphere.

We have a selection of tea and coffee for adults included in the cost of the ticket, plus there will be a selection of cakes available to purchase which are from our Tribe Cafe on Granton Road. There will also be small snacks such as toast and packaged snacks.

Each session is limited to 7 adults to ensure social distancing.

There is a gap of 15 minutes between sessions to allow staff to tidy and clean resources.

Due to remaining in tier 2 we have had to cap these sessions to 45 minutes in length. This will be reviewed regularly and kept in line with current guidance for unregulated children's activities.

We have had a fantastic first day at Scotland's Virtual Pregnancy & Family Fair. 🤩

Gemma Nealon, is a practising midwife, Hypnobirthing teacher and perinatal trauma therapist, who will be speaking on our Main Stage at 12noon. She will share her three steps to a positive birth and explain the basics of Hypnobirthing and why learning these techniques are crucial if you and your birth partner want to achieve a positive and peaceful birth in today's birthing culture. Fantastic news today that parents with little ones under 1 can now have people in their homes to help support them. Having a baby is hard enough, I can't even imagine how stressful it must have been for parents of lockdown babies. This is definite progress! 🎉

It doesn't seem that long ago that my youngest was a tiny baby. 😭
