A couple of weeks ago I have the pleasure of decorating this beautiful room for a wedding at Tynrhyd near Devils Bridge , a fabulous place for an intimate wedding. The slate blue looked lovely with the white and green flowers.

A quick tour around the garden to find a few flowers for the house has left me hopeful, finally a few booms are starting to show colour, for July its very behind. At least a modest bunch of sweet peas and clary sage have brightened my kitchen table !

Lovely to decorate the beautiful Nanteos Mansion for a wedding last Saturday with the help of Steilio dots Styling. The weather could not have been more perfect for a wedding in such a beautiful setting.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity of working with a great team of people on a 80's wedding photoshoot. 80’s bouquets tended to be small neat and quite structured, not a particularly inspiring era for wedding bouquets, with the obvious exception of the enormous wedding bouquet carried by princess Diana. Pastel colours particularly peach were popular. I thought for a while about how to best tackle the design and decided to keep the bouquet neat , textured but using a very traditional semi crescent shape, fully wired construction which made it easy to hold, light and gave a good amount of movement. The last time I made one of these was during my Society of Floristry final exams. So pleased with the result though I cannot wait to see more pictures from the shoot.

Quite often I am flying around the countryside EARLY on a Saturday delivering wedding flowers, dashing between churches and chapels, organization is defiantly the key! . These were some of the designs that went out last week for two 11am weddings! it was an early start so unfortunately I didn't get any bouquet pictures.

Todays focus- civil ceremony decoration. There is no doubt that in recent years a large number of my wedding are now held in hotels or venues other than churches. It is still important to consider making a focal point for the ceremony be it an arch or more individual focal point. Here's a few ideas..

Todays Focus....Church and Chapel entrances can be large daunting spaces to decorate , most of these designs can all be relocated to areas at the reception. Even keeping it simple with my artificial bay tress can be really effective.

What can I say! What a fabulous colour scheme last weeks bride chose, the bold colours looked amazing with the green bridesmaids dresses and complimented the touches of copper detailing through the venue. Coral peonies; the first of the season, fantastic orange ranunculus and tulips brought to life with purple sweet Williams and tulips. Lovely wedding to play a very little part in. Last weekend I have the joy of making a spring time foraged sheaf style bouquet from the cutting garden, it’s amazing how many textures I had available even though the garden is still slightly dormant. The last of the hellebores , and the first of the lilac with herbs, orange blossom, jasmine,forget me not, heather and soft foliage all picked to bring out a few colours from possibly the prettiest veil I have ever seen!

Wedding arches have been a major trend over the past few years, they make great focal point and are a really nice addition to a civil service or outside space. These are the frames I have available but I'm always happy to decorate a different shape..

A lovely warm welcome from the Aberystwyth and district flower club last night. Thank you for all that joined me on a cold frosty evening. My demo covered some of my New Year’s resolutions and a fresh green and white colour palette. A fantastic club to join for anyone with a love for flowers.

With the turn of the New Year its time to get planning for 2024 weddings! If you have booked for this year and are ready for your consultation appointment please message, I have availability for Saturday the 13th and Saturday the 27th of January. Week day appointments available Monday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.

If you haven't booked and would like to decide if Expressions is for you, I will be at The La Mor wedding fair on the 28th of January and the Wedding and Events fair wedding in Bont on the 4th of February . Defiantly two for the diary for anyone with a wedding or event booked in 2024! If those dates don't suit then message me for an appointment. 😀🌸
