Fabulous MCOCO Events LTD at voco St. John's Solihull last evening. Wonderful to see colleagues and suppliers for long overdue catch ups! Wonderful to hear the updates on venues, refurbs, new contacts and opportunities to work together. We love to add new venues to our port folio and revisit venues that we haven't used for a while.

Great to have Q Hotels back on our radar. We’ve managed a couple of site visits, one being Norton Park Hotel, Spa & Manor House Park and yesterday Belton Woods Haven’t been there for a few years and our wonderful Sales contact Joanne Horbin told us that it was now in the Q collection and had had a refurb during the pandemic. It was lovely to see the progress and it has really lifted what was a tired venue. Great team, Neal the GM is at the helm overseeing all the changes and encouraging new staff and practices. The conference suite is flexible with wonderful outdoor space too, fabulous pool, with 8 treatment rooms to the spa and 2 golf courses. 3 miles from Grantham train station and a 1 hr 10 minute journey from Kings Cross for city travellers. Only a few miles off the A1. A big mention to Harry, a wonderful young up and coming hospitality prof, whom I’m sure one day, will be a fabulous GM or Hotel Owner! Lisa showing her age asked for a “floater” coffee, apparently not in vogue anymore! But Harry went off to the bar and made a beautiful one and delivered it with such style! He hadn’t made one before but did a wonderful job! We say bring them back! Nice option when you don’t want dessert! Fabulous food and great bar/dining area, we would be delighted to send some clients here. It’s really nice to see owners putting in the effort to refurb some of the venues in what have been very trying times and worth getting out and about out of office to see theses venues and share our knowledge and expertise with our clients. ThankQ for a wonderful stay!

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. There are so many women who inspire us, but we immediately thought of Jo Malone of Jo Loves, as we are passionate about fragrance, for her starting from the kitchen table, having a dream, being dyslexic, not having many exams behind her and growing her empire. Then giving back from her rewards, overcoming her personal battle with breast cancer let alone starting again from nothing, not even her name with her new brand Jo Loves! She stood up for what she believed in! Anita Roddick for being ahead of her time with Bodyshop with wanting to change things, throughout her life, Roddick lent her name and time to numerous causes, she campaigned for debt relief for Third World nations, the rights of indigenous peoples in South America and the preservation of the rain forest, to name but a few and of course again ahead of her time with promoting sustainability with her products! Florence Nightingale founder of modern nursing and speaking out and standing her ground in horrific circumstances & Marie Curie for her discovery of radium and polonium, and her huge contribution to finding treatments for cancer. Of course, we all have friends, family members and colleagues that we all know are an inspiration. Whether overcoming abuse, grief, illness, racism, giving to community, speaking out to support those that need help. Whether you are a highflyer, shop assistant, cleaner or stay at home mum, we salute you. The terrible situation in Ukraine and the women facing unthinkable turmoil and uncertainty, may they find strength and light in uniting together. To our younger generations lets hope we are teaching that you can achieve anything you want to, you are equal, you can speak out and be believed, that compassion and working together and not against each other is the way forward. This isn’t about being feminist by the way, we love men just as much and will hold a door open for a man as much as we would a woman and happy to have the door held open too or take a compliment or three! But today is about the ladies! What female inspires you & why?

Ok it is American but we love the idea of National Be Heard Day. Recognising that small businesses strive to be heard over the big business dominated noise!
As a small business and through covid many of us have collaborated together with other small businesses to strengthen and recognise the importance of the personal touch we can bring to our clients, delivering unique events. There is a place for everyone but when you buy from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance!

THANK YOU, always nice to know we are getting things right, means a lot to receive this review today. After a tough couple of years with Covid and determined to keep going in our fabulous industry, this spurred us on. Happy Faces! Whether a small training day for 10 to a 4 day conference for 450 people, we are here to help with ideas, implementation and event management.

Review:
I worked with Lisa & Gail for many years as they planned our annual away days for the company I used to work for. The ladies are absolutely lovely and always very approachable. Each year the venues they sourced were a big hit for the company and are still spoken about to this day with fond memories. From start to finish their organisation was flawless & the on-site assistance on the event day itself was always invaluable. I look forward to working with Lisa & Gail again when I start my new venture. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Great to see our face to face events and team building days coming back! With Eunice and other storms blowing over, spring is near and time to blow your staff's cobwebs away and breathe new life and vigor into their working day and environment. Not to be under rated our treasure hunts are fabulous fun, engaging and a softer option to get employees that are nervous to meet inside in larger numbers out in the fresh air. Different to other offerings, all of ours are event managed with twists and turns and can be even made bespoke to your branding, industry and core message for perhaps a conference, team cohesion, training or product learning. Bit nearer to home and in Cambridge today. Fantastic to meet up as always, with the charming Lorenzo Puleo National Account Director for Hilton along with Naomi and Charlotte at Cambridge Hilton. Fabulous array of meeting rooms and social spaces, executive lounge, concierge parking, great standard bedrooms, double bed twins and fabulous suites. Wonderful chef and dining options! Super location for Corporate and Leisure! Versatile space for our events for when we want to do something very different or add our unique play on things! Look forward to working with them.

Well they say a picture paints a 1000 words....what a diverse few days getting our thinking caps not only for last minute virtual events from cancelled face to face ones, but planning for Christmas 2022! Getting in Pipers for Burns Night to fabulous magicians and fun fortune tellers. Then hoping to work with the amazing Chris Cox off the TV to Hanging Basket, Chocolate and fragrance ordering, booking handling for Ideal 2021 Artificial Intelligence for a wonderful Prof at Manchester University to Event Managing. 007 missions, fragrance impossible to critter eating! Yikes! Our days are varied and you never know what is going to happen next, but we love it that way! Variety is the spice of life!

Erm Lisa needs a lot more classes!! Don't think Steve need worry that she will start her own classes! What a laugh and enjoyed by all in the UK and abroad. Looking for online fun it’s not too late!

Monday Miss You………………..so still a long way off from being normal and we have been thinking about some of our favourite venues to work with coming up for Christmas. The Montague is a clear winner all year round but Christmas is so special there, its individuality, the staff and service, the food, the wine, the cocktails, the rooms, ski lodge and leopard bar to name but a few! Make it a very special place. Hope to be working again with them soon.

4 more sleeps until Advent Calendars! Not the the chocolate variety! We've been preparing our virtual ones! Having dress rehearsals with some of our acts today. Virtual has come on a long way from the 1st lock down! UK and European employees will be having a treat each day with an act, master class or show. From magic, art, mind reading, fortune telling to laughter classes and more. Still bringing staff together when the large annual bash can't take place. We work with some fantastic acts and suppliers and are bursting with ideas of how to work with them and make your events stand out. Virtual or face to face!
