Yesterday, the wonderful staff at Weymouth Crematorium welcomed me and proudly showed me around their beautiful chapel. Not only does it look beautiful, but it also has a beautiful feel, which is so important.
Now that we live in Swanage, Weymouth is closer, and I am hoping to be able to help families to say goodbye to their loved ones here.
It's always an honour to be asked to do this and one I never take for granted. 💙

Many people comment, "I don't know how you do your job," and my reply is always the same.
"It isn't easy, but it is an honour because I get to help wonderful families at the saddest of times, to say farewell to their loved one in a way that is truly special."
I also get to be me - someone who cares deeply and needs to help people during the best and worst moments in life.
Choosing to use a funeral celebrant allows a family to grieve and say goodbye in a personal and fitting way. The biggest compliment I receive is a family saying that their loved one "would have loved that!"
A job well done! ❤️

Saying goodbye to a wonderful lady who loved pink this week meant a new scarf was required. Celebrating her long and fulfilling 99 years on earth with her nearest and dearest in the most moving service with beautiful music and carefully chosen words was an absolute privilege. Mixing traditional elements with a joyous celebration of her life, we were able to honour the very essence of her. Precious ❤️

Everyone's grief journey is different and it is not unusual to have a 'moment ' when you least expect it. A smell, some music, a meal, a visit or an occasion can all evoke that painful feeling of loss when you least expect it.

For me, my most recent moment was the realisation that my mum would never see how happy this job makes me. She would have been so proud and a little bemused too, that 'our Jayne' was a celebrant (they weren't really a thing when she was still with us).

sums this up beautifully as she so often does. Thank you, Lucy, for getting it!

When you have a moment, breathe and be thankful for the love you felt and still feel - it's a precious thing and a sign of the love you shared. 💔💕

What a day! I had the privilege of leading a Celebration of Life for the most amazing man who loved his life and lived it to the full. His wonderful family and friends said goodbye today in a room that he had enjoyed playing bridge in through stories, laughter, smiles, tears, dancing and a champagne toast. 🥂

Creating a ceremony that reflected exactly who he was and was something he would have enjoyed being at was the aim and together we did it!

My heart is full. My coffee stop on the way home shows the face of a celebrant who feels so lucky to have been part of a unique and very special goodbye.

Remembering him and the grief his death brought to my family that day. Still love him. Still miss him. Still remember him 💙

This morning, I had the honour of talking about a wonderful man as his wife and I planned a celebration of his life.
A life well lived needs a special ceremony that is as unique as he was.

Using an independent funeral celebrant like me allows a family to do exactly that.

Decisions, decisions, decisions! There are so many things to decide on and arrange when you are getting married and one of the biggest and most important is the type of ceremony you want for your special day. How people get married is changing and couples can choose to have their wedding day, their way, so don't let anyone tell you you can't.
Licensed venues offer a legalised marriage performed by a registrar but some rules and legalities have to be followed and choice is limited or non-existent. You can also choose to use your own celebrant at a licensed venue or in any venue of your choice and although they cannot legalise your marriage they can make the ceremony uniquely yours as a wedding all about your choices.
Getting the legal side of marriage completed in a Register Office before your big day allows your celebrant-led wedding day to focus on celebrating you and your relationship.
It's your love, your life your wedding, your choice, so make a day full of your choices and please get in touch if I can help you do exactly that.
