Happy international women's day 2025. We're so lucky to be surrounded by some extremely talented women always there on busy wedding prep days in the studio, volunteering on the plot, lending an ear for a natter and generally supporting us on this journey. So a big thank you to you all and we look forward to 2025 with you.

We'll be sowing more antirrhinum this week. The tiniest of seeds produce one of the seasons best staples. Our autumn sown seedlings are starting to bulk out now that the light levels have slowly started to increase and we will follow this sowing with one more helping to produce a nice steady supply for several months.

Shovelling s*!t is the never ending job on the plot. We've got yet another raised bed to fill and get ready for all of our autumn sown hardy annuals. We're in desperate need of more space in our seeding tunnel as we are about to embark on our next round of seed sowing. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks.

We've been pruning the roses this week. It's taken them a few years to recover from a year of being eaten by dear followed by another of being attacked by caterpillars but they are looking strong and healthy and we're looking forward to them waking up from a chilly winter and stealing the show this summer.

When I say we I mean our amazing mum who's help we couldn't do without. ❤

Checking out for a few days over Christmas to spend time with friends and family.

We've had the winter solstice and from here on in, the days get longer and the nights get shorter, and even though we still have January and February to get through we will also relish the chance to take things a little slower and make plans for 2025, tidy up the plot and get the small polytunnel ready for the next round of seed sowing.

Autumn on the plot. It’s been a busy couple of months starting with a lot of September rain and what we thought was going to be an early end to the season. But October pulled through and we’re so grateful that the land dried up enough for us to build and fill 2 raised beds. Half of the dahlias have been lifted and moved and hardy annuals planted out. We’ve still got another bed to build and fill, the second half of the dahlias to move and all of our bulbs to plant but it feels like we’ve been making progress. #flowersfromthefarm #seasonalflowers #britishflowers #hampshireflorists #autumn #autumnflowers
