WEEK FIVE 🗣️

Rehearsals began this week! Everybody across the three disciplines of acting, singing and dancing were busy picking up blocking, harmonies and choreography in preparation for our Remembrance show next month, and our production team are stuck into prop- and costume-making.

WEEK FOUR 🧁

Big week here at Sundial! Monday saw the last of our callbacks, while a dance workshop took place, led by ex-student Maya. Thank you Maya for your time and super fun choreography!
And then, on Tuesday, we announced our cast for Until The Last Post and did our first readthrough with everybody! We’re all so excited for the show, and it’s wonderful seeing our cast and crew get excited too.
Our production team began collecting together props this week, and got their first look at what’s in our costume cupboard, so we could take some photos of our lead actors in costume for posters (keep your eyes peeled for those)!
On Thursday we had our first Sundial fundraising event of the year - a bake sale! Thank you so much to everybody who donated delicious baked goods, and to everybody who stopped by to buy something. We raised over £100 for our future productions!
Rehearsals start next week - hope you’re all ready!

WE’RE HAVING A BAKE SALE! 🧁

Come along to the benches outside the refectory between 10:15 and 12:50 on Thursday 9th October and buy some delicious baked goods to help us fundraise for our upcoming productions!

If you’re a member of Sundial, we’d love for you to donate some cakes for us to sell - drop them off with an ingredients list to AC01 before the bake sale on Thursday!

WEEK THREE 💃

What a busy week! On Monday, whilst individual auditions for our original musical Until The Last Post were taking place, our choreographers ran a dance audition workshop to a song from the show. Tuesday brought more auditions and a devising workshop by ex-student Louise based on Carrie: The Musical, which her theatre company .theres.ghosts are producing next year.
Throughout the week, our production team learned how to create props tables, and took part in interviews for the various production roles involved in Until The Last Post.

Well done to everybody who auditioned or interviewed this week, and best of luck if you have a callback on Monday next week. We can’t wait to release the cast list soon!

Isadora (she/her) is one of our marketing and fundraising leads, and the final member of our 2025/26 board! She played one of the three pigs in Shrek last year, and now she’s the one in charge of running the Instagram (hi!). In Sundial sessions, you’ll mainly see her making marketing material and taking photos/videos for the social media. Her favourite memory of Sundial last year was singing Seasons of Love (from RENT, her favourite musical) in the Remembrance show, and this year she’s looking forward to sharing more about the theatre company with others through her marketing role!

This is Liam (he/him), one of our marketing and fundraising leads! He played the Big Bad Wolf in Shrek, but his favourite part of Sundial last year was acting in the original Remembrance show, and he’s looking forward to being involved in the production of both our shows this year. He’ll be primarily heading up fundraising, organising events to raise money for our productions!

Introducing one of our acting directors, Tianna, or T (she/her)! She loved the passion of the community at Sundial last year, and she’s excited to meet new members this year and put on great shows! Tianna played Pinocchio in Shrek, enjoying the challenges of playing a quirky character with an unusual voice, which will stand her in good stead for directing the actors in our productions!
