Working on the Around India in 80 ingredients today (photo from styling stage )
And it's a pleasure . I love grinding and roasting fresh spices and the smells and flavours are out of this world .
This will be the last Travel Club of 2024 (to make way for all things Xmas) and it will return in January 2025 . This one has been the most popular alongside the Japanese one ,so they will both make a return next year .

Delivery will be tommorow am to pm so please check in if you need a rough estimate of delivery .

Thank you so much for supporting my vision of, as authentic as can be, vegan food from around the world. I love travelling with you and I look forward to our adventures next year

I LOVE this throwback picture of a market at the Vault Artist Studios in ..wait for it 2018!!
I always loved the eyes backdrop and was very sad when it had been painted over the following year .
The table is all very low key and budget basic...but I was really only getting started and only part time .
Note paper bunting and chalk board 😅
But it was such an amazing event ....the Vault always has been like that .
Great people,great stalls and Im back again on the 7th/8th December

SQUEÈEEE just seen the first draft of the new Xmas video and it's looking great .
Rambles With My Camera is a wee genius and I'm so lucky he can do all that for me.

So it is deffo going live on the 9th alongside the updated order forms etc on the website .

I also wanted to say I appreciate Christmas is a very tough time for many and that ,as a business, it can look insensitive going on about it so early.
So I understand if it is triggering or annoying. But please know that I do my best also to help out in the background, as much as I can .
And if anyone feels they need to reach out for any kind of help or advice on budget planning (for example) Then please do.

And if you,my lovely frenz want to share any links here for help during the approach to Xmas ,especially links for foodbanks and charities that help ..please share them in the comments

Look at how stunning this poster is for Vault Artist Studios Xmas Market .
I've been so very lucky to have been invited in from the start when they had their amazing set up at Tower Street thanks to Adam Turkington and the team .

Now ,for the second year in a row,they are using the stunning church at Carlisle circus and if you haven't been inside,you need to come and see it. And grab some food and support some amazing local artists

This lovely post is from the Frock Around The Clock Fairs team and will be the first of the festive markets
23rd November 12 to 5 pm
I'll share the menu a little closer to the time,but I'm introducing a couple of new luxurious treats and xmassy sweet stuff too

You need to get along early to catch the full range! We are so excited to have Truffleupagus Vegan Yums join us at Belfast Castle on Saturday 23rd November 12-5pm for The Magical Christmas 2-Day Handmade Fair. These yummy vegan treats ALWAYS sell out fast! So catch them if you can. ❤

Last day of the seven sexy soups and its a gorgeous spicy broth with dumplings and rice noodles
2 large bowls

I've also suggested a few other bits you could add to make it even more LUSH

I started by frying off and steaming some yo sushi dumplings . It can be any brand of course and if you have time you can make your own .

I then cooked and rinsed the rice noodles and set them to one side

In a heavy bottom pan Saute 2 cloves garlic, a thumb of grated ginger , and a red chilli in 1 tblsp coconut oil . Add 4 sliced mushrooms and a half red pepper and some salt and stir fry until softened. You can at this point add any of your fav veg eggplant,broccoli, celery or cabbage ..or not .

Add 1 full can of coconut cream and add 1 full can of stock. Rinse the can of coconut cream with water and pour into the soup. . I made my own with the mushroom powder from day 1.
Bring to a slow simmer and let the veggies cook
In a mixing jug add 1 tblsp goujijang paste, 2 tblsp dark soy, 1 tblsp sesame oil and 1 tblsp rice Vinegar and 1 tsp dark brown sugar and mix well
Add to the broth and cook for 5 or so minutes to let the flavours marry

Place a handful of cooked rice noodles into a large bowl. Top with lashings of the veggie and spice broth and top with the dumplings

I grated carrot and green onion to top

But you could also add
Black sesame seeds
Crumbled baked tofu
Peanut chill sauce
Chopped coriander
Fresh beansprouts

Enjoy

Lovely steamy mug of Lentil and Chestnut soup with Sage...is like Xmas (sorry,that word again) in a bowl

So so easy ,5 minutes prep,blendy blendy, and it's good to go .

1 cup red lentils

1 pint stock or 1 stock cube (I use Kallo which is also gf)
1 medium onion chopped
2 cloves garlic peeled and chopped
Salt and pepper
1/2 can light coconut cream
1 to 1 and a half tsp dried Sage

Place everything except the coconut cream, into a heavy pot,bring to boil and simmer for 20 mins.
until the lentils are soft

Place into a blender with the coconut cream and blend. Season to taste and return to pot.
Add half a bag of chestnuts (pictured) either halved or quartered and heat through

No picture of soup today as I was out with the girls for lunch
But here is the recipe

Romesco Soup

Roast 1 medium onion and 2 medium red peppers on a flat oven tray with a drizzle of olive oil and salt until the peppers are soft with little blackened skins

Add peppers and onions to a pint of stock, 1 clove garlic ,1tsp smoked paprika ,1 tsp balsamic Vinegr and 100ml pasata and simmer for 10/15 mins
Adjust seasoning .

Place in a blender and add 100g smoked almonds
And blend until smooth

Return to the pot ,add a swirl.of coconut cream if desired and season to taste

1st November !!!!

I love this time of year ....the stillness of the air (sadly not much birdsong tho) the dark evenings and not feeling like you need to be doing something exciting and going out out as its perfectly acceptable to stay home

I am going out out tommorow night tho and the gig doesn't start till 11....yes P.M.

How do we all feel about this middle of the night event?
Personally I love being able to get the last bus home ,no chance here .

Sorry its a bit late today

Creme of curried parsnip soup with chick pea (or any white bean)

Roast 3 chopped parsnip with
1 medium onion for 20 mins of a flat baking sheet with a pinch of salt and a little drizzle of olive oil

Once softened and slightly golden transfer to a pot with 1 pint of stock, 1 tsp curry powder (this is just for a mild hit not to overpower the lovely sweet parsnip ) salt and pepper 1/2 can of light coconut cream and 1 clove garlic . Simmer for 5 minutes

Blend until smooth . As parsnips are a very starchy vegetable this can look a little gummy.. add a bit more water to loosen it and make it more pourable .
Add 1/2 can drained white beans and heat through
Season to taste and top with a little bit of the roast parsnip

A gf,vegan, soy and nut free lemon wedding cake and accompanying strawberry vanilla cupcakes for a stunning couple who got wed in New Orleans (I just know their party is gonna be the coolest affair)

A chocolate / chocolate cake 3 layer

To Seven Coffee 3 types of sosage rolls including a brand new herby black bean
And choc orange cookie bombs

And to Ragin Ramen

Carrot cakes with pumpkin spice buttercream
Yuzu cheesecakes
And a Vegano rocher (you gotta get down to try it)

And some samples heading out to a couple if places to try to secure new orders
And of course. The free Vegano Rocher cake being called on Friday at noon ###

This is a delicious hazelnut ganache cake topped with hazelnut creme ,with a biscuit base and extra lashings of roasted hazelnut and chopped wafer .

Day 3 of souper slurpy soups
Lentil, sweet potato and coconut

1 8oz cup lentils
1/2 can light coconut cream
1 onion
1 cloves garlic
1/2 inch ginger peeled
2 small sweet potato or 1 medium cubed
1 pint stock
Salt and pepper
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Place everything bar the coconut milk into a heavy pot and bring to boil. Season.
Don't even worry about chopping up garlic and ginger as this is all going to be blended
Simmer for 20 mins and place in the blender .
Add coconut cream and blitz...season to taste and top with flaked almonds or coconut
Easy peasy

Day 2 of soup recipes and also lunch break from filming .

Creme of Tomato,chick pea and basil.

Another souper simple recipe

1 onion
2 gloves garlic
Salt and pepper
1/2 carton of pasata
1 tblsp balsamic Vinegar
1 tsp sugar
3/4 pint of stock or one stock cube and 3/4 pint water
150fl oz coconut cream
Olive oil
Handful of fresh basil
1 can drained chick peas

Add 2 tblsp olive oil into a heavy based pot and Saute onion and garlic with a pinch of salt until softened. Add the sugar snd balsamic and Saute for a further 5 minutes until unctuous and sticky
Add the stock,pasata and season to taste with salt and pepper .

Place it all into the blender with the fresh basil and coconut cream and blitz
Return to the pot to reheat and add chick peas

Serve with a few drops olive oil and coconut cream and garlic sourdough

Soooo excited for tommoro as Rambles With My Camera and I are making our Xmas video .
I cannot wait for you to see the Black forest Trifle ,the New Vegano Rocher cake and the brand new *Beef* Wellington studded with black peppercorns that are all NEW additions to the Christmas menu this year
The website goes LIVE to place orders on the 9th November (all going to plan)
There will be all of the Xmas faves,pies,nut roast,all the veggies, desserts, Gravy AND a huge section of home made options for the freezer ,including lasagnes,quiche,Moussaka and so much more so that you just simply don't have to lift a finger over Xmas .
All own recipe, all home made .
So ......the cherries are marinating away in brandy...the seitan is resting....the hazelnuts are roasting and it will all be put together in the morning !!!
