♥️🩷Valentines Day is just 3 days away!! 🩷♥️

Our top tips for buying your valentines day flowers:

🌷 Choose something you think they will like, rather than what you think they will expect!

We have a wide range of products availble on our website, or if you give us a call we would be happy to take your bespoke order. I am a big lover of pink & red myself, but thats not everyones taste- perhaps they'd prefer bright colours, or all white? Make it personal and it will mean more.

🌹Make the card message count!

Truly, this is almost more important than the flowers! Add a personal message to make your gift more special.
Although leaving your card anonymous may feel cute, read the context clues as you don't want your thoughtful gift to feel creepy.

🌷It's better early than late

We do our absolute best to get orders out as early as we can on Valentines Day, but with the volume of deliveries we can't guarantee a time. If it is vital that your flowers are delivered early in the day, I would reccomend delivering them on Thursday.

🌹Don't leave ordering to the last minute

There are always a handful of you every year *ahem, you know who you are* that leave your Valentines orders until the very last second. Although we try to accomodate as much as we can, it's not always a guarantee. So, order your flowers now to save you having to buy an even bigger bunch the next day when you're in a spot of trouble!

What you need to know for your first floral consultation 🌿

Making decisions about your wedding & choosing your suppliers can feel really daunting and overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! For us at least, choosing your wedding flowers is very much a process that we can help guide you through every step of the way. You don’t need to have all the decisions made by your first meeting, you don’t even need to be close!

That first meeting is an opportunity to chat & get to know each other, & for me to learn a bit more about your style so that I can accurately provided you with some prices & options.

What we do need to know:
✔️ Your date & venue
Without this, there’s not a lot I can do for you as I need to be able to tell you if we are available for your wedding.
✔️A general idea of your style
The style you like can massively affect the overall cost. I’d never expect anyone to be able to describe this so I’d usually suggest having 1-2 photos of something you like for me to see.
✔️A general idea of colour preferences
Exact colours can be changed at any point, but with literally a whole rainbow of colour choice it’s a good place to start to be thinking about colours you do/don’t like
✔️ If you have any ‘must haves’
Flower priorities will vary from couple to couple, but if you know there’s something you absolutely must have (I.e, bridal bouquet, centrepieces), then I can better advise on how to spend your budget.

Things you don’t need to know:
✖️How much things cost or your exact budget
This first meeting is so you can get prices, I’d never expect anyone to already have an understanding of costs before this meeting.
✖️Names of flowers
That’s my job! You don’t need to be able to list your wedding flowers so don’t worry about this
✖️ Your exact colour scheme
As with above, it’s useful to have a general colour direction- but colour palettes will often evolve throughout the process. Sometimes when details like bridesmaids dresses are chosen, the original ideas will completely change & that’s okay!
✖️Exact quantities
Until you have your final guest numbers, you won’t know the final amounts. We can change small details like this down the line!

January is peak wedding planning season (for me as well this year! 🤭🥳)
If, like me, you’re in the early stages of your wedding planning, you’ll probably be thinking a lot about your budget right about now! I work in this Industry and even I have had to admit I really didn’t have a clue how much things cost. It can be really difficult to put a budget together when you simply don’t know where to start, so I’ve put together this little guide, just as a stepping stone.

Things to remember:

🌸Every wedding is unique, I can’t give an accurate quote until we’ve been over your ideas and your style in a lot more detail.
🌸Every florist is unique! The price guide listed here is based off our average designs- these prices will not be applicable to other florists.
🌸It’s always okay to ask questions! I don’t expect you to have extensive flower knowledge, or know exactly what your budget will look like at the beginning. If an idea turns out to be unrealistic for you, it’s perfectly okay to say so in a polite way.
🌸 You will maximise your flower budget by focusing on one or two larger more impactful pieces, than trying to spread yourself too thin. I am always happy to give my advice on how your budget can be best used.
🌸Something that is “traditional” or someone else’s priority might not be yours. Have your heart set on an archway but you’re not fussed by centrepieces? You’re allowed to spend your money where you will enjoy it most.

We are now closed for Christmas! 🎄🥂 We have officially put away our scissors for another year here at colonnade florist, and are now closed until Thursday 2nd January 2025! Last night was the National final for The Wedding Industry Awards!! 🥂We were named regional winner for The Wedding Florist of the year (Southeast) and so we were lucky enough to be finalists for the National event. We didn’t win the finals but it was such an honour to be there with all those amazing wedding suppliers. We had the best time, it was like the Oscar’s of the wedding industry and we are still on a high from all the fun today! ❤️@twia_official

The Pantone colour of the year 2024: Peach Fuzz 🍑 I notice that every year the Pantone colour does have a slight subliminal affect on wedding trends, so I’m excited to see how this spills over to flowers! Some of my favourite ways to include peach: 🍑Peaches and creams (classic wedding colours)🍑 Peach & Blue🍑 Peach and dusty pink🍑 Brighter colours with peach being a nice neutral base to tie things together 🍑 Earth tones and Autumnal colours What do you think of this years colour?
