At UBKB, we don’t do dull, and this matchup is the furthest thing from it. Get ready for an explosive fight as two heavy hitters collide for the vacant UBKB British Light Heavyweight title.

In one corner, we have the man, the myth, the legend ‘Disco Dave facing off against the battle hardened and experienced Marti Barnes.

These aren’t just any fighters, they are warriors.

Disco Dave, former UBKB British Cruiserweight Champion, has already proven himself in an unforgettable trilogy against Luke Atkin.

Now, he’s hungry for more gold, determined to bring another belt home to his son, Sebastian, as he is determied to conquer the Light Heavyweight division.

But standing in his way is Marti Barnes, a man who knows exactly what it takes to win. Marti is no stranger to title success, having already tasted glory as a former Light Heavyweight champion in the Pit.

A veteran of countless battles, both in the pit and at the pro level, Marti has fought in some of the toughest arenas, including the BKFC’s squared circle. A man who’s motto is ‘Too Infiniti and Beyond’ is not take be taken lightly !

As everyone has witnessed, our Light Heavyweight Champion, Liam ‘The Grimsby Gripper’ Gell, entered bare-knuckle boxing just a few short years ago as a raw novice.

Since then, he has achieved the stuff of dreams, delivering outstanding performances in every single fight and showing that he has one of the biggest hearts in the sport without a doubt.

None of his bouts have ever been dull, always action packed heart stopping exciting wars!

In an unprecedented rise, he fought his way to becoming the UBKB British Bare-Knuckle Champion—a feat that is no small accomplishment

Despite facing setbacks, including two last-minute cancellations from the same opponent, Liam’s resilience never wavered.

Now, Liam has made the personal decision to retire from bare-knuckle boxing and vacate his title.

They do say the best time to retire is when you’re at the top of your game, and we respect his choice.

At UBKB, we are saddened to see Liam step away. Alongside his brother Adam, his dad Clive, and the dedicated Grimsby supporters who always stood by him, Liam has become part of the UBKB family and will remain.

We hold him in the highest regard as the warrior he truly is!

We are also proud to announce that Liam will make an appearance at our final show in May 2025, where he will enter the ring to present the belt to the new champion, honoring the sport like the true champion he is.

We have matched the bout for Liams title in what will without doubt be an all out epic war between two absolute warriors, both of who have tasted title success!!
