We have some BIG news...that we need to share with you. We are moving on from the Sorrel Horse at the end of April (Sunday April 28th being our last day). After three wonderful years its time to say goodbye to our little village pub with a seafood twist! It has been a rollercoaster but we have loved every second!

We are so proud of what we have achieved over the last three years and we are so thankful to everyone of you for supporting us. We couldn’t have done it without you, our brilliant team of staff and our wonderful suppliers. If you would like to join us for one last seafood feast at the Sorrel Horse you better book now as we don’t have long left! We will be bringing back some of our classic dishes to the menu that you won’t want to miss out on.

On May the 1st we will be handing the keys over to the new landlord who will continue to supply you with delicious food and drink.

Our Story

The Sorrel Horse is a quintessential English country pub with tap drawn cask ales, thatched roof, tiled floors and an original bar billiards table.

Nestled in Shottisham, a picturesque rural Suffolk village, it’s the perfect stopping off point for exploring the area.

In August 2011, a community led project purchased the Sorrel Horse with the aim of ensuring the pub’s long-term viability for the local and wider community. This has been a huge success and culminated in Flag of Suffolk (managers of the nearby Alderton Swan), taking over the management of the pub from 4th November 2017. We believe this partnership offers the best long term security for our fantastic local pub and also ensures our most loyal and valued customers continue to enjoy a friendly warm welcome, excellent service, great beer and glorious pub grub.
