This York flower dream is real 🌿 Last Friday I had the absolute joy of creating a floral arch for York Fashion Week at the Guildhall - the main runway venue for the event, and one of York’s most beautiful historical buildings.
💚
Our arch transformed the entrance for three days. It featured lots of delicate roses and delicious butterfly ranunculus, weaved in amongst fragrant, Yorkshire-grown narcissi and tulips, as well as birch, viburnum and blossom.
💚
A massive thank you to my team and shout out to local York tree surgeon Jamie J. Ulliott Tree and Landscape Services for sourcing me the most wonderful branches 🙌🏻
💚
The arch was a joy to plan and create, not least because I like a big installation, but also because I love what an event like York Fashion Week brings to our city. So much inspiration, ideas, people and colour. The team is incredible and I can’t wait to see what they do for Part Two in October 🌿

Ever fancied a spot of spring wreath making?

I'm going to be running six workshops in March and April, where you can take some time out for yourself and learn the skills of seasonal wreath making - either to adorn your front door or your dining table.

Each class will include a beautiful, seasonal choice of fresh flowers, blossom, plants and foliage, as well as all the tools you'll need and plenty of tea and homemade cake.

The workshops are being held on three consecutive Saturdays - 18th & 25th March and 1st April - and will take place in my York studio.

Click the link below to book your place. I would so love to see you there!

I have some very exciting news to share with you all. Next month we will be leaving south-east London for a new life in York! As some of you know I was brought up in York and will bang on to anyone who’ll listen about how brilliant it is. My family are all there and now is most definitely the right time to head back home and have new adventures.
I’m very much looking forward to watching my husband and children build up their drastic intolerance to the cold, and finally teaching them the right way to pronounce ‘grass’. Amongst many other things! Building my business there is going to be an amazing thing… I might even manage to teach a few wreath workshops once we’ve moved in! So spread the word, if you know anyone who is planning a Yorkshire wedding or event in 2023 send ‘em my way! 🤍🤍🤍

Think of that person who keeps you going when things feel really tough. The person who always finds time for a chat, who has your back, delivers wine to your doorstep, who loves you unconditionally. My new Us bouquet is for them. To show that special one you’re thinking about them, even when you can’t be together.

Us is the latest addition to my dried flower boutique. It features dramatic straw flowers, safflower, spray roses, bunny tails and yellow craspedia pompoms.

Very excited to share that I’ve been interviewed on a podcast 💛 I chatted to the ever lovely Rona Wheeldon Flowerona for her new podcast My Small Business & Me. We talked about my career story, how I set up House of Dandelions, what my business name means to me, and how I run the biz around my two small children 💛

I also talk a lot about wellness and learning to look after yourself as a ‘solopreneur’ (I’m still learning!) It was a lovely experience, and I genuinely hope what I say will be useful to anyone with an entrepreneurial streak, or who is juggling a business with parenting.

I’ve put a link to the episode below. You can also listen via any podcast platform or on Spotify - just search for My Small Business & Me. Thank you so much Rona for having me on 💛🙏💫

Our DIY Christmas wreath-making kits are available to buy now! I'd usually be getting ready for my festive wreath workshops at this time of year, but instead I've had a lot of fun planning these kits for you, so that you can get your craft on this December and enjoy making a wreath in your own home. If you're keen to buy a kit here's what you need to know...

✨ Kits cost £42 and are available to order from my online shop www.houseofdandelions.com/shop

✨ You can also find five festive pre-made wreath designs there too if you want to take the work out of making your own this year!

✨ Kits and wreaths are available for collection from me in Beckenham or local delivery only. More detailed delivery information can be found in the online shop.

✨ Each kit comes with everything you need to make a wreath at home. This includes a ring base, moss, fresh greenery, wire, lots of festive decorations, a little dried flower surprise, and a hanging ribbon.

✨ You will also receive an email with a link to a video where I will take you through the making process step-by-step.

✨ All you need to provide is a pair of sharp scissors and a large glass of something merry!

✨ Any questions don't hesitate to message me or email [email protected]

News from the House of Dandelions camp... I’ve opened a dried flower shop! With the weddings and events calendar looking a bit empty at the moment, I needed to come up with a new, colourful project to keep my business on track, and here it is. 🌾💕🌾 Bright, joyful and calming collections of dried blooms, arranged in my signature wild style. You’ll find bouquets, posies, wreaths and more to buy online, and everything can be delivered nationwide! It’s really exciting to have a new, if somewhat unexpected, arm to the business, and I can’t wait to see where it goes. Here is the link to the shop:

Oh and I’m running a little competition over on Instagram at the moment to win two dried posies - it’s running until 5pm today so still time to enter 🌾

Sharing these joyful photos of Lizzie & Chris’s September wedding with you today because they are so uplifting and gorgeous and a reminder of what’s important in life (family, love, colour...!) I was tasked with creating a magical woodland feel in the church, achieved via a huge floral arch, lots of British foliage and ferns, and mini woodland meadows placed down the aisle. I (really) wish we could do it all again... These photos are a mixture of my own and professional shots taken by Camera Hannah 🌿

There is nothing quite like creating wedding flowers in 36 degree heat to test a florist’s resolve ☀️☀️☀️ Thankfully, these beauties for Kate and Ahsif held up like champions. I employed every trick I could think of to keep them (and me) cool, including a stint in the fridge (not me - I wish ❄️) and thankfully it paid off. Kate and Ahsif waited a long time to get married, and a few weeks ago we still weren’t sure yesterday would happen. But it did, and I am so happy for them both. Congratulations guys! 🥂

Morning folks 👋 Just popping on here to let you know it’s Garden Day UK - a day to down tools and appreciate anything and everything about our amazing gardens. I know mine has been an absolute godsend on so many levels this year, and I feel very lucky to have it. Everything in this flower crown (cow parsley aside) came from my little south-east London garden; it feels good to be celebrating it on my head! (I listed the ingredients over on instagram if you’re keen to know what’s in it 🌿) Happy Sunday x

House of Dandelions

Can’t quite believe it’s taken me this long to post photos of Christina and Eugene’s wedding last month - it already feels like a lifetime ago. Romantic and elegant sums up their gorgeous brief. Given it will be my last wedding for a while, I am so insanely grateful I got the chance to play with these beautiful flowers 💗🌿🌸

Congratulations to Katie and Glenn, who got married last Friday at the gorgeous Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. It was the first House of Dandelions wedding of 2020 and what a way to kick things off!

Their brief was botanical and boho with a lush, woodland feel. I combined lots of ferns with seasonal anemones, ranunculus and wax flower in shades of pale pink and burgundy.

There were lots of foliage-only elements in their scheme - the wedding arch; table plan and welcome sign décor; and the table garlands, which we wove between lots of gorgeous candles and small bud vases of flowers.

Such a joy to be a part of this wedding. My favourite shot is of Katie holding her bouquet before the ceremony began. Stunning!! 💕🥂❤️

Same... same... just a bit more 💓

💛Announcing a very special Mother’s Day flower workshop💛 Come and join us on 22nd March and make a hand-tied spring posy with a gorgeous selection of seasonal blooms. I’m going to be at from 10am with the awesome Ibby from to show you how it’s done. We’ll start the morning with a glass of prosecco and after a quick demo you and your mum will get to create your own spring posy bouquet 💐 As an extra treat, everyone will go home with a bespoke Pea & Me floral print to remember your day together. I am so excited about this! Maybe because it’s been such a grim day in south-east London and I cannot wait for spring to be here! To book your spots follow the link in my bio and any questions feel free to email or DM. We would love to see you there 🌼💕✨🥂🌸

06/01/2020

🌿 Happy 2020 folks 🌿 It feels really good to be back planning projects for this year. I’m going to be at my desk this week revisiting all the gorgeous wedding briefs I have coming up and updating the 2020 workshops calendar with new events. Might even try to squeeze in some seed potting time in the garden if the weather behaves. I’m so excited to grow House of Dandelions this year and see where the flowers end up taking me!💛🤍🧡 📷 by

My own best nine of 2019 🍑Without doubt this has been the best year yet for me and my flower business. So many beautiful blooms! 💗❤️ I’ve learned from some brilliant people in the business and landed design briefs that have pushed my creative cells in a whole load of new directions. Thanks all of you ✨See you in 2020🤍💕🌿❤️

23/12/2019

And time to rest 🌿 The tools are down, the workshop is clean and we have made it to my home turf (albeit in an epic nine hour car journey) 💚 Ready for the festivities to begin in the Yorkshire Dales ✨🤍🎄 @ Arncliffe (parish)

19/12/2019

As floral designers we are often banging on about the latest wedding flower trends and which colour palettes are in vogue. But there is one trend that is set to stick around in 2020 and beyond - sustainable floristry 💚🌿💚 The movement is gaining momentum all the time, and the more we talk about ethical practices in floristry the more our clients will come to us wanting sustainable ideas. It’s at the heart of how I design, and with lots of my 2020 wedding couples already asking about ways to make their flowers more ethical, I can’t wait to create more installations like this next year. Natural, seasonal, British grown and foam free 💚

17/12/2019

Things are starting to feel a bit clearer and cleaner in the studio now 💛 After weeks of losing multiple pairs of scissors, several keys and a little bit of my sanity under huge piles of spruce and layers of moss, I can see the floor again. Just one little project left until I lock up the studio for the year...
