Read reviews, ask for recommendations, and schedule a consultation to chat with wedding planners. 1. How do I choose the perfect wedding venue? What are the things I should be looking out for?

Choosing the right venue is all about balancing your style, guest list, and budget. Start by identifying your wedding vision—do you imagine a grand ballroom, a rustic barn, or a beachside ceremony? Consider the guest experience, logistics like parking and accessibility, and ask about hidden costs, such as overtime fees or additional setup charges.

2. How do I decide on a wedding menu that all my guests will enjoy? I know some family members have food preferences and allergies.

Creating a memorable wedding menu is about balancing what you love to eat and what will appeal to most of your guests. I recommend offering a variety of options, including a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian option. Working with a great caterer is key so they can create a bespoke menu for you that's tailored to your preferences.

3. How can I make my wedding unique? I'm not sure what to personalise?

Personalisation is all about infusing your love story into every element. This could be custom signs, bespoke cocktails, pesonalised table names or the band playing all your favourite songs. If you have a love for travel, a certain artist or colour then add this into your decor, stationery and floral arrangements.

In this episode, I’ll be answering some commonly asked questions I often hear:

1. How do I choose the right wedding colour palette? I'm undecided between 2 styles...

Choosing the perfect color palette is all about reflecting your personal style and the mood you want to create. Start by considering the season of your wedding, the venue’s aesthetics, and any colours that hold a special meaning for you. I also recommend looking at your wardrobe—often, the colours you naturally gravitate towards can be a great starting point. As your planner, I’m here to help you harmonise these elements into a cohesive and beautiful colour scheme.

2. When should I send out my wedding invitations? I've seen varying timelines and advice online.

Ideally, you should send out your wedding invitations 8 to 12 weeks before the big day. This gives your guests plenty of time to make arrangements, especially if they’re traveling far. If you’re having a destination wedding, it’s best to send out save-the-dates 6 to 8 months in advance, with formal invitations 3 to 4 months ahead. 3. What’s the best way to manage my wedding budget?

Managing your wedding budget can feel overwhelming, but with the right approach, it doesn’t have to be. Start by prioritizing what’s most important to you—whether it’s the venue, the dress, or the catering—and allocate your budget accordingly. It’s also crucial to include a buffer for unexpected expenses. Throughout the planning process, we work closely with you to keep track of costs, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure you stay within your budget while still achieving the wedding of your dreams.

1. How far in advance do I need to book my wedding venue?

Securing your wedding venue is one of the first and most crucial steps in the planning process. Ideally, you should book your venue 12 to 18 months in advance, especially if you have a specific date or season in mind. Popular venues can fill up quickly, so the earlier you lock in your venue the better.

2. Do you have tips on creating a wedding day timeline?

A well-structured timeline include all the small elements you might not have considered before. I recommend you start by working backward from your ceremony time to find out how early you need to be in makeup and you can structure the rest of your morning around this. Remember to build in some buffer time between events to account for any unexpected delays, extra photos, traffic or guests running late.

3. Do you share supplier recommendations?

Yes, I share my curated list of trusted, high-quality suppliers with couples who book my Planning Power Hour or VIP Day with me. Over the last 8+ years in the wedding industry I have formed strong connections with the UK's leading suppliers that I love to recommend to my couples.

4. How long would it take to plan a wedding? What time frame would you advise?

We always advise starting your planning at least a year in advance. If there’s a venue you have your heart set on I would suggest booking your wedding planner and securing your venue as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. At RP Events we plan weddings anywhere from 3 years to 12 weeks in advance.

This depends on the quantity, size, and whether you’re comfortable packing it for your flight. We often recommend having it delivered directly to your venue to minimize stress and ensure everything arrives safely.

2. If I can't make a site visit to my destination wedding venue, can my wedding planner do it on my behalf?

Absolutely! Like many wedding planners, we undertake venue visits on behalf of our couples to ensure the space aligns with your wedding vision. This allows us to assess the venue, accessibility and location as well ask ask the venue staff all the important questions.

3. Do I need wedding insurance?

Always, yes! Wedding insurance is essential for protecting your investment against unforeseen circumstances. From vendor cancellations to weather disruptions, insurance provides you with the security that your special day will go on as planned, no matter what.

4. Any tips for finding wedding suppliers abroad?
