Can you believe it’s almost 2025? Before we say goodbye to 2024 we wanted to say a big thank you for all the love and support. Here are a few of our favourite pics from the year ❤️

Daily cuddles with Pippin. This poor little squirrel has been through so much in a few weeks! ❤️ What a beautiful princess she is ❤️ The scratch on my hand wasn’t from her was annoyingly from the side of a cage 🙄

Happy ‘gotcha’ day for miss Kiki Dee who moved into the sanctuary a year ago today. The diva has made it her mission to rule the roost with strong competition from Tiki the cockatoo and Lucky the turkey. We love you Kiki 🦜❤️

Forgotten someone special?? 🎄 THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT 🎄 Visit our rescue animals in their own home here at the sanctuary. Our Amazing Animal World is a small animal sanctuary run by ourselves, Mark & Jerry. HQ is a unique creation run from our home which is a 19th century school/church building homing 100+ rescue animals of all different shapes and sizes. Each of these amazing souls live as part of our weird and wonderful family and there are some truly unique characters. We are in West Sussex in a village called Scaynes Hill - RH17 7NY How does it work? You can now visit the animals here at HQ which is a small old church building where all the rescue animals live. Once you are here we start off around the large table meeting some of the animals that are easier to view in that way. We are always a very hands-on rescue and like children to learn through touch, holding etc. We then move to a couple of other rooms that hold various animals before moving outside to meet the Meerkats, Rabbits and Turkeys. Mark is usually the handler during our HQ visits, but we both aim to show visitors as many animals as we can in the allotted time. On your booking form if you choose 6 animals you would like to meet then we can concentrate on those favourites first. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the building being very old (and relatively packed with animals) there is sadly not suitable room for wheelchairs. We hope to open a centre one day that can be all inclusive but we currently need to work with what we have. PLEASE NOTE: The sanctuary can be a noisy space with some of the noisier parrots and with over 100+ rescue animals living here there will obviously been many animal smells so children who may struggle with sensory issues could find it too much. Pippin is starting to enjoy a back rub. Probably relieving some of those sore joints after all the stress of being his by a car 🐿️❤️

Update on Pippin the squirrel She’s doing well! It’s 2 weeks ago today she was brought in after being hit by a car. Pippins history: We had someone arrive with a squirrel that had been hit by a car. She was obviously very scared and traumatised but on inspection had no external injuries. With the laws how they currently are with squirrels no vet that we tried would see her but we found an amazing squirrel rescue who have mentored us in helping Pippin. It’s been a huge learning curve and one we couldn’t have done without the help of Nala's Nook Grey Squirrel & Corvid Sanctuary Pippin has now seen a specialist vet and has some fractured teeth along with being left with some neurological issues causing the lopsidedness but amazingly no internal issues. We always say it comes down to quality of life and she currently has good quality of life and hope going forward that this continues. Due to the current laws she sadly cannot return to the wild so she would need to live in a sanctuary. This requires a different licence to our existing one so of course we are now organising this so hopefully Pippin can live here with us.
