On the 6th and 7th of March the Hessle Town Hall will open its doors to beer and cider revellers from across the region when it plays host to the fourth Hessle Craft Beer and Cider Festival.

After the massive success of the last 3 years the Hessle Craft Beer Festival is again promising to be the biggest beer and cider event for this part of the region. This year organisers have a few new additions to the festival including for the first time an exclusive Yorkshire based cider assortment, the strongest beer for Hessle yet at 9.2%! Some Saturday giveaway’s! And the much-celebrated Sons of the North headlining the opening night.

Festival goers can expect a repeat of the same quality and range of interesting drinks from Local Brewing heroes, a great selection of session ales, soft drinks and snacks, gourmet burgers and wood-fired pizza!

Paul East Festival organiser said;

“For us Hessle just gets better and better each year! Last years event was so well supported and the atmosphere was just brilliant! The Hessle Beer Festival is properly the start of the local beer and cider festival season, spring is in the air, lighter nights and the best beer and cider in East Yorkshire flowing! We really do love it! And you can see how much the local community do too.

We hope that this year will be the best festival yet. We think the beer selection is spot on and we are also excited about our 100% Yorkshire cider bar! There are more and more local cider producers popping up and what we are keen on is offering ‘real’ cider… It turns out that most of the craft cider on offer today is made from concentrate with lots of preservatives added! So, with the help of Colemans Cider and Hedge Hoggers Cider we are
please to be able to offer a full selection that is both locally produced and naturally pressed from Yorkshire apples and fruit.

One of the things we really like about the festivals we run is still how many people attend who have never ever set foot in a beer festival and then to see how much they then enjoy themselves! Of course, we do get many people who have a genuine interest in beer and cider and want the opportunity to try drinks they wouldn’t normally find in the supermarket or pub. But for a growing number of punters the beer festival is a great opportunity for the local community to come together, have a few drinks, listen to great music and re connect.

Lastly, we have some brilliant news for the Saturday! The wonderful Pipers Crisps from across the Humber have asked if they can support the festival by offering all paying guests on the Saturday some free Pipers crisps! Including a chance, they might bring along their newest flavour crisp for punters to sample! We all know that beer and crisps are a match made in heaven and with Pipers being by far the greatest local crisp we are rather excited!!

This year’s festival is being sponsored by local, independent, home improvement specialist, Glazing. With 25 years experience, the firm delights homeowners with its personalised service, attention to detail and stunning results.

MD, Edward Wheldon, remarked:

“WGS Glazing champions local community and has a loyal customer base in Hessle. We therefore jumped at the chance to give something back to our neighbours by supporting this year’s festival. It is good to be able to raise awareness of the five-star service we offer, whilst partnering with such a popular and quality event. It will be a great local show case for our beers and like other festivals we hope the Hessle Beer festival is a great success.”

We have had a few people ask if it’s ok to bring children... So as good festival organisers we thought a good idea to let you all know!

Basically the Saturday afternoon session is absolutely fine for you to bring children.

Only those adults who are drinking need to pay for entry. Which is at the reduced rate and is pay on the door.

Food and soft drinks available all day - so ideal if you wanted to come early and grab some lunch 🙂

Music starts from mid afternoon and we also have a little treat to announce for the Saturday with some free giveaways! And let’s be honest we all love something for free!! More details to come soon....

Oh and if you wanted to come on the Friday night for the opening event and see the fantastic Sons of the North! I would get a move on!!! For those who cane last year you will know we hit capacity on the Friday and with a week and a half to go we have now sold more than we did this time last year!! So don’t miss out!!!

We absolutely hate having to turn people away so please get your tickets before they all go. Available on the website and a limited number available from the Town Hall.

Oh yes.... we can now confirm that the 2020 Mighty Hessle Craft Beer and Cider Festival will take place on the 6th and 7th of March!!!

Tickets will be on sale very soon from the website and from the Town Hall.

What to expect???!! Well it’s very much business as usual with a fantastic selection of craft keg, cask and real cider... along with the usual eclectic mash of great music and festival food.

It’s the first beer fest on the local calendar so we like to kick things off in style! Last year was one of the best opening nights we have ever had and we are hoping for more of the same!
