Looking back to this beautiful sunshiney day in August. Laura and George married at with a gorgeous colour palette of pastel brights.
The weather was predicted to be wild and rainy, but during the morning, it cleared, and the sun popped out just in time for the ceremony under the ribbon decorated arbour in the gardens. Lots of personal touches were added by the couple around the venue, including the use of our diy flowers for table vases, potted perennial plants to line the aisle, and lots of lovely photos of happy memories.

Laura and George's flowers were 100% Devon grown - thankyou as ever ❤️

Season's end.....
Final fresh flower delivery of 2024.
You might ask why / how can you stop delivering flowers from mid October - mid February?

In answer: To run this business sustainably is more than thinking about the 'green' credentials aspect of our work. Choosing to run a British flower, seasonally guided floristry business means we're dictated to by the weather and its impact on availability and choice of flowers.
I could continue to offer flowers through the autumn & winter but this would involve for the most part purchasing flowers each week from our brilliant British wholesalers - but is not economically sustainable for my small business. Relying on a limited supply / choice and unknown demand from customers during this period is an unsustainable model for me and my business.

So I choose instead to focus on offering dried flowers & gifts during this period, Christmas wreaths & planters, planning for next year, preparing flower beds, sowing, planting, undertaking training, updating my website, processes and admin.

I'm still here working behind the scenes trying to make each year better than the last, growing more beautiful flowers, growing relationships and connections within this small business world, growing better in my skills & processes, growing this small business year on year but in a way that fits me and my family, personality and needs. That is the greater meaning of sustainability for me.

I have plans for exciting things next year and am also looking forward to celebrating the build up to Christmas with my lovely workshop regulars & newbies alike. I'll also be updating the website with gift offerings over the coming weeks as well festive favourites for you. I'll also be popping up with Christmas goodness at Grace & Favour during December.

Thank you for supplying the best of the best flowers together with and

Happy 3rd wedding anniversary Phoebe & Andrew!

They had a perfect little Autumn wedding Yurtcamp

We provided a petite Bridal bouquet, buttonholes, a DIY bucket of flowers and vase arrangements for the reception. The only request was for a bit of yellow and for arrangements to be seasonal & wild looking.

Congratulations Helen & Stuart married on Saturday at Upton Barn & Walled Garden - using a pallete of all the pinks with some pops of burgundy and red.

All Devon & Cornwall grown flowers and foliage were used for a broken arch arrangement in the ceremony space, aisle markers and a ceremony table arrangement. As well as bride's bouquet, bridesmaids, buttonholes, hair flowers and bud vases along the tables.

It was a beautiful September day and Helen looked absolutely stunning. I can't wait to see more of the official photographs by Ivyhouse Photography - as my pictures don't do the space or flowers justice in combination with the direct lighting!

Happy wedding day to Alice & Simon - married on Sunday at Deer Park Country House

The sun shone for them, and the summerhouse ceremony space with its Verbena lined aisle looked just fabulous.

Alice's stunning bright bouquet was filled to the brim with Devon's best flowers of the season - Dahlias, Zinnias, Cosmos and so much more from River Garden Flowers and The Flower Tree

Bridesmaids in gorgeous burgundy dresses had a single Dahlia bouquet each. Men wore Dahlia buttonholes with a touch of burgundy tones.
Pillar arrangements for the ceremony space and many many bud vases down through the reception tables, which complimented the rich colours of the wallpaper in the Orangery.

Congratulations.

Happy Anniversary Jess & Ryan.

Married back in September 2022 at Clifford Barton Weddings shot by Samuel Box Photography
So many gorgeous images of their informal, colourful, country wedding.

Jess wanted a relaxed feel to flowers for her bouquet and the seven bridesmaids in a summery palette. We also dressed tables with jars of flowers and to ceremony & reception space we added bountiful (foam free) baskets of flowers to welcome guests. Finally buttonholes for Ryan and his groomsmen, hair flowers for Jess and flowers for the beautiful cake by Crafty Cakes - Exeter

All British grown flowers with the majority being locally grown by myself, River Garden Flowers and Sandford Blooms (miss your lovely flowers) - thank you flower friends.

Clifford Barton provided such a stunning rural backdrop to this wedding - perfect for Jess & Ryan's fun, natural and dog friendly theme.

Late August bouquets & an apology...

For being very much m.i.a - from social media, updates or newsletters. I'm not sure why I've found it hard to keep up with this .... but it's partially being busy - wearing all the hats in my business, enjoying the summer, spending time with family.

But also - running out of things to say, struggling to stand out or find a place in social media, feeling like it's over saturated, like it lacks purpose or meaning in this world we're living in.... and finding a voice for oneself in amongst it all.

So I resort to pretty pictures (which let's face it is what Instagram was originally about) a dump of late August bouquets. You can definitely see the change in the seasons as you scroll.

And I'll try to find the words for more frequent interaction! Any top tips for those of you who've cracked this?

Congratulations Laura & George married yesterday at on Dartmoor. The sun came out just in time for an outdoor ceremony with coloured ribbons dancing in the breeze.
Laura and her family had used our diy buckets to fill bud vases for tables and flowering plants to line the aisle. Laura carried a colour filled bouquet along with her bridesmaids and George and his groomsmen wore pocket meadows instead of a buttonhole.
All Devon grown flowers from including Dahlias, Rudbeckia, Zinnia, Phlox, Scabiosa, Cosmos and so many other varieties.

Next week is a busy one - so bouquet numbers will be limited - pre-order ASAP. Thankyou.
