🍽️ Q Stakeholder Dinner 🍽️
Recently, we delivered a memorable dinner event for Q members in London at the fabulous Good Hotel in Royal Victoria Dock.
The hotel prides itself on its sustainability values whilst still offering the best service and catering possible 🌱 which fit nicely with the Q team's objectives!

🛫 Essex Venue Visit 🛫
Last week , the team travelled over to Stansted Airport for a venue visit to the location of an upcoming event in October at the Radisson Blu Hotel!
It was important for us to scope out the rooms for layout and schedule options, identify catering areas, measure locations for branding opportunities, and most importantly get to know the client and the venue management team 🫱🏿🫲🏻
We can't wait to return to deliver the event in a few months! Until then - lots of hard work and planning 🧑💻

✏️We are brushing up our CAD skills for the summer.
CAD (Comupter aided design) is used for drawing out site plans for events, so we are always looking at CAD plans when we are site managing! We've been following the Site Design Ltd course and are loving it!✏️

🔬 As part of our ongoing training to support our roles on site, last week we took part in a day of online training with We spent the day on their 'Responding to drug use at music festivals & outdoor events' course to help us ensure our knowledge was on top form ahead of festival season. We had a fantasic experience and some important convesations with other industry professionals about keeping everyone safe. 🔬

🧑⚕️ Q Lab 🧑⚕️
Last week we were back amongst the team at Q community for our first event with them in 2024!
This Q Lab Workshop celebrated the end of the 2024 cohort's work and allowed them to share their new knowledge with the rest of their group. In a new venue this time around, Goldsmith's Centre hosted us fabulously and we look forward to hopefully returning in the future!
We also introduced pronouns pins for guests to wear if they chose to and we welcomed the return of the delicious Q branded cupcakes from Rachael's Kitchen! 🧁

🍀 The Cheltenham Festival - Paddy Power 🍀
We had the pleasure of partnering with Orange and Lemons to deliver an exciting activation for The Cheltenham Festival last week! 🏇
Situated in the centre of town at the well-loved Brewery Quarter, Paddy Power generously gave out a free pint of Guinness to hundreds of race-goers and got their day off to a great start. We imagined, designed, and sourced the look of the boutique bar and loved working on an event that is so key to Cheltenham's festival calendar 🎪

🎪 5% VAT for Festivals 🎪
AIF UK are asking the UK Government to lower VAT on music festival ticket sales from 20% to 5% for a temporary period of three years.
As of last week, 21 UK festivals have announced having to postpone, cancel, or completely close this year. AIF are predicting that the UK may lose over 100 festivals in 2024 due to rising costs.
We have witnessed the damage that the pandemic, increasing supply chain costs, Brexit, and the energy crisis have caused to the once thriving UK festival scene. In order to keep our most-loved events alive, the government must take action now!

Another year, another amazing GCVA Conference!
NR Events returned to Hilton London Bankside to deliver this event, having worked closely alongside the GCVA team for a number of months beforehand. We managed exhibitors, registration & guestlist, staffing, the long list of hired furniture, and more! 😮💨

✨ The Event Production Show & International Confex 2024 ✨
Last week, Natasha and Alice had the pleasure of attending the Event Production Show and International Confex 2024 at London's ExCeL!
There was plenty to see and be inspired by. A few of their highlights included catching up with fellow events profs that they haven't seen for ages, discovering new suppliers and getting a feel for what's new that we can incorporate into our future work!

🕯️ Worcester Night Light 🕯️
We had great time supporting Severn Arts and Worcester City Council on Light Night 2024 last week!
Our evening were lit up by the Light Walkers, Glitter Belles, Network, and exhibitions at The Arches. Thousands of people descended on Worcester and had a magical time experiencing all of the installations spread across the city, designed by some fantastic artists.

Last month Natasha took a trip to Barcelona for the annual Integrated Systems Europe Conference, showcasing the most cutting-edge audiovisual technology!
We're always thinking about how we can implement new ideas to our projects, whether the events are in-person or online 👩💻

🌍 Trip to Tanzania 🌍
Starting 2024 off with a flying ✈️ start, Natasha jetted off to Tanzania to scope out potential venues for an upcoming event this year!
The scenery around the country was stunning as you can see in the photos! We are looking forward to going back later in the year to deliver this event for The IIED and make a difference in creating a more sustainable world 🪴

☀️ Break The Ice Forum - Gran Canaria ☀️
Whilst we settle into the New Year and get ready for warmer and sunnier days, Natasha is reminiscing on her time in Gran Canaria for the Break The Ice Forum in December 2023!
She had a great time building connections and meeting like-minded events and hospitality professionals taking part in a whole host of activities from snorkelling to a dance class. Hosted by Maspalmomas Palm Beach Hotel, she really enjoyed her time at this event 💃

December was a big contrast in events and their locations!
Natasha flew out to Dubai for COP28 to work once again with REAP (Risk-informed Early Action Partnership) to support multiple of their events as well as additional partner ones. Months of planning created a successful Charter launch which we assisted on numerous aspects such as video & animation delegation, sourcing design, and creating print assets 😮💨
Meanwhile back in Cheltenham, NR also staffed the in-town appearance of Polar Pip for Cheltenham BID to get everyone in the festive spirit! Thank you as always to our team of trusted freelancers 🐻❄️

💥 2023 Best Moment 💥
Emily's best moment of the year was Site Management at Cheltenham Science Festival 🧪
"Four weeks on site is tiring but so rewarding when you get to see a show come together from the first panel of fencing being put up to the morning of the opening day when there is such a buzz in the air. We worked alongside a whole range of people and the job came with a load of great memories!"

Natasha's best moment of the year was co-ordinating the living wall that made the stunning backdrop for the British Film Designers Guild Awards 🪴
"My favourite moment was seeing the room come to life at BFDG awards. After weeks of logicstical wrangling to make the whole concept of a screen in a living wall work, getting the scale right, the sign offs, broken venue lifts for install and the whole crazy idea just coming together was magical. It is such a privilege to work on such a creative event with fantastic suppliers. Although it was slightly scary when the whole wall wall lifted from the floor to hang from the rigging structure!"

Alice's best moment of the year was the Cheltenham Food & Drink Week with Cheltenham BID 🎶
"For me one of my favourite moments of the year was working on Cheltenham Food and Drink week, programming the music was really exciting for me and seeing the show all come together knowing how much work had been put in by myself and the team was really lovely. The great response from the public of all ages across town made all the hard work worth it."
