Today’s news.
A conversation I had with the Birmingham Mail.
I’ve just retired- that’s all.
I’m 65 tomorrow. But you know there has to be some ‘drama’ in there to make readers read the article.

Yes, it’s the journalist’s interpretation of what I said to her questions.

I’ve had THE best work life experience and self taught career, and now I have a degree in it - and still not one Wedding Planner in the UK has ever received any recognition for the role of..? And there are many!

I’m happy, content, knowing I’ve done my very best (and more) for all my (2000+) couples!

I’ve closed the book, but I’m still willing to share my expertise and knowledge to those who value it.

We are sad to share that our beloved Kleinfeld founder, Hedda Kleinfeld Schacter, passed away earlier this week at 99 years of age.

Miss Hedda and her husband Jack built Kleinfeld into the world’s most iconic bridal retailer in the world, starting with its founding in the 1940s in Brooklyn, New York. Together, Miss Hedda and Jack established Kleinfeld as a haven where brides could explore the largest and most diverse collection of wedding dresses on earth.

Dedicated to perfecting the wedding look for every bride, Hedda traveled globally to find new bridal designers and bridal fashion and mentored dozens of new designers to help them achieve greatness. She was a brilliant visionary who loved every bride, employee, and designer she sold at Kleinfeld. When Miss Hedda and her husband Jack retired from the business in the 1980s, Kleinfeld was considered to be The Mecca of Bridal Fashion in the world.

Kleinfeld’s current owners, Ronnie Rothstein, Mara Urshel, and John Costantino, and the Kleinfeld staff honor Miss Hedda for her life, which was so well lived for her family, her staff, and all her Kleinfeld brides.

You will be missed. Today and always, we will celebrate your life and legacy our dear Miss Hedda.
