STATEMENTS // One thing I always advise...

My job as a Planner is to Advise, Curate and Deliver the wedding that my couples desire.

One thing I always advise is to have statement pieces in the design of the day, whether that be an incredible cake or a fabulous floral installation for example. Making a statement makes it even more memorable!

I then curate a design for the whole day which fits the couple's style and I deliver it by using trusted and talented suppliers.

My bride always knew she wanted a statement arch for her church ceremony, once we chose the colour palette for the wedding we set about working with one of our trusted suppliers . I'm sure you'll agree they created a truly fabulous statement here!

JUST A JOB? // I love my job, it is honestly such an honour to be part of some of the most important days of my couple's lives.

This isn't just a job for me! It is a responsibility, it can be hard work, it is a lot of pressure but it is an absolute joy.

You want a beautiful wedding of course and so many planners can give you this but you should choose a planner that you bond with, someone that puts your mind at ease, someone that gives you the confidence to enjoy your day knowing you're in experienced and safe hands.

This feedback is exactly what I want to hear - I want to know that you and your bridal party have been able to truly relax and enjoy every moment!

HELLO // Getting to know me...

How did I get into the world of weddings and events?

My Music degree led me to work for the LSO (London Symphony Orchestra) and following some time in their education team I began to work at their venue LSO St Luke's. There I began my career in this industry, managing corporate events and weddings and there I also met my husband!

What have I enjoyed most about my career so far?

I love working in heritage and unique venues whose sole purpose is not events. I especially enjoyed my 6+ years at London's Natural History Museum.
I love the fact that the income a lot of these venues receive feeds into something else whether it be charity work, education, research etc.

What motivates me?

I love helping people, I always have. I love seeing a couple get excited about their big day, actually enjoying the planning process and then seeing their faces when they say their vows, when they enter their wedding reception all set up beautifully and seeing them dancing the night away - its the best!

How do I spend my spare time?

Mainly with my lovely little family, but I also like to go out for food or cocktails, or have a spa treatment if I have time alone!

VALUES // These can be overlooked in the initial decision process (when choosing who to work with), but it is something that I think is key.

Certainly for me when I'm choosing which suppliers to go to I consider how they run their business, how they work with clients, what is important to them, what level of service are they going to provide.

My values are at the core of my business.

The service I provide and the way in which I do it is all led by the clients and their needs. I work collaboratively with couples and industry suppliers to give all of them the support they need to deliver the best day for our couples.

I work with honesty and integrity to ensure couples know what to expect from me, the associated fees, how I will work - I am very transparent with this so there are no hidden costs or issues.

And lastly I care a great deal about my couples, I ensure they feel looked after and supported throughout the whole time that we work together and beyond!

ITS YOUR DAY! // Your wedding is your day, you should choose what is important to you. Whether that is having your ceremony at your local church, or having your wedding in your family home, that means so much.

That is why the very first thing you should do when planning your wedding is get together to discuss the non negotiables. What do both of you really want and what details are you not as bothered about.

Keep this in focus at times when the details may be getting you down, or family opinions are making you question your choices.

When you work with me you are at the centre of everything. I do all the research, shortlisting, emails and phonecalls, I do all the budgeting, scheduling, styling and planning to deliver your vision.

"Lucy was fantastic to work with in planning and delivering our recent wedding. We worked with her for approximately a year and a half. She really took the time to get to know us and our priorities for our wedding, and work that into the planning from the start. We considered working with several planners but are so glad we chose Lucy!

Lucy is very professional but couples this with such a friendly and open manner (and a good sense of humour!) which enabled an easy and open relationship with her throughout. She also introduced us to fantastic suppliers we otherwise wouldn't have encountered, from stationers to florists. DESIGN // One of my favourite bits about planning a wedding is developing the design. ⁣

I always start my process by getting an idea of what the couple likes and what they envisage for their day.

All of my designs are elegant and well thought through, but I don't have a set style. To me, it is important that each wedding suits the couple and their style.

Luckily there is such variety available with furniture, tableware, linen, florals, stationery etc that I can get creative and curate something perfect for my couples!

Planning your wedding should be fun!

By looking after all the researching, shortlisting, emails, calls and meetings involved in planning your wedding I can give you the fun and stress free experience that you should have.

You should enjoy tasting various menus and drinking wonderful wines, without worrying about when and how the caterers will set up, where their kitchens will be and how they will keep the wine cold.

You should get excited about finding your wedding dress, laughing on your hen do and spending time with family and friends. You shouldn't be answering numerous supplier queries on requirements, timings, deliveries and parking!

And on the big day you should feel pampered, loved and truly happy. Your friends and family should be part of that as well, part of the laughter, part of the fizz drinking. No one should be answering last minute calls and dealing with any issues that may have arisen - no one except me that is!

Choosing your wedding venue

Choosing your wedding venue is one of, if not the most significant decision when it comes to planning your wedding.

Its so easy when you are looking at wedding venues to get overexcited and swept up in the moment, falling in love with a venue that might not actually cater to what you need.

All couples have different priorities for their wedding day, so a venue that fits those priorities isn’t going to be the same for everyone. Your choice of venue will have an impact on so many other elements of your day and so it is important to consider them and choose wisely.

Your team // If you've recently got engaged then you are probably already considering the people that you would like to have by your side on the big day. ⁣

Traditionally your bridal party will have set roles and duties to fulfil, but more importantly your bridal party should be filled with people that will support you, advise you and will be your cheerleaders.

On the day they need to be able to keep you calm and happy of course and come the evening they need to party!

You also want to make sure that your team get to enjoy the day as well. They don't want to be talking to suppliers or keeping the schedule on track. If you want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy the day then get in touch about our On the Day Coordination services.

Have you got engaged over this festive period?⁣

I actually got engaged on 23 Dec (10 years ago) and I remember what an exciting time it was. I remember starting my venue research whilst tucking into mince pies!

Whilst this is such an exciting time, it can also be quite daunting. You're probably wondering how you're going to find the time to plan a wedding and how you're going to translate your likes (and dislikes) into a stunning day to remember.

You might be thinking about who to invite and the pressure there can be in making sure your guests all have an amazing time!

Well, my first piece of advice is to enjoy your engagement! Don't rush into making decisions.

Happy New Year!

I love New Years Eve - not because I have a big social life (because I will be in with a glass of fizz watching the fireworks on tv), but because I love the feeling of all the possibilities that are to come.

I enjoy the 'fresh start' feeling you get with a new year, the anticipation and excitement for what lies in store.

I hope however you are celebrating you have an amazing time!

End of year reflectionsAs another year draws to a close, I, as many do, enjoy a chance to reflect and I am truly grateful, 2024 has been a wonderful year for us on so many levels!

We have had lots of fabulous weddings, gained couples as friends, worked with new suppliers and venues and strengthened our relationships with existing ones. We feel truly honoured to have worked with such incredible people.

It has at times been tricky (mainly for me balancing looking after a toddler and running a busy business). But after embracing our growth - my little one now goes to childcare part time and we have virtual assistance, a Wedding Coordinator and our freelance team has grown too!

We have grown from strength to strength and I am so proud of what we have achieved this year. I look forward to what 2025 has in store for us!

A massive thank you to everyone who has helped to make this year possible and thank you to you all on here who continue to support our journey.

Yes! This is exactly what makes this job so enjoyable!This was such a highlight from this year. A & B wanted to create a relaxed and beautiful day, with them and their loved ones thoroughly enjoying every moment.
These photos show just how happy they were!

Seeing my couples have so much fun on their wedding day gives me a feeling of such contentment that it stays with me. I am truly honoured to do this 'job', to be part of one of the most important days of their lives - it is a responsibility that I don't take lightly and a real privilege.

The details that make up an experience!Right now you are probably going over all the details that you need to consider for your Christmas day.

Whether you're planning the cooking timings, the table decor, what to wear, when you'll exchange gifts, what games you might play, what you might have to eat and drink in the evening. You will likely consider every detail ahead of time and it is those details that make the day go smoothly and make it more enjoyable for your guests.

Well a wedding is no different - just a lot bigger with a lot more details to consider!

Your choices will reflect who you are and the things you like - are you foodies? Do you love fine wine? How do you like to entertain your friends?

We have the pleasure of bringing your details to life. From creating your wedding design to managing the suppliers and schedule on the day - we are with you at every stage.

We think about all the details so you don't have to - from the shade of the florals to the number of candles, from the size of the dancefloor to the suppliers' power requirements. Every element is well thought through, so that the whole experience is one to remember for you and your guests.

What a picture!This moment was perfectly captured by S & A's photographer. Choosing your photographer is really important - you need to choose someone whose style you like of course, but you should also choose someone who you can get on with (as they are with you all day)!

When I am working with a couple on a full planning basis I do the venue search and the supplier search.

Now obviously there are suppliers that I have worked with, who I would recommend in a heartbeat and would love to work with time and time again. There are also suppliers who I have worked with who I wouldn't necessarily recommend.

Each wedding is different and so the suppliers that are suitable for that wedding will differ. I always consider many elements when shortlisting suppliers, this includes:
- style
- product
- budget
- availability
- service
- delivery
- way of working
- location

I do not take any commission from suppliers so when I recommend one it is because I have considered all of the above factors to match the right suppliers to your day.

DESIGN // One of my favourite bits about planning a wedding is developing the design. ⁣I always start my process by getting an idea of what the couple likes and what they envisage for their day (and importantly if there is anything that they don't like).

With N&P this summer we were clear on the brief from the beginning, we wanted to use a classic wedding palette of white and green, but with a touch of glamour.

I used both modern and more classic tableware designs, considering texture and details and the fabulous florals brought everything together.

The couple were delighted with the results, which is what it's all about!

Fit for a princess! Our beautiful bride had a fabulous 2nd dress on her wedding day in September. It was a real moment, she shone!
