A message to say "thank you so much" to all of the residents of Mountbatten Crescent, Outwood, for their unwavering support for Laughing Buddha Sound System and the street parties we have all been enjoying over the last few months.
I know I'm not the only DJ out there who has been working really hard to put a smile on people's faces & hopefully lift some spirits by playing the music 🎶 you request.
The fact remains that It is hard work and there is always a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, planning each party 🎉 so it doesn't become repetitive, predictable, & therefore boring. Plus the work on the sound system itself to make sure it can perform to its optimum over the course of several hours.
I do it because I LOVE 😍 doing it. The buzz I get from seeing all those happy, smiling faces dancing round the street, doing the "socially distanced" Conga, Hokey Coki, & Cha cha slide, words are not enough, but actions speak louder than words and with smiles as wide as the streets they dance upon this all tells me I'm doing the right thing.
My partner, Kathryn & I, spend a lot of time discussing each party in advance; we do understand that it is loud and therefore people who have young children or have to be up for work the next day and, like me, work at some ungodly hours want to be able to sleep and we do try and take this into account for each party.
And finally, through talking to the residents at the end of Saturday night, I was surprised at how far some people had come to join in. One young man had come all the way from Dewsbury, and two other ladies had turned up on the recommendation of their friends, can't remember where from though lol 😂 Hey that's fine by me, the more the merrier. I understand there are others, on social media, who have been asking about the music, how to make a request and so on, to them I say "everyone is welcome to join in the fun" so you can make a request or dedication either in person or through text you will find the number on the Laughing Buddha page just start your text with LB Music so I know it's not a cold call lol 😂 and you're laughing.
Let's not 4 get this is a family event with people of all ages, from the very young to the very old 🧓 and Laughing Buddha Sound System wants to promote a Peaceful, loving and respectful environment for all concerned. The residents of Mountbatten Crescent have shown how easily this can be done and to them I say a very big "Thankyou" & "I love you all."
