Talented students from Northbrook doing a local gig...

Get on it!!

Shout out to the local music community, I'm working on a project for Northbrook College, which needs some soundproofing.. Sadly my budget wont stretch to it at this stage..
While I hate to beg, if anyone has access to any spare soundproofing materials I'd be eternally grateful for anything that is available.. Thanks in advance!!

It’s me innit!

Spun 7, this week it's...

Norman Murchie-Inappropriate Handclap.
Norman Murchie

1. What was the first record you bought?
Boomtown Rats - ‘I don’t like Mondays’ was the first I actually bought, but the first I heard were a box of 7s I was gifted when I was really ill with the mumps. There were things like Freda Payne - ‘ Band of Gold’ in there and when I was getting better I pretended to be ill so I could listen to them more!
2. The most you’ve paid for a record?
Rather not say…. Because it’s a ludicrous amount, with booze & lack of impulse control being major factors!

3.Which artist do you own the most titles of?
Oh it’s a toss up between Stevie, Curtis & Prince… or Wilco… or Frankie Knuckles. Actually Stevie Wonder.. I went a bit obsessive with him.

4.Best bargain or find?
There’s a Stevie Wonder comp, a proper charity shop record, might even be a MFP comp… ‘Light my Fire’.. it’s got ‘Sunny’ on it and other things I play out, had loads of copies of that over the years.

5. Guiltiest Pleasure? Got to be ‘Electric Dreams’ - Giorgio Moroder & Phil Oakey. ( Norm launches into his rendition… “ Dum da da da Dum”!)

6. Record you’d most like to own?
This constantly changes, every time I hear something I don’t have I want it!

7. Favourite album/Record that changed your life? Gil Scott Heron and his Amnesia Express double live album. I’ve worn it out… on my third copy.

Catch Norm’s wonderful multi-genre vinyl sets every Friday night The Libertine Social Portland Road, Worthing.

He much prefers playing records to having his picture taken!
