One of my favourite TV promos I ever did had me visit newly discovered WW1 tunnels under the Somme 😲

This was one of the most serious and sombre pieces I did during my TV presenting days. It was a immense privilege to be one of the first people visiting such a historical site.

Gearing up for the England game tonight, remembering the awesome penalty save of David Seaman from a Gary McAllister strike from Euro 96 🤯

Announcing the return of my game show packages 🎉

I'll now be offering to play popular game shows for corporate and private clients including the Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right and my own personal favourite The Generation Game.

My favourite game is called Directors Cut, there's one performer who is facing away from the screen and then you have two or three 'Directors'. The Directors are facing the screen and performer and they need to direct the performer to act out what's on the screen.

In these pics the guy is being directed to dance to 'Time Of Our Life', I thought he did a pretty good job personally 🕺

I didn't think hosting an event in gale force winds was going to be a lot of fun, I was completely WRONG 😁

The was brilliant, from beginning to end. A family friendly race, an endro race, welly wanging, wheel barrow racing and event a tug-of-war at the end 💪

A huge congrats to the Bincombe Bumps event team for putting on such a great event, looking forward to seeing you guys again next year 😀

Can any event be made fun? 🤔

YES IT CAN 👊 Here's a few key tips from my latest blog

A. Setting the Tone

The event host must exude enthusiasm, positivity, and energy. By doing so, they convey a sense of fun and excitement that is contagious, setting the mood for the entire event.

B. Theme Selection

Choosing an appropriate theme can significantly enhance the fun factor of an event. Themes provide a cohesive and immersive experience for guests, making it easier to incorporate various fun elements. Themes can range from retro parties to masquerade balls, and from cultural celebrations to pop culture references.

C. Entertainment Choices

Selecting the right entertainment options is crucial. Bands, comedians, magicians, and other performers can infuse fun into an event. For corporate events, consider keynote speakers who can deliver engaging and entertaining presentations.

3. Engaging Activities and Games

Interactive activities and games are an excellent way to keep guests entertained and engaged. Here are some ideas:

A. Icebreakers

Begin the event with icebreakers that encourage guests to mingle and get to know each other. These can be as simple as trivia questions or more elaborate games like “Two Truths and a Lie.”

How do I manage my commitment to my kids while being self employed? 🤔

I combine BOTH in a way that my daughter feels valued, while also getting to have tons of fun as well 💪

At first I was worried how she was going to react and if it was going to impact my performance in any way. If anything it had the opposite effect and she's been a huge contribution in numerous ways.

She has now shared several stages with me as an event host, standing alongside me in front of thousands of people and has been in 2 of my short films so far (will be 3 by the end of the year) 😁

She now has ambitions to be an actress and has chosen drama as one of her options for her GCSEs.

Kids only become a burden when you stop creating and having fun with them 😁

Here's the key skills ALL Charity Auctioneers should have to ensure they SMASH their clients targets 👊

A charity auctioneer is more than just the person holding the gavel and making bids. They are the linchpin of a successful charity auction, responsible for driving excitement, motivating potential donors, and ultimately exceeding fundraising expectations. The art of charity auctioneering involves a combination of skills, from the ability to inspire giving to understanding the nuances of different auction types. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the key skills and strategies that charity auctioneers need to consistently exceed their client's expectations by raising more money than anticipated.

B. The Importance of Exceeding Client Expectations

For charitable organizations, fundraising events like auctions are crucial for their financial sustainability and ability to carry out their mission. The success of these events largely depends on the charity auctioneer's ability to engage donors, create a sense of urgency, and foster a giving spirit. Exceeding client expectations isn't just about surpassing financial targets; it's about building trust and long-lasting relationships with the charity's stakeholders. When clients witness an auctioneer's skill and dedication in achieving fundraising goals, they are more likely to continue their partnership in the future.

2. Understanding the Charity Auction Landscape

A. Types of Charity Auctions

Charity auctions come in various forms, each requiring a different approach and set of skills. These may include live auctions, silent auctions, online auctions, and more. Understanding the nuances of these formats is crucial to tailor your approach effectively.
