Our Amazing Animal World We are an Animal Sanctuary caring for over 100 Rescue Animals.

Our rescue animals make for a unique, hands-on, educational and fun experience that you will remember forever. We are "Our Amazing Animal World" and we LOVE the unloved & unwanted animals here at our private sanctuary in West Sussex. Starting this journey is, and always has been, been about helping animals in a self supporting way that benefits everyone. We wanted to help animals but also educate

people about the importance of animal care and welfare but in a fun way that engages an audience instead of lecturing. With no children of our own we wanted to open our doors and offer a forever home to unloved/unwanted animals giving them the love and security they need. We currently have over 100 rescue animals in our care and each of these live with us as part of our family in our home. Obviously this kind of operation requires a lot of funding which we usually create by bringing a small selection of the animals out to all different types of workshops and events. 



Caring for such a large menagerie is a huge amount of work and we don't have other jobs and lives - this is it for us and supporting the animals is our life which ultimately means no days off, no holidays and no social life - the animals become your life and take up every part of it but honestly we wouldn't have it any other way (although a holiday does sound lovely!)

Meerkat Encounters

Get up close and feeding these unique animals, learning all about their species and their individual personalities. They’re inquisitive creatures, and will most likely use you as a climbing frame! Make sure to bring your camera, as there’ll be plenty of photo opportunities throughout.

They’re amazing. Simples. Make their enrichment treat and then sit in with our male meerkats to see them enjoy it. They may even jump on your lap or use you as a climbing frame.

£60 for 2 people (children or adults)
£120 for 4 people (children or adults)

Age restriction: Children must be 7+
Allow up to 30 minutes for the visit

Our Amazing Animal World Rescue Corner at Purple Pets

We are have some exciting talks with Purple Pets currently with the view to utilising a corner of their shop to house a rescue animal corner. Both Purple Pets and ourselves have often have animals come in that, for no fault of their own, require a new forever home.

Paul at Purple Pets was as excited as us at the prospect of having a corner dedicated to animals that are looking for a new family to live with. We will be looking after the enclosures, using our amazing suppliers and helping find the right home for each character. We will also be in the shop at specified times to discuss all things animals and help introduce people to the animals currently looking for that special forever home.

This week we visited Hertfordshirezoo as we had been given vouchers for a sloth experience for Christmas. Such a lovely zoo which has changed a lot in the few years since our last visit.

Shona who introduced us to the sloths for their encounter was incredible - so lovely and friendly.

Lovely Gandalf recently moved to his new forever home to live with Jacob + Alfie.

Gandalf is a lovely skinny pig but was struggling to settle here - he really is intolerant of other guinea pigs and refused to share his space with anyone. We tried for many months before seeing that he would just be happier on his own and loved by a family able to give him lots of time and attention.

We can’t wait to hear what mischief he gets up to in his new home ❤️

Liberace arrived recently and Mark has been helping him gain confidence but also getting him used to us. It will be a slow process as his only experience of hands previous to this was to clip his wings.

Some of our Rats need new cages - can you help?

Animal cages ages can be a constant expense for a sanctuary like ours. We are sometimes kindly donated second hand enclosures but often these don’t have a long shelf life.

We have MANY rats come through the sanctuary (currently 15) and we need a new cage for a particular group. Rats are one of our favourite animals and its surprising how many are surrendered or abandoned.

We are thrilled to be visiting The Farmers Freehouse in Scaynes Hill with some of our amazing rescue animals for unique handling sessions.

2 of us will be present at each session to keep everyone entertained and ensure children and the animals are safe and happy.

This event is suitable for all children over 3 years.
Tickets cost £9.99 each.

Accompanying adults are free but please limit to 2 adults per child.

A session lasts 45-60 minutes

Please note: Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Animal enrichment is so important for all animals and here at the sanctuary it’s something we are passionate about.

The meerkats are so intelligent so we present their food and treats different every day to create interest and excitement. Bobbi and Billie are very dominant when it comes to food and must eat first. Once the others are allowed to join in peace is restored.

Our Story

Loving the unloved & unwanted animals of the world.

"Our Amazing Animal World" are completely unique and love to bring some of our really amazing rescue animals to Parties, Celebrations, Schools, Nurseries, Care Homes, Fêtes, Youth Groups, Clubs and more.

We are Mark & Jerry, and we are fully dedicated to offering a unique fun, educational and fully interactive experience for both children and adults. We provide a loving forever home for over 100 rescue animals however we are not a charity and therefore receive no funding - this has always been about us choosing to offer a home to unloved/unwanted animals and bringing a selection of those out to meet people.

With 1-2 handlers at each event we are able to make sure that you are in safe hands whilst also taking care of all the needs of the attending animals. We don’t waste our time buying online accreditation’s as they are never observed or regulated in person. Instead we are the only animal handling company with fully qualified teachers as handlers and Marks invaluable knowledge studying his Exotic Animal Care Level 3 we can also offer a unique learning experience like no other.
