Happy Birthday Olivia! How gorgeous is this flower windmill? What a lovely and creative bunch Olivia and her friends were, an absolute pleasure to host in the studio 🤩 (and tasty cake too - thanks 😉)
Summer Sessions 2022 🤩
Summer sessions are over for another year, what an epic time we’ve all had! Thank you so much to everyone that has visited the Studio this summer, it’s been an absolute blast and I have been blown away by all the amazing creations that have been made. Give me a wave if you can spot yourself or your creation in this reel 👋🏻
Yesterday’s Splatter Cap Saturday Session was SO MUCH FUN!
We had so much fun at yesterday’s Splatter Hats session!
Saturday Session - Splatter Caps = SO MUCH FUN!
Happy New Year Everyone - tonight I went to bed early and made a thing….. Here’s to a happy, healthy and creative year xx
I’m sorry to say that I’ve had to close the studio today. My back has gone into spasm and I am completely out of action. Thank you to my lovely customers who have been so kind and understanding this morning after receiving the disappointing message that I’ve had to cancel their sessions. I hope to be back to my usual happy and flexible self as soon as possible! Have a lovely weekend gang x
Here’s a little update on the work at the studio so far! Hopefully by the end of this week we will have some hot water 🤞🏼👏🏻
Have a great week all of you x
Hands at work!
My son has had a nasty bug so I’ve not been at the studio much this last week - I’m now frantically printing and packing my cards ready for opening day on Saturday while he enjoys a day of quarantine with his dad!
I feel a bit like dory ..... just keep packing, just keep packing!

Take a little time to be kind to yourself on #worldmentalhealthday
We all lead such crazy and busy lives; juggling family, friends, work, running a home, keeping healthy and having a life...
Sometimes I wish we could rewind the clock a bit, to a time when we could easily disconnect from the world and connect on a real basis.
Connectivity and social media over the last decade has completely changed the life of so many people. It’s the norm now to see people wandering down the street head down, phone in hand oblivious to the real world around them. I have friends (you know who you are) that literally do not put their phones down and it makes me feel a little worried for where it will end!
I really believe that we need to free ourselves from being constantly connected in order to help with our own mental health. Switch off the phone, the tablet, the laptop. Take a bath, read a book, phone a friend, listen to some tunes or take a walk on this glorious sunny afternoon. Remember the simple pleasures in life - the internet will still be there when you get back!
I take this advice on far too much myself - I truly forget to look at my phone for hours at a time and it such a freeing feeling....I’m trying to make a little time each day for my business social media but it’s so hard not to get completely distracted. I was phone free from 8pm for a few weeks and it was truly liberating and I’m sure was one of the main things that helped me when I was struggling with my own mental health.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a bit of social media and have some fabulous online friends - I just think we all need to be a bit more aware of how simple life can be when you are not constantly connected!
Go on, switch off tonight I dare you!

Happy Friday Folks! I had a lovely start to the day - I spent this morning swimming in a lake, with my one time swimming teachers, now my buddies - we had such a giggle! I'm now back home and catching up with my orders.
First up this afternoon....On the guillotine I have a batch of loyalty cards for my favourite indie shop Beeze's
If you are an avid follower you will know that I am a stockist, occasional shop assistant and superfan of the shop. I have been a trader there since it opened last August and Beth has created not only a wonderful platform for us traders but also a lovely community full of support and cheerleaders. If you are local and have not yet been in you must get yourself down there, it really is the most wonderful shop packed full of amazing things, including things from myself and about 50 other small local indie business owners!
Anyway, the point if this post was to tell you all that Beeze's has been nominated as one of Small Business Saturdays #smallbiz100. It's a Flippin huge deal, I'm so proud of Beth and all the hard work she has put in for us all!
Check Beeze's out - follow them on social media, pop in the shop, share the love guys and let's help keep our local Indies going!!
Right - I'm off for a shower, I've just realised I smell like a pond 😂
Final day of #justacard week - Today’s prompt is Happy Dance. Did you know that every time you make a purchase from a small business the owner does a happy dance?! True story 😀
I’m working in my favourite indie shop today Beeze's not only do I do a happy dance when I sell something, I also do it for all my lovely fellow traders and the lovely Beth who was brave enough to take the plunge and open the shop!
Please please please keep supporting your local independent artists, makers and traders. Every purchase you make helps us to keep doing the thing we love the most. You, our lovely customers are A-Maz-Ing ! X
We are absolutely addicted to watching "Betty" the schools bluetit on birdbox cam at the moment. These little Bluetit earrings are available @beezes.devizes and will soon be available online too!
Hey lovelies. I've had a great day working at Beeze's today. I've completely re-jigged my space and added lots of new stock including these juicy watermelon earrings. I will get round to photographing them properly and listing them soon I promise!
What another gorgeous day it was today - I could get used to this!
I managed to sit for an hour and prep my new range of earrings today.... print, cut, shrink repeat. Keep your eyes peeled for some more sneak peeks over the next few days! PS - how do you like my new jumper from @Huxterkids isn’t it gorgeous! I’ll definitely be adding a couple more of these to my birthday list!
Day 3 of @joannehawker #marchmeetthemaker is how you started. I’m late to the party again as I’ve been busy sledging and ⛄️ building before the snow melts.
I have always been arty but always just as a hobby. Once I had my son (5 years ago on the 5th) I took a career break and found myself with lots more time to be creative. It all started with a few lino prints that I made for his bedroom, I started selling prints, running workshops and now I’m dabbling in the world of digital design and illustration. I’m not quite sure where things will end up, but I know I’m having an amazing time, there will be lots more rainbows, cards prints and gifts coming from Paper and Smiles soon.
This is a little time lapse post of my sons birthday card inspired by his current Lego obsession!

Sparkly unicorn glitteryness coming soon.....
Next Saturday I am taking a stamp carving and fabric printing workshop at The Make Arcade in Salisbury. There are still a few spaces left (link on pinned post). You will be learning how to carve your own own rubber stamp using lino cutting tools then let loose to create your own tote bag or tea towel, all materials are provided, come along and join us, there will be cake! Check out my Instagram stories today for a look at the processes involved.
