The first 5 dances for Jeannie and Alec’s wedding reception at The Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness!
A huge function suite so we used 24 wireless mood lights, 10 Equinox Helix lights, 2 confetti cannons and 2 Showven sparkulars!
Sound was provided by 4 Ev Evolve 50’s total wattage 4Kw.

I really liked the combination of using two cold spark machines for the first dance followed by the two confetti cannons! The effect was amazing!
The confetti cannons lasted such a long time! Better than the twist and shoot cardboard ones and the pyrotechnic type! No smoke output so can be used in any venue even with smoke detectors!
The Sparkulars are also safe to use indoors and don’t set off smoke detectors.
I think this was the first time I’ve ever played 5 first dances and two of the songs I had to play off my phone as I couldn’t get them on Spotify, so had to use you tube music instead. A lot to do in perfect order, playing through my laptop, iPad and iPhone without making a mistake! I unusually got a bit stressed and was glad to get the first few dances done!
It turned into a great night!

I started at 7am on Thursday morning, finished at 1.30am!
A long drive up the A9 to Inverness and we had to be there early as I provided two sparkulars and did the music for the ceremony at 1pm too!

Well, it’s been quite a week for me.
On Saturday, I returned to Dunfallandy House Hotel near Pitlochry which is where I used to go when I was a youngster! On this occasion I was doing a wedding which was in a marquee at the back of the hotel. It looked amazing and I had a very enjoyable night entertaining everybody.
We provided a white LED Dance Floor which we had put on Rubber matting because it was on an outside stone surface and I provided mood lighting and the Disco, as well. I’ve put some photographs below.

On Saturday I provided some lighting and a Photo Booth for my friends 25th wedding anniversary at Dalgarven house in Ayrshire. It was a very enjoyable gig and I met so many nice people as I was also a guest as well as providing the Photobooth and the Lighting. It gave me a very good idea as to how it would be if you were holding a wedding there. It’s a great exclusive use venue with on-site accommodation and a spa and you can even book your massage there.
It’s a very picturesque venue and I think photographers will love it for all the different possibilities for those all important wedding shots.
It has something for everybody as it has a bar and another bar that’s off that which can be used as a quieter area should you want to do so and it has the two big Function rooms one could use for dining and the other one could be used for your entertainment at the end of the night which from my point of view is really good because it means you can set up at any time. The Orangery can be used also for your ceremony and it looks stunning.

My third gig was on Sunday at Melville Castle just outside Edinburgh and I was entertaining an amazing group of Americans from North Carolina and some Mexicans. They were such a fun crowd and Celia the bride and Alde the groom were never off the Dance Floor.
I’ve attached a few photographs of how the room looked and will put some videos in the comments.
It was great to have such a fun crowd who wanted to enjoy themselves so much and I played a mixture of typical wedding music plus some requests from the bridegroom and some Mexican music that was on the playlist as well.
As it was a destination Wedding they only had 45 guests in a big marquee but it looks spectacular and that’s when you really have to entertain rather than just play music! I have to say that smaller weddings I have always seen as a great challenge and one that I love to take on !
All in all a very enjoyable weekend, but a rather painful one for me as my back has been giving me serious problems for about a month now to the point where I’m actually geting my two roadies to do the lifting as I can’t.

The show must go on no matter what and no matter how much pain I’m in.

Monday is my day off and I’m going for a two hour massage to try and help my back and another visit to the Chiropractor tomorrow.

I decided to record a promo video of my Photobooth and Lighting that I put into Dalgarven house down in Ayrshire but added a bit of a grand tour to show you what this amazing Venue has to offer. And not only has an amazing spa suite and multiple rooms that you can use it also has on site Accomodation so if you’re looking for a venue for your wedding, I would highly recommend this one.
