Our summer extravaganza event, Ashfield Day on Sutton Lawn, is back with a bang this weekend (Saturday 5 August, 10.30am - 10pm)!!

This year the event is split into six zones and we will take you through what you can expect in each:
🌟 Entertainment zone 🌟
Here you'll find the main stage:
10:30 Empire Music School
11:30 Star and Stage Musical Theatre school
12:15 Fortitude Danceworks
12:30 Grand Central Choir
1pm Brie
1:30pm Ashley Westlake
2pm Re Take That
3pm – Uk’s best Beyonce Tribute
4pm Robbie Williams Tribute
5pm - George Ezra Tribute
6pm - Taylor Swift Tribute
7pm - Dan Knight show – soloist who sings a combination of 80's, 90's, and 00's bangers.
8pm - ABBA tribute
9pm Ibiza Nights - a live 5-piece band with strings and a vocalist, performing classic dance music from David Guetta to Daft Punk.
Elsewhere in the Entertainment zone - two garden bars, free face-painting, a traditional wooden ferris wheel with a view over the lake, fresh wood-fired pizza, and watch as burgers and sausages are cooked in front of them on the giant 20ft swinging BBQ fire pit.
🎢 Fun For All zone 🎢
Mega funfair, operating from 10.30am-10.30pm, and prize stalls. The popular open-air cinema will be returning, 12pm will be Matilda the Musical, followed by Whitney Houston: I wanna dance with somebody, at 5pm.
Food court, featuring food trucks offering burgers, hot dogs, Greek food, hog roast, fish and chips, loaded fries, noodles, a chicken shack, and a 100% vegetarian and vegan food provider. Alongside this will be the second garden bar.
🎤 Feel Good Families Community zone 🎤
Keep young children entertained, or just escape the hustle and bustle, in the Feel Good Familiesmarquee with free craft activities, and face painting. From 11am – 6pm, community groups will have the chance to show off their skills to the audience, Academy Transformation Trust Further Education Collegewill be doing demonstrations, and Everyone Activewill be running interactive classes and fun challenges. Visitors will be able to enjoy more art from Ashfield arts fest
🚔 Armed Forces and Emergency Services zone 🚔
Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, East Midlands Ambulance Service, the British Army, and Nottinghamshire Emergency Scout Support Teamwill be showcasing their vehicles and engaging with the public.
Thrill-seekers will be able to try their hand at archery and airsoft thanks to Phoenix Airsoft located behind the Armed Forces and Emergency Services zone.
🐩 Animal zone 🐩
The super sniffers will be putting on a display from 11am.
The return of the dog show, which will be taking place from 1.30pm, dogs can be entered into the show on the day. The categories are:
• Best female
• Best male
• Best trick
• Best puppy 12months and under
• Best oldie 8 years and older
• Best in show.
🛹 Extreme Sports zone 🛹
Sutton-based The Asylum Skateparkwill be on hand in the Extreme Sports zone to give demonstrations and have-a-go sessions. Skaters and BMXers will be able to meet the professionals.
🎁 Market Village 🎁
A variety of stalls are lined up selling everything from pet accessories, jewellery, and clothing, to delicious homemade brownies, cakes, and cookies. Several information stalls will be available including ATTFE, Everyone Active, Mansfield and Sutton Astronomical Society at Sherwood Observatory the MakerSpace Ashfield project, Enterprising Ashfield, and representatives from Ashfield District Council.
🚗 Parking 🚗
This year there will be parking available on site for just £5, cash and card are accepted, with limited disabled parking spaces. Access to the car park area will be via Penn Street off Outram Street, please follow event signage in Sutton which will guide you to the car park.
There will be several road closures in place on Saturday 5 August, these include Lucknow Drive, Fairfield Road, and Lawn Lane.
All Sutton town centre Council-owned car parks will be free on the day for the event, these are:
1. Sutton Market, accessed via King Street - 45 spaces
2. Sherwood Place, accessed via New Street - 32 spaces
3. New Street, accessed via New Street - 46 spaces
4. Kings Mill Reservoir, accessed via Sherwood Way South/A617 - 71 spaces, and follow the walk to Sutton Lawn
