damn !
TBOBBORAP1 is a father & son team who travel around the UK using 4K video & still photography to record some of the best RC flying in Europe - from club fly-ins to major public RC model aircraft shows across the country ! Both myself (pete) & my son (deano) are avid rc flyers, ive flown since the age of 21 (1983) & deano has flown since the age of 8 (2003) deano is now a fully qualified electricia
n and pays his own way and buys his own models now (bank of dad went under yrs ago)
i started this channel TBOBBORAP1 back in 2010 with the intention of just uploading videos of us all flying our models at our local club but again through luck & TJD member gregg veaseys determination we were able to start filming on the UK`s public show lines, thus we created this monster that has got bigger year after year ! We now have over 3,200 videos (AUG 2022)
From very early on deano seemed to pick up this flying malarkey very quickly and at the age of 14 was introduced to a petrol powered 3D model (a very nice gift from good friend jonathan) and the rest as they say is history, with help (money sponsorship) from several other club members - chriss, trevor, john, jonathon he bought himself a bigger & better 3D model & caught the 3D bug and practiced hard,
While we were filming at many of the uk shows & clubs we met several influential people inc world champion ali machinchy & horizon hobby display team leader azza stephens, as soon as they saw deanos flying ability they asked him to join the horizon display team immediately ! As you can imagine this was a dream come true for deano and fitted in straight away with azza & team member sonnys flying style, after horizon pulled out of the uk azza formed his own display team called Az aerosports display team (now with over 15 display pilots inc juniors)
deano entered the FSM UK competition back in 2017 - hoping to place in the top five
at least (he hoped)
imagine our surprise when he beat all 45 other pilots to go on and win the two day competition - wow what an accolade,
he practiced hard in 2018 because he knew the quality of the up coming pilots and they where after his crown,
well he only went and won the FSM UK event again in 2018 ! and against 45 pilots again,
he entered the FSM UK again in 2019 not knowing what would happen - but over the months the other pilots really upped their game and on the day he came 4th again out of 40 pilots - not a bad achievement,
Then in 2020 covid struck and all shows in the uk were cancelled, but somehow
the FSM UK event still went ahead and at the end of two days of grueling flying deano pulled off a very close second place - not a bad record over the four years the comp has been running - Two first places, one fourth place & one second place ! were so proud of him,
deano always enjoyed flying ww2 warbirds with me back in our early days so it was natural he would branch out into that side of the hobby, hes currently flying a carf models 1/4 scale P-51D mustang & 1/5 scale topflite P-47 thunderbolt among-st some foamy warbirds,
Also deano is now flying gas turbine models ! inc a 1/5 scale carf models Bae hawk & a jetlegends 1/6 scale F-16 fighting falcon & also a carf models 262mph Ultraflash sports jet & is having a Tomahawk models futura painted in a saudi air force camo scheme ! FIRST NIGHT FLIGHT WITH PETROL !
many thanks to my local flying club for allowing me to test out the new "aurora rc night lights" on my hangar 9 extra 300 ! the lights performed faultlessly (thank god) i have to admit it was not as hard as i expected it to be and settled into it quite quickly, thanks to john, phill, robin & dad for their help
had a great time at LMA tibbenham at the weekend with dad ! after flying my extra 300 for two seasons i am really looking forward to the new h9 extra 300x to arrive ! now looking forward to hastings this weekend with other horizon team members

had a brilliant day at the mayfly event at old warden with my dad, my first time ever at this famous museum and managed to get three flights on my hangar 9 p-3 revolution evo 62gx ! cannot wait for the next event, ps - what an awesome museum of aircraft and motor vehicles !

great day down the patch with dad and the lads today, managed to squeeze in six flights with my hangar 9 p-3 revolution evo 62cc gx - motor is running in nicely now and cant wait to team up with azza & sonny and team horizon at the up coming shows !

it was good getting the extra back in the air after four months laid up ! flying her on the dx 18 stealth with the high voltage 6265 spektrum servos and 12 ch spektrum rx, the da 120 ran faultlessly after the long lay up !
