Would you like something amazing for your wedding? Something that will give you a photographic memory of all your guests for the whole day! Quite literally hundreds of photographs!

If you think that sounds good then hire our photo post box. It’s only £250 for the whole day including delivery and you can still use it for all your letters and cards too!

Why have a postbox that only takes letters and cards when you can have one that takes photos too?

Heres a lovely review I just received from the hire I did on Saturday:

Hi Ashley,

We have got the photos thank you! Your post box was brilliant. Everyone had such a great time and laughed while taking selfies.

I will post on facebook and tag you for friends to tag themselves for extra advertising for yourself.

Thanks,

Rachel

So nice to get two lovely reviews in one day.
I received both of these lovely reviews in the last 24 hours.

I couldn’t recommend Platinum Discos enough! The hire of the photobooth and giant letters couldn’t have been easier. Ashley was very attentive to my emails and had great communication about how things would pan out. On the night the set up was flawless, and it was well run by both Ashley and Aaron. The photobooth in particular really impressed me, with the unlimited prints, provided props, over 50 backdrops to choose from, and how well it was monitored all night. If I have any events again in the future, I will definitely be giving Platinum Discos a call! Thank you again 🙂

Hi Ashley

I just wanted to thank you for making my husband's birthday so special tonight. The young man in charge of the photo machine is a credit to your organisation.

The guys who dealt with the sparkle floor were also very efficient. You are a well oiled, stress free machine. Thanks again. X

Kind regards
Ellie White

I ask at my discos in Scotland every time I play an ABBA song who has been to see ABBA Voyage in London.

Very few people from Scotland have been!
Those who have like me think it’s an amazing show!

Amazing technology, great tunes and on every review site nothing but 5 star reviews!

If you love ABBA you have to go and see this show, you’ll come back and tell all your friends and family what an amazing gig it was!

You can get tickets from Ticketmaster on line and the finish date has been extended again due to to its popularity!

6,000 people a day for two years and counting!

Absolutely amazing gig and like most people that have been I plan to go again!

Experience ABBA Voyage live and in person, only at the ABBA Arena, London. "It has to be seen to be believed" – Rolling StoneBook now at ABBAVoyage.com ...

Interesting read!

Walmart and Costco carry this jam and I felt that this story needed to be shared and you will feel the need to too ❤️
*The incident took place in a supermarket in New Jersey. The tweet is by Michael Perino *
“At the supermarket today, I found a small, elderly woman standing in front of a high shelf holding preserves. She was having trouble finding the flavor she wanted because the jars were set back on the shelf.
She couldn’t read the labels. She could barely reach them. I offered to help.
After I handed her the raspberry preserves, she thanked me, paused, and then asked, “Do you know why I buy this brand?”
I laughed and replied, “Because it tastes good?”
“Yes, it tastes good.” She paused again. “I am a Holocaust survivor.”
This was not the conversation I expected on a Sunday grocery run. “During the war, the family that owns the company hid my family in Paris. So now I always buy it. And whenever I go to the store, my grandkids remind me, ‘Bubbe, don’t forget to buy the jelly.’”
I told her that that was the best reason I ever heard to buy any company’s product. And then we both smiled behind our masks and went our separate ways.”
*****************************
Someone else on Twitter looked into the story and indeed, the town that Andros Company, the makers of Bonne Maman, comes from, hid and saved Jewish families in WW2. It was called Biars sur Cere, which then had about 800 villagers.
From an article, “You have to understand what it was like then. There were posters on the walls, from the N***s and from the collaborators, and they said that if you are found to help a Jew, a freemason, a communist, a socialist, or a pervert, you will be shot on sight.” Despite the great danger in which helping them put the villagers in, still they kept the children safe.”
A good reason to buy Bonne Maman products. And a poignant reminder that when we look out for each other it can change lives, and that there are good and selfless people in the world.
♥️Bonne Maman! 🇫🇷

The one thing I really like about my job is when you can quite literally transform a room using Lighting. I think it makes all the difference and when people walk into the room and you hear them comment on how beautiful it looks, it’s always something that puts a smile on my face. As I was walking around the venue from the bar next door all I could hear was the customers, staff and managers all commenting on how amazing the room looked. So it’s not just me that notices it seems!
When I started out as a DJ I always wanted to put on the most spectacular shows. It’s something I’ve stuck with for over 48 years now. Nowadays DJs are going for a different kind of look for their Disco with a very minimalistic look and they all use this expression “ Less is more”. I have never been this kind of Dj and I never will be, as I really like to put on a proper show with a big Sound system that sounds crystal clear with amazing lighting that really impresses people when they walk through the door! If you’ve been to one of my gigs or if you’ve hired me, you’ll know exactly what I mean!
The latest trend that DJs are following is to get rid of what I would call a traditional DJ console that you can hang your lights from and has lots of space behind it to hide all your boxes and stuff and makes everything look tidy to Lecturn type consoles with nowhere to hang lights no protection from customers with drinks in their hands and to me they look like Ice cream salesmen rather than Djs.
This look is not for me and never will be!
I like my Disco to be very protected as I buy very expensive equipment and the thought of somebody dropping a pint of beer or worse still Coca-Cola on my laptop or controller, that would cost thousands of pounds to replace is just unthinkable. But there’s also the other cost that is that somebody’s wedding or birthday or other party suddenly stops and that’s it finished for the night! That’s why I will stick with a Dj console that has lots of protection for my very valuable equipment!

It’s funny when you do so many late nights that you don’t actually know what time you’ve got back in!
On my way up from the Birchtree last night I stopped off had a coffee at McDonald’s and I have absolutely no idea what time I got in. I know it was after three and somewhere around four maybe. But I was rather high on adrenaline from my gig at the Birchtree which was so much fun. As you probably will know, I don’t do pub gigs anymore but I do the Birchtree because I thoroughly enjoy it and have done every time I’ve been there and I do The County Hotel in Hexham at New Year, which I’ve done for seven years now. I also do the sister pub across the road on New Year’s Day now too, which is a more recent addition.
It’s nice when you get a really good buzz out of doing your job and it was especially nice last night when so many people came up and said hello and asked for a request and said many nice things about the music that I was playing and one girl in particular said to me that I had made her Easter and it was the best night she’d been to for months. Thank you Kelly, you made my night!
It’s a funny thing when you work as a DJ the psychological effects that people being really nice to you and saying that you play great music and stuff like that actually has on your performance it kind of spurs you on to do even better!
I think I must be different from many DJs because something I see on Dj forums quite regularly are Djs complaining about people shoving phones in their faces with songs on YouTube or Spotify or even just written down. Personally, I have absolutely no issue with that at all as it’s far easier to read something from a phone than it is for someone to try and tell you, over the top of loud music. Last night requests came thick and fast and in all formats from written notes on bits of paper to customers coming up and asking you and even some people singing you a song and saying do you know which one I mean? You can’t imagine how hard that actually is? You know the song and there’s another song playing and it’s incredibly difficult to actually get it right, but I did last night, it’s one of the challenges of the job. One thing I would say is if you’re going to put a phone in front of my face with a song request on it please hold it about 2 feet away because if it’s really close unfortunately due to my terrible eyesight at Close range I can’t read a thing so if you put it about 2 feet away, then I’ll be able to read it.
Requests are always welcome, I want to play as many as I possibly can. Sometimes I might not play your song immediately but the reason I do this is because I don’t like to mix up the genres of music, I like things to flow in what I would call a logical pattern so if you’re doing like 90s dance music you wouldn’t stick on a 70s disco song in the middle of it . And these things are a judgement call every night that I have to make. Playing the right song at the right time makes for a great evening.
So please don’t be shy if you’d like a song played, always feel free to come up and see me and ask for whatever you would like or stick it on a bit of pape and give it to me. Please try and write in block capitals as it’s quite hard to read in the dark at the best of times let alone when the writing isn’t particularly legible.

I have in the past just told people my mobile number and said to them to text me which I also quite like, but I also like people to come and talk to me because it’s more personal and it’s just the way I like to Dj.

So it’s Monday morning and I’m off on my travels already, heading up to Dundee to collect some Giant Letters from one venue then I’ll be going to Edinburgh to collect some more Giant Letters and then I’m heading off to Alloa to collect my third set.
Then tomorrow I’ll be heading to Greenock to go and pick up some more giant letters from there as well and then I might have some time off as I’ve had three very very long days one after the other.
Friday night was 20 hours Saturday night was 18 hours and yesterday was 20 hours as well. I don’t get much sleep at weekends! But I wouldn’t change it for anything as I thoroughly enjoy what I do for a living!

(I’ve now corrected all the mistakes due to dictation errors)

So good to be back at The Birchtree Hotel last night after a 5 year absence and to see some of my regulars from the last gig I did 5 years ago!
Another great night!
Thank you and great to see you again!

As the summer approaches I’m needing event staff for predominantly weekend work. We are based in Bathgate but would like staff in Aberdeen and Inverness who we can call on when we have a job in these locations.

I need drivers and general crew who don’t need a licence.

Drivers must have a clean licence and be over 30 for insurance reasons.

You must be physically fit and able to work unsupervised after training.

This can be a full time or part time job.
Salary negotiable depending on experience and suitability.

The most important quality to me is reliability as in the entertainment industry there is no excuse for a no show or being late!

Tel Ashley on 07472 287 151.

This was the last thing I could have done with on a busy Saturday delivering giant letters here, there and everywhere.
I managed to get the wheel off in minutes but getting the spare out from under my van was a bit more challenging!
The book for the van shows a picture of the back of a van which isn’t the same as mine! I had to figure it out myself, but eventually did and was back on the road in 20 minutes and everything was still delivered on time!
This tyre has only done 12,000 miles and all the others are still like new.
Very strange!

I remember seeing this years ago!I’ve heard every one of these over the years and a few more!

Just as I was getting in the car to leave after the most amazing wedding, look what appeared 🌈✨… of course I had to dig through all my stuff to find my camera and put it all together again, Garry was thrilled 🤪, I think it was worth it 💕

I’m delighted to see a DJ that I know from up in Aberdeenshire called Paul T picking up the best Scottish wedding Dj. That’s his second award this year! Absolutely delighted for you! When I met you, I said you were a class act!

What an amazing gig I had last night, up in Glencoe, to celebrate the marriage of Eilidh and Joseph!
See comments.

I’d just like to thank you all for your well wishes over the last day or so.
I got out of hospital about 4pm today.
Once again I’m a medical mystery! Eyesight still blurred and nobody knows why! Optician, doctors etc all drew a blank.
All my tests came back surprisingly good.
Cholesterol 4.8, BP fluctuating between 130/89 to 124/82, Lumbar puncture clear, all other blood tests ok, CT scan showing no tumours, bleeds, cancer etc.
I have had a sudden onset headache/ thunderclap headache and it’s upset my vision. Apparently they are quite common.
Extremely painful and having a serious headache for 6 days wasn’t fun! Sumatriptan has relieved the symptoms with propranolol.
I had one 15 years ago that was far worse and remembered what I was given, and asked for it again.

I have to say the doctors, nurses, registrars, porters and cleaners at St John’s hospital were amazing! I was seen incredibly quickly when I arrived, had a CT scan in less than 20 minutes of arrival and only really had to wait for my various results from the lab.
The doctor who gave me my lumbar puncture did it for the first time and got the needle into my spinal fluid first time! She was happy and I was relieved. I asked her if this was her first time and she said you don’t want to know the answer, I said that’ll be a yes. The registrar that supervised her was very helpful in teaching her and it was nowhere near as painful as the last time when they tried 5 times without success! Then the anaesthetist was called and he got it first time. It’s not an experience I’d look forward to again, but necessary.
Met a lovely lady in the bed next to me called Patricia, she was full of stories of seeing German bombers in WW2 over East Calder. A very nice lady!
We were allowed a couple of domino’s pizzas late at night which I got delivered and we shared with the staff.
Doctors and nurses are such amazing people! I have so much respect for them and so little for successive governments who are gradually eroding the NHS into privatisation! I’d call them traitors to the people of this country!
God bless the NHS and all the amazing people who try so hard to keep it going while others seek to destroy it!
Pay them a decent wage and invest in a system that was once the envy of the world!

Currently in St John’s hospital in Livingston getting tests done.
Had an ECG, blood tests, CT scan and my favourite, a lumbar puncture.
Not the most pleasurable way to spend the day. Hopefully if the results are all good I’ll get out soon.

I’ve had a splitting headache for 6 days along with blurred vision and tinnitus in my ears. Hopefully they’ll find out the cause.
This exact same thing happened 15 years ago.

I figured about a way today to save time!
I had a haircut in Ferdi’s Turkish barbers and had my big white van washed at the same time at the car wash right outside.
By the time my haircut was finished the van was done! I’ve now got a white van, not a green and white one!
They did a superb job of washing my very dirty van and happy with my new look haircut!

Left at 10am after loading the van, got back in at 7pm!
