The bits we worked on aren't featured in this trailer, so we're looking forward to seeing them in the film itself.

Butterbee's new belt is complete! All because I picked up a fab new buckle from Max Kane (he was next door to us at Gem's at Larpcon) (We're a sucker for gubbins) and a new belt had to be made in the style of said new belt buckle 😆

Bit of a change in making genre again today as I wanted to share a personal project for my trading character at Orion’s Sphere, basically because it’s cool and I’m excited lol.
I got some leggys at Larpcon from Max Kane with the intention of losing the New Rocks from Tubbs’s kit and instead, upgrading the shin coverage.
Here’s what I did and the process of how I did it using my trusty, now much cleaner airbrush (thanks Harms).
First was the unseen prep of keying up the surface so the paint would take to them better.
Lastly, the feature of the post apoc washing basket in the impromptu photo sesh (thanks Gem x)

We've just finished making some gorgeous premium character card holders for sale at events through, Gem's Trading!
These are real embossed and antiqued leather, which have been lovingly hand stitched.

Today's offering is a really sweet war-hook! We were asked to do some classic Hack and Slash designs alongside some of the newer designs we've been producing. So we cracked out the very old template and produced another one, but using some newer techniques.
This is a frightening looking prop, and is used in much the same way as an axe, but if in doubt, just turn it around.
We're really looking forward to latexing this one as that's when the design really comes to life 😁

Here at Hack and Slash we don’t just make latex weapons, we also do a lot of leatherwork too, which can usually be found at GemsTrading at events and down the caves at Labyrinthe.
These are ‘power Counters’ which are a collaborative effort between ourselves and Gem’s Trading to be an option for people who prefer not to use spell rips and instead prefer a more environmentally friendly option for counting their spells and ability points.
We’ve been busy making them for when things properly kick off events wise and now have a good selection of these wrist mounted counters which can be found at Gem’s.

Today I've been looking at upgrading some of Butterbee's (my character) kit for Empire.
I picked up a gorgeous buckle from Max Kane and felt I wanted to echo the design throughout a new belt and horns headgear.
So the leathering and stamping began!

We're just getting into the flow of the new workshop and things are starting to turn over again. So we wanted to begin communicating more online, starting with showing you some new swords, in the grey, which are in process ATM for a post-apoc style.
Behold! London Road, Cherry Road and Cromwell Road! Named to be more memorable.
Will be available at larpgems.com once they're completed 😄

Earlier this year I bought myself a pair of 'Cat, Alpha' shoes which didn't take long to break. I was a bit gutted as I quite liked them. So I did a small redesign and remade the top part of the shoes. They're made of leather, foam and recycled bike tyres. I've been doing a lot of work with recycled tyr armour recently for Gem's Trading, so that's where I got the idea from to include it in this design.
These were primarily reworked to fit a post apocalyptic setting for when I work at events, although they're comfy and satisfy the alternative part of my soul, so might wear normally too 😆
Anyway, thought you'd all like to see some IC footwear! 😁

So, we did a test batch before looking into doing any commissions. This is to get to grips with how we do things in this new space; getting used to where things are; where best to set things up when in use; lots of niggly little things which have to be overcome with a new setup.
We've done it and learned, and we're happy to say that the skills we have also came as second nature 😁
So here's some pictures of the bits we did from this moderately sized batch, all of which are available from Gems Trading at Empire this weekend!
We're looking forward to getting our teeth into the coming projects!

We did a test batch to see if the new set up worked and we've been pleased with the results! Here's how the bone sword came out, with its compadre 😆

Today we've been setting up the extractor filter unit. The design is very basic and rigged together to allow air to flow through but catch all the particles. It's positioned low down to drag any vapours from head height and disappear them. Also we wanted to put the commissions board on the other side as space is in short supply as it's not a massive workshop. It is however, very well thought out space.
The tube is 12" diameter and connects to the actual extractor, which can them be placed wherever we want in the general area. There's then a second tube which connects to the back and leads outside to disburse any vapours ect.
When it's not in use, the tube can be hitched up out the way with a simple reusable cable tie.

Today we had the lovely Gem in, bashing rivets into leather body armour, and we had a bit of a test build of a latex weapon (prop) using the new setup.

Tasty! The beast has arrived! This will enable us to breathe better in the latexing room 😆 Now to install it, which will happen next week.

And stained, drying nicely in the heat :) they dry a nice uniform colour instead of blotchy, which is how they look in this picture. Next for these is antiquing and to have top coats applied.

We're still working on setting up the workshop, but have to wait for some equipment to turn up. So we found some time to do some leatherwork / leather details to keep things moving. Here's a pic of some of what we've worked on. It's so nice to have some space again :)

We're beginning to fit out the latex room with clips and hooks. Pleased to say we've got really far with it and will continue with it after CP and Empire. It's really coming together and is very exciting!
