Giddy, swooning, gobsmacked, delighted ✨

Just a few words that go some way to describing how we were all feeling scrolling through 's unbelievably beautiful captures of our 'beach play' at Seacliff last week. Best mail day ever!

The world through Éva's eyes is a uniquely magical thing. She captured our swishing miscanthus, lapping asparagus ferns and bracken, and quirky annual chrysanthemums so truly to how we saw them ourselves, that we wouldn't have thought it possible. We knew her images would be amazing, but ahhh, they are sublime.

There were many of this emoji 🥹 flying around our WhatsApp chat earlier. We're grateful to call Éva our cherished pal and that she made this day part of her Scottish holiday. Let's do it all again. Cake included!

Whilst a flurry of more wintry wreaths have already started appearing all over these grids, this coming Sunday we'll be running a charity workshop at focusing on wreaths of a more autumnal nature - the third of four seasonal workshops we run at the garden throughout the year.

Our little corner of is part of a wonderful and much larger community resource, with the flower farm sitting alongside a whole host of neighbours including a kitchen garden, an apiary, a mushroom farm and a green gym.

This year marks ten years since the Friends of Granton Castle Walled Garden was set up as a registered charity with the aim of restoring Granton's "Forgotten Walled Garden" garden to productivity. Since then the Friends have helped so many people to share in and enjoy the many health and wellbeing benefits that a green garden space can bring. This workshop - and all the seasonal workshops we run through the year - offer a chance for us to say thank you to the Friends of Granton Castle Walled Garden for all the work they do and an opportunity for us to help them raise money so that this little green space can be kept alive and growing for years and communities to come. We'd love to see you there.

Due to popularity we've added another wreath making workshop to our calender!

Join and for a joyful afternoon of festive wreath-making; a perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit and create a beautiful and textural winter wreath to take home with you.

The workshop will run from 2pm until 4.30pm on Sunday 1st December - a chance to gather together, warm those cold hands and get inspired for the festive season ahead.

Whether you're a seasoned wreath-maker or a complete beginner, we will provide step-by-step guidance to help you create stunning wreaths in our signature bountiful, wild and natural style that will add the perfect festive touch to your home. We'll provide all the necessary materials, including a variety of fresh wintry foliage, textural stems, and other decorative elements all sourced from our either our own garden in Edinburgh or from our network of local Scottish growers. Each wreath will be perfectly finished off with a sumptuous hand-tied ribbon, ready to adorn your door.

We all took along autumn goodies - our buckets contained many shades of yellow and brown, and Paula’s collection included very amazing grape leaves.
