Think on it this way even if Halving the figures below was (and I’m not saying it is)a true depiction of the quantities required it’s still way too much for just to say we’re saving the earth it’s all a load of crap to line the pockets of big business fact

For those of you thinking of buying an electric car to save the planet just read this.

This is a Tesla model Y battery.
It takes up all of the space under the passenger compartment of the car.

To manufacture it you need:
--12 tons of rock for Lithium (can be extracted from sea water)
-- 5 tons of cobalt minerals (Most cobalt is made as a byproduct of
the processing of copper and nickel ores. It is the most difficult
material to obtain for a battery and the most expensive.)
-- 3 tons nickel ore
-- 12 tons of copper ore

You must move 250 tons of soil to obtain:
-- 26.5 pounds of Lithium
-- 30 pounds of nickel
-- 48.5 pounds of manganese
-- 15 pounds of cobalt

To manufacture the battery also requires:
-- 441 pounds of aluminum, steel and/or plastic
-- 112 pounds of graphite

The Caterpillar 994A is used for the earthmoving to obtain the essential minerals. It consumes 264 gallons of diesel in 12 hours.

Finally you get a “zero emissions” car.

Presently, the bulk of the necessary minerals for manufacturing the batteries come from China or Africa. Much of the labor for getting the minerals in Africa is done by children! If we buy electric cars, it's China who profits most!

BTW, this 2021 Tesla Model Y OEM battery (the cheapest Tesla battery) is currently for sale on the Internet for $4,999 not including shipping or installation. The battery weighs 1,000 pounds (you can imagine the shipping cost). The cost to replace Tesla batteries is in $US

Model 3 -- $14,000+ (Car MSRP $38,990)
Model Y -- $5,000–$5,500 (Car MSRP $47,740)
Model S -- $13,000–$20,000 (Car MSRP $74,990)
Model X -- $13,000+ (Car MSRP $79,990)

It takes SEVEN years for an electric car to reach net-zero CO2. The life expectancy of the batteries is 10 years (average). Only in the last three years do you begin to reduce your carbon footprint. Then the batteries have to be replaced and you lose all the gains you made in those three years.

Let that sink in.

Well we’re nearly at the end of another year been a tough year especially if your involved in trying to feed the nation but that’s for another day!

Memory popped up today
On Fb can hardly believe it’s 23 years since I first took HGun at home international in Hollow farm wearing the green jacket under Icpsa and its 18 years ago since I won it again in 2005 in Wales wearing Ucpsa colours
I think I’m right I saying that hasn’t been done before shooting for two different associations great memories and great people to shoot with
Every time I look at these memories good and not so good come back 👍

Right Rant time in the last 6 months of this year our paid milk price has fallen from 50 pence per litre ex farm ( high butterfat 4.17) to now a disgraceful 28.5p per litre
Correct me if I’m wrong has the supermarket dropped the price to the consumer by 2 p let alone 22p a litre this is putting farmers and their families in very precarious position with that bad weather crop qualities deteriorating every day fields being destroyed useless and now the added kick in the cahoonies milk processors twisting the knife even further what is wrong with farmers and hardly a squeak out of one of them personally I’ve had enough of this crap if starvation and non food security is what you want well your ten steps closer to achieving it good luck to all who take farmers for granted when there’s no milk for your cornflakes or tea or whatever you’ve only yourselves to blame you all let it happen slowly killing us off

This popped up on my Facebook memories today Been 8 years (2015 in Texas) since I fired a shot at s***t with 71 straights recorded officially in competition and a further 21 in practice around different shooting venues inc worlds in San Antonio over 7 different world shoots I’m pretty fortunate to have been involved in a sport and coached a few along the way too, and still enjoying that part of the journey.
I always said once I stopped enjoying competing the gun would be parked up still nice memories and few friends and enemies made along the way 😂

Some big names on this the George Wilkinson trophy and one more to add well done everyone who shot the competition yesterday and to Stephen Massey who made his bit of history in a great shoot off tbh I thought it was never going to end and it was costing a fortune in clays (only joking) lads and ladies was nice to see everyone enjoying the day and what weather not a breath of wind well cold wind anyway and it stayed dry. Good to have all 4 layouts being used and enjoyed till next time enjoy your shooting while you can 👍
