Mary Barbour (1875-1958) was a political activist best known for her leading involvement in the Rent Strikes of 1915 that led to legislation clamping down on unscrupulous landlords.

Bruin the Bear.
Bruin the Polar Bear was brought to Dundee by whaling ship in 1878. He was exhibited in the town centre but escaped causing some considerable consternation. He allegedly was caught when he saw himself in a mirror and stopped to admire himself !
The statue was unveiled in Dundee in May.

Originally built circa 1200, Saint Andrews castle served as a bishops palace, a fortress and a state prison. It was in use until 1689. Archbishop Patrick Graham was even incarcerated in his own prison having been declared insane !

Independence Day Frogs

The pond is almost empty but the frogs were still out in force. One of the impacts of cultivating a wildlife friendly garden is that snails feel completely at home ! Mind you the hedgehogs appreciate them.
It may only be me, but if you stare inside the foxglove do you see something sinister ?

The last of four murals for the Charity Art Project at the Rogano sees artist Katie Smith capture 'Jazz in the Oyster Bar' reflecting the restaurant's iconic Art Deco styling. The restaurant is currently undergoing refurbishment.
