Humanists UK has high standards and we all have to undergo periodic observation from a peer. It's always good to observe other Celebrants and visit sites I might not normally attend in the course of my work. Nicola was great yesterday and I always learn from watching someone else in action.

Taking a well deserved break to attend the Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) to compete in our annual convention with The White Rosettes - amongst other things. Looking forward to catching up with friends and lots of singing! Louise M Williams

Tomorrow, many of The White Rosettes (the chorus I sing with) and other barbershop singers start their journey down to Bournemouth for the LABBS - the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers Annual Convention, which will be held at the Bournemouth International Centre this weekend.

I'm looking forward to catching up with fellow singers and meeting those new to Barbershop.

An ex-White Rosette penned this a couple of years ago on our last trip to Bournemouth:

The world will never forget what happened 58 years ago today at Aberfan.

The Aberfan disaster was the catastrophic collapse of a colliery spoil tip at around 9.13am on 21 October 1966 which cost the lives of 116 children and 28 adults.
