Our Story
MUSIC. CLUB. COMEDY.
After a chance meeting in a Worthing coffee bar, our co-founders, local musician and promoter Thom Milner-Smith and creative entrepreneur Ant Dickinson, organised The Mother of All Parties, which saw 500 revellers fill the town’s Assembly Hall on New Year’s Eve 2014. Their next venture, a gig by The Charlatans, sold in out in just a week. The nights out that Thom and Ant envisioned were proving popular – and Atom was born.Since then, we have hosted 100+ events across Worthing and the south east of England. These have included live music from new and emerging acts as well as established names:10cc, ABC, Adorable, Grandmaster Flash, James Taylor Quartet, Julian Cope, Melissa Etheridge, Polar States, Tim Burgess, Turin Brakes, Wild Front, Wolfgang Flür of Kraftwerk. Alongside live music, our other key pillars are club and comedy events. We have promoted comedy acts such as Adam Buxton and Lou Sanders and put on club nights featuring the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club and the legendary Norman Jay MBE.
