Encouraging Wildlife in your Garden
Our Teddington Society Horticultural Group is organising a series of evening talks for everyone interested in gardens and gardening.
For our first event, we’re thrilled to be able to welcome Andrew Halstead, author, lecturer and retired Principal Entomologist for the Royal Horticultural Society. Andrew’s talk is entitled “Encouraging wildlife in your garden – how you can develop your garden to benefit wildlife without turning your garden into a weed-filled wilderness.”
Our gardens play a huge part in supporting UK wildlife at a time when many individual species are at risk and in decline. Biodiversity is essential for our life on earth. As gardeners, there’s lots we can do to encourage a wide range of animals, plants and organisms into our gardens – and still make them beautiful. Please do join us to find out how.
The talk is being held at 8pm on Tuesday, 3 October at the Teddington Constitutional Club, 5 Stanley Road, Teddington TW11 8TP. The function room will be open/accessible from 8pm to take your seat. The talk will start at 8.15pm and last about an hour, with time for questions. There is a bar at the Constitutional Club where you will be able to purchase drinks before and after the talk.
Entrance fee is £5 per adult. You can purchase a ticket in advance on Ticketsource, or on the evening at the venue, before the start of the talk (card only please/no cash accepted).
