It’s not the prettiest but our fencing is going up and we are learning a new skill.. which we’ve quickly realised we don’t enjoy!

This week is feeling a little overwhelming and when one task is finished it feels like there’s a million more to go. However, every week we are making progress and the fencing will make a huge difference 🐰

Well we are speeding through July but I’m not sure the sun got the memo. The farm is getting a good water regularly which is great when we haven’t got our water infrastructure in place yet!

Things are excitingly busy behind the scenes but it does mean we are a little slow with admin so feel free to give us a nudge if you’re waiting on a reply.

If you’re free this Saturday and want to come give us a hand with rabbit fencing in return for a picnic on the farm and a bouquet of snapdragons let us know 😂🌸

We have harvested over 200 stems this week of our first successful crop in abundance on the farm, Antirrhinums commonly known as Snapdragons 🌸

Sometimes the wins might only be small on the grand scheme of things but we are celebrating this success! We will have bunches of snapdragons available at tomorrow 10-2 along with mixed bouquets of British flowers.

Every time we get a gallery link it’s like Christmas Day! Being the florist usually means we leave before all the action so looking through the preview is an opportunity to see our couples enjoying their day. We also LOVE seeing our flowers and the results 🌸

Alex and Jules preview blew us away with .and.co beautiful images capturing their wonderful day! 🙌🏻

The colours of the bouquet worked beautifully with Alex’s incredible dress as well as the industrial vibes of the venue. Alex selected an ivory silk ribbon from our favourite small business supplier 👌🏻

It’s British Flower Week! We will be posting everyday sharing more about us, our farm, community and how Greystone Flowers came to be!

Here’s a little throw back to this time last year when Megan attended a fantastic workshop collab between Karon and Laurenne at Happy Roots Farm.

We created a tablescape and bowl arrangements using lots of British flowers and foliage including Laurenne’s beautiful David Austin roses. Karon champions British flowers in her work and has been part of as a florist. Laurenne not only brought her floristry skills to the workshop but her knowledge as a flower farmer talking through seasonal British flowers and how to go about sourcing them. Jo .free.range.family captured the day 📷 🙌🏻

The community has a wealth of knowledge, experience as well as support for flower farmer and florists using British flowers. Give them a follow this week to see what growers around the UK are getting up to!

Tomorrow marks the start of British Flowers Week 2024 🇬🇧 Our farm might not be pumping out the blooms just yet but it will definitely be a week to celebrate British Flowers and all that goes into them.

We’ve had a little breather and we’re gearing up for a week of flowers! Our website will be back open tonight with fresh flowers available to order 🌸

We have a private workshop on Wednesday, wedding proposals to send out, biennial seeds to sow, more flower beds to make, supports to go in and the list goes on! We will take you along this week with us and show you what we’re up to 👩🏻‍🌾👩🏻‍🌾

How is it Thursday already?! We have had a day of catching up on jobs like potting on, sowing seeds, making up orders and we did some jobs on the farm as well as a final wedding consultation with a June bride. Some days the to do list feels long and can be overwhelming but reflecting on what we have achieved feels good 🙌🏻

We will be at pop up market this Bank Holiday Monday (27th) 12-4 which is very exciting! Europe’s biggest food hall in the heart of Shefffield which has opened today and looks amazing. We will be bringing fresh and dried flowers along 🌸

We had a sell out at today, the sun was shining and we had a stand full of seasonal British flowers 🌸

We topped up our own flowers with a bucket of blooms grown by Gemma in Chesterfield and some extras including those beautiful coral charm peonies from British wholesaler 👩🏻‍🌾

We love seeing our regular customers, meeting new ones and seeing everyone’s enthusiasm for what we do! It’s also a great opportunity to network with other small businesses and spend our earnings supporting them ☺️

We are so grateful to Sarah who is a massive help running our stand, selling the most amazing baked goods decorated in British flowers and keeping our sugar levels topped up. Give her a follow if you don’t already, she does postal brownies even if you’re not local!

We are having a few months off Pollen market as wedding season picks up but we will back in September with an abundance of summer flowers including our favourite dahlias. In the meantime you know where we are if you need fresh local flowers in your life 🌸

Our existing beds are full now with lots of potential and we picked the first few stems from the field today. The grass is growing quicker than we can mow it and we have lots more on the job list but we’re chipping away.

With the support of those who have joined our CSA scheme we are investing in our plant supports, making more beds and building larger structures like our compost bays which will also help us collect rain water. It’s also time to start ordering spring bulbs!

We have a couple more spaces for our CSA which will start in July with lots of flowery benefits but also helps us with the front end costs of a establishing our farm. Drop us a message if you’d like more information.

We have a busy Sunday at Pollen Market in Sheffield, it’s forecast to be a glorious day with lots of great small businesses! ☀️

This weeks flowers included this mini bridal bouquet for an official registry office part of the wedding before the main event. Beautiful scented peonies and stocks along with ruffly ranunculus, alliums and tulips all in white. She headed up to Newcastle along with two fresh flower door wreaths to join the wedding celebrations!

I will be catching up on admin over the next few days whilst listening to doctors orders of taking it easy. We have a quieter week next week but will still be offering fresh flowers if you need them. M 🌸

We love female corsages for the wedding party, they’re a great way of identifying those important people on your wedding day. Ours come with a magnet attachment to avoid having to pin on delicate fabrics and can also attach to a handbag 🌸

We have a busy week with a DIY wedding delivery, a small wedding including fresh door wreaths and our usual gift bouquets! We have lots of amazing British flowers we will be using this week and our first flowers from Gemma of the season 🙌🏻

Vicky is taking some well deserved time off to attend a wedding so we maybe a little slow responding to enquiries and messages this week.

We’re so grateful for all our lovely customers keeping us busy! There’s no day off running a small business but we’ve both had some family time over the bank holiday which is great.

We had a very productive farm day today and the sun made an appearance! We had our trainee with us, Safi who made a good start on our ornamental bed with Vicky. We also did lots of planting before we headed to the workshop to cut and condition flowers.

The dry weather meant we could get the grass cut! Andy and his team keep the church grounds looking great and he will be cutting our grass with his ride on mower 🙌🏻

We have picked the last of our tulips 🌷 It’s almost time to think about getting our dahlia’s in the ground and we are still sowing to provide us with flowers throughout the season.

Fingers crossed for better weather tomorrow than is forecast to help us have another productive day 🤞🏻

We have LOVED looking through Charlotte and Brandon’s preview from their beautiful wedding day last Saturday.

What a pleasure it was to work with Charlotte to pull together her floral vision for her day which included inspiration with colourful spring flowers which worked perfectly with our tulips and ranunculus.

Everything about this wedding was beautiful, from the bride, the dress finishing with the stunning venue! We hope we get to flower Hooton Pagnell Hall again 🌸

We are not quite ready to let go of the Hellebores and have our last few stems with they’re beautiful seed pod centres in our bouquets this week. This bouquet has lots of double tulips patiently waiting to burst into life.

The season is changing and we are starting to see the early summer flowering stems appear and more variety available. We have fresh flowers more readily available to order throughout the week through our website or by dropping us a message.

We’re planning our flower subscription launch for the season so if you’d like regular British flowers or looking for a gift idea, keep your eyes peeled 🌸

Join us this Sunday 1-3 for our Spring Vase Arrangements Flower Club event hosted by ! We’ll be focusing on creating stunning spring arrangements using a variety of seasonal British flowers.

During the workshop, you’ll learn different techniques for arranging flowers in a large vase, which will be provided for you. We’ll also show you how to gift wrap your arrangement if you’d like to gift your creation. Additionally, we’ll have fun creating jam jar arrangements for those shorter stems.

As part of the workshop, we’ll discuss what cut flowers are in season this month, what we’re growing on the flower farm and what you can cut and arrange from your own garden.

Refreshments will be provided, and the café will be open if you’d like a sweet treat too. Parking is free, just head to Sainsbury’s carpark and walk through the gorgeous gardens of the barn to find us just off the courtyard.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get creative, indulge in some self-care time, and create stunning spring floral displays!

We love to see our brides preserving their bouquets! So much love and time goes into our wedding bouquets, carefully selecting every flower that goes into them and arranging them to showcase each bloom. Always time for making wreaths, even at a busy ! We loved the flowering heather from and it works great as a wreath!

We will be holding a dried flower wreath workshop for Flower Club on 26th May and later on in the year with dates to be confirmed. It’s the perfect way to create something everlasting which you can keep for yourself or gift to someone!
