This lovely ‘thank you’ card just arrived and brings back the happiest of memories of Fran and Max’s joyful wedding in June.

You have no idea how much we love helping our couples to have the most wonderful wedding.
Their wedding weekend was filled with daisies, curries, cakes and wine and it was a delight to be on the edge of their fun-filled shenanigans!

And don’t you love this gorgeous capture of them both up at the willow cathedral?

THE FIRST EVER WILLOW CATHEDRAL WEDDING WAS EXACTLY FIVE YEARS AGO🌿🌿🌿

Jake and Sabrina were the first couple to be married here. Congratulations on your 5th anniversary!
🌿They chose the for their and will always have a special place in our hearts!

It all looks quite different now!

🌿The specially selected Somerset-grown willow was planted in 2018.

🌿And if you scroll through 👉 you can see me painting the bespoke frame just before we put the 3 ‘chapels’ in place.

🌿We needed ladders and a van to stand on to bolt the pieces together and then…

🌿Wait for it to grow!

🌿Which it’s continuing to do…🌿🌿🌿

As well as 👩‍❤️‍👨👩‍❤️‍👩💑 it’s been used for:

Living at the venue in ‘the servant’s quarters’ ( we’re here to serve, after all) means round the clock support for your wedding and (in this case), your guests.

This is me, Joanna - the one at the end of the emails. Here I was yesterday delivering a shirt ( with a full quota of buttons) to a guest. And our daughter snapped this as I ran up to the short cut.

Ran? Errrm… more of a rushed walk. And I’m desperately trying to think of funny shirt-themed expressions as I write.

🌻COLOURS OF LUMINOUS JEWELS FOR BRIDESMAIDS 🌻

🌻AND HOME-GROWN GARDEN SUNFLOWERS FOR YOUR WEDDING BOUQUETS

It rained on Anna and Alex’s wedding day but everyone’s smiles were guaranteed with sumptuous summer colours that shone like jewels!

And I’m pretty sure that the grey skies made the bridesmaids’ dresses shine even brighter!

It’s really true! Kai built this beautiful focal point for their ceremony in the secluded silver birch church.
And of course we moved it into a new position so it could be used as a photo frame by the reception terrace in front of of the barn.
And here are Gemma and Kai with their adorable fur baby Winston ( who almost stole the show)!
And that’s not all!
Kai also designed and built a while fun golf arena with the putting stations themed on amazing places they have visited!
U know!
I promise to share those soon!
It puts a whole new slant on a DIY wedding!

Had the best weekend hosting a family reunion with 80+ rellies on my Mum’s side of the family who travelled from all corners of the world.
Ireland 🇮🇪
USA 🇺🇸
New Zealand 🇳🇿
Australia 🇦🇺
Canada 🇨🇦
Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
and England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

There were BBQs, curries, cream teas and a really delicious hog roast - which I totally recommend!

There were games ( quite competitive), songs (not an Irish gathering without singing), Irish dancing (Lord of The Dance standard) (ahem)(!), marshmallows ( the Yanks were in charge of those) and a variety of musicians for dancing and other shenanigans. 🎶☘️🎶✨☘️🎶☘️✨🎶

Oh… and a few beers!

And one of my cousins made us all a fridge magnet and sticker souvenir!

And another cousin ( who is a celebrant in Australia) led an informal memorial service for us in the Silver Birch Church on Sunday.

It was an absolute pleasure to share our for such an important family occasion.

✨BLAST FROM THE PAST✨✨✨

So many of you have asked to see photos of The Old Dairy whilst going through its metamorphosis from an ugly milking parlour to elegantly rustic
that’s just perfect for a gorgeous fun-filled

The transformation took place whilst we were living and working in Tanzania (Gary growing chillies and me teaching at - an international school offering the British curriculum).

We totally trusted the amazing team that lovingly renovated and extended the building and totally transformed it! They’re not on Instagram or I would be tagging them.

And back then, I had no idea AT ALL about social media and my friend .elle helped me set up this account so that we could tell you our story!

And actually, we were not at all sure that we were doing the right thing!

But now, we know, that actually we were!

And when I (Joanna) got back from Tanzania in 2019, the builder’s wheelbarrow and concrete mixer were still in situ and started showing couples around - there was quite a lot of explaining to do!

And now we’re heading towards the 5th anniversary of our first ever

Well, there was a gang from Birmingham (and another from Liverpool) and a delivery of curry on Friday night…
And so their wedding weekend began!

🌸WEDDING PARTY FARMHOUSE BEDROOMS🌸

🌸The farmhouse tour continues!

🌸If you’re having a there are five double bedrooms in the farmhouse; and they’re just perfect for the main

🌸On the ground floor, there’s a double (the pink one) right next door to a loo- so perfect for guests who might find the stairs a bit tricky.

🌸Upstairs, there are 4 more bedroom and two full-sized bathrooms (one en-suite).

🌸The twin room has a lovely oak floor and a south-facing balcony with views of the courtyard, knot garden, wild flower bank and lawns. It has a cathedral ceiling and lovely light for ‘getting ready’ photos.

🌸The largest (orange) bedroom has the purple en-suite bathroom and also has a vaulted ceiling.

🌸The teal bedroom (with the trendy panelling) (I know)(!) overlooks the courtyard. We ripped out the fitted wardrobe (which no one ever used) and added a full length mirror so your guests can admire themselves🤩

🌸The ‘Annie’ (poster on the wall) room overlooks the drive. It used to be our son’s room and is the smallest ( for damage limitation reasons). If you have a teenager, you’ll understand!
I’m thinking of painting the walls a soft terracotta colour. What do you reckon?
