EXQUISITE COUNTRY WEDDING with style….

A huge amount of meticulous planning went into creating this incredible wedding reception at the bride’s parent’s house.

The garden was measured out to the nearest few centimetres and the square tent was erected centrally. The pure linen cloths were brought up from a London supplier, we had meetings with hire companies to play around with table settings, meetings with the florist to fine tune the exact shades of flowers and candles. A tasting with the caterers helped to firm up the menu, and this was just for the dinner part of the celebrations.

The nightclub tent was built on top of their swimming pool which also required some fastidious planning!

Why use the services of a wedding planner? Because they take care of so much of the detail, and you only get involved with the pleasurable decisions to be made! Wedding planners who have many years experience of working at the quality end of the industry, such as myself with over 30 years under my belt, can guide you and remove so much stress.

BEST OF BRITISH PARTY: And so this incredible choreographed party continued what with exciting modes of British transport for guests to arrive in, a British Brass Band, and, much to my surprise, I was asked to source a Dalek (an Inspired Event Management ‘first’) to schmooze with the guests during their bowl food supper (fish & chips, bangers & mash, Asparagus Pea & Parmesan Risotto)!

Initially I got a quote from an agency for a Dalek and despite my client confirming by return that she wished to go ahead, the Dalek was then not available. Never one to give up, I began researching Daleks in the vicinity of the party! Before I knew it I was part of a Facebook Dalek building group - which led to me finding the most obliging Dalek guru who brought his pride and joy RAD along to the party! I feel honoured to have now been made a member of The Norfolk & Suffolk Dalek Society!!!

The party continued inside and out with the swimming pool covered with red, white and blue helium balloons at different heights above the water, Shepherd Hut loos, British puds including Spotted Dick, Eton Mess & Lemon Meringue Pie.

The most brilliant Britpop band got the whole crowd dancing - even Bojo and Mrs T let their hair down on the dancefloor!

The party continued the following day with a Landrover Defender arriving to serve coffees and pastries.

A hog roast and salads etc fuelled the guests before some very competitive ferret racing rounded the weekend off! It was a very close race between Bad Boy Bubba and Sexy Beast!

Thankyou to my client for allowing me to share some images of this INCREDIBLE weekend, whilst keeping guest identities under wraps.

It was a pleasure to organise these celebrations - as you can see Inspired Event Management will always give 110% to try to ensure that we achieve all you ask of us!

BEST OF BRITISH PARTY: Continuing from previous post….some guests arrived in Del Boy’s Reliant Robin - it was hilarious every time this well-loved old car drove into the party!

Meanwhile, a 25 piece brass band played during reception drinks - British music of course including the National Anthem!

No detail is too extreme for us to organise to make your celebration personal to you, and hopefully to exceed your expectations too!

Our client asked that no guests take photos at the party, nor post anything on social media - so we are grateful to be able to post just a few photos of select moments from this epic party, whilst keeping guest’s identities hidden.

CONSIDERING BOOKING A WEDDING OR PARTY PLANNER? Let me assure you that it’s highly unlikely that you will regret this decision! Especially a company such as Inspired Event Management led by Jenny Loyd who has over 30 years experience of working at the quality end of the industry.

We will guide you over the months of planning your celebration, we do not ‘take over’, we obtain quotes on your behalf from appropriate suppliers - often reputable companies whom we have worked with before.

We throw inspiring ideas into the pot, and we also guide you based on our experience of knowing what works ‘best’!

We do not take any commission from suppliers - we work on your behalf to get the best arrangements in place from both a practical and financial viewpoint. We charge a fee for our services which includes all anticipated travel costs as well as miscellaneous sundries, so there are no surprises!

Why post a picture of Uncle Bulgaria you may wonder? Well this is just one example of how far we will go to meet our clients dreams and wishes.

It was a pleasure to organise this Best of British summer family party, where guests arrived dressed in a multitude of outfits from The Spice Girls, to Mrs Thatcher, Bojo and Ali G! A lot of guests stayed in a hotel nearby and we organised a vintage 1949 bus to pick them up early evening and bring them to the party. The driver in those days sat in his own secluded compartment away from the passengers, so we needed to find a ‘conductor’ to welcome the guests onboard. My client asked me to make sure it was a Womble - just to really get the party theme going!

No detail is too small for us!!!

40th BIRTHDAY PARTY BY A RESERVOIR: Now that the summer season has come to an end, one of the most enjoyable Autumnal jobs is to go through all the photos from every summer event - which occasionally results in me seeing details which I didn’t even know had happened on the actual day! It’s also a wonderful way to relive every celebration without walking another 25,000+ steps!!!

On this occasion, my client brought me on board having booked her tent and caterer but with lack of precious time she needed assistance with co-ordinating all suppliers, managing the finer details of her birthday party which always elevate any event, such as having more than enough candles, some effective lighting inside and out, hiring in trees and shrubs to decorate the interior, getting personalised t-shirts printed up for all catering and bar staff, menus, enough casual seating (which she created from pallets), wraps/throws for warmth to name but a few items.

Additionally, with the tipis on her land being set very close to their reservoir, she was keen to ensure that that was a spectacle rather than a dark mass of water!

After much research and presenting various options (including the idea of a tethered lit up hot-air balloon being suspended above the water), we had an eye-catching illuminated display of laser lights and different styles of fireworks at intermittent intervals over the water throughout the evening!

The whole party, with 150 guests, had a supercool vibe! Luscious amounts of oysters were served alongside canapés followed by a range of curries. A wide range of cocktails were served, many in mirrored discoball cups!! The sun came out which was a total thrill after an appallingly windy and wet set up - and meant that all guests could enjoy a truly amazing sunset in a very special corner of Suffolk!

ENGAGED?! Congratulations! Exciting times ahead as you begin your wedding planning journey!

But if you’re feeling nervous about decision making, don’t know where to begin with creating a budget and find the whole responsibility of organising such an occasion overwhelming, please do get in touch. VENUES: Much of our work takes place in marquees as that is where clients need the most help, with guidance on choosing the most appropriate structure for their celebration, as well as advice on generators, power, loos and lighting etc. However we always LOVE working in venues and here’s a throwback to a three day wedding at Somerleyton Hall, Suffolk. The Winter Garden was set up for lunch in an informal style with gingham ribbon tied napkins and textured tablecloths. The night before we served dinner to guests at the same long table for about 90 guests (and yes I know the chairs weren’t straight at the very moment in time that I took this photo) - they had just been used for the Ceremony in the Orangery!

It was a full on experience for everyone concerned with a wide range of activities including guests pimping the Wellington Boots I had ordered for all of them followed by wearing them to do a Scavenger Hunt around the grounds and into the Maze, guests learnt to Salsa dance, we organised Casino tables, some singing waiters joined the party and the final activity to clear any sore heads - or make them worse - was a Samba session!

THANKYOU following one of my most refined and theatrical lunch parties of all time!

One of the UK’s top outside caterers produced the magic, with the staff having a dress rehearsal before the guests arrived. The art of clothing the two long L shaped tables for +/-120 guests, how the tables were laid for just a few courses at a time, the exquisite range of glassware in which the carefully chosen wines were served……it was like a fairy-tale which I spent many an hour working on with my clients and suppliers of repute.

STUNNING AERIAL WEDDING DRAPES created by Rosie, for her own wedding on the family farm and which I had the honour of managing on the day!

Together with her family, she created this visually stunning installation with hundreds of meters of fabric draped horizontally and vertically throughout their grain store and WOW what an awesome effect! The entrance was softened with curtain style drapes making an even more dramatic entrance for guests once they came inside for dinner.

GRATEFUL CLIENTS: It’s an honour and privilege to be entrusted with organising each and every event; they are all tailor-made to suit our clients which is one of the many reasons that I love my profession - every day is different!

It’s so rewarding to reach the moment when ‘it all comes together’ and the first guest arrives!

It’s even more incredible when you receive an email with words such as this after the party; in this case it was a three day birthday party weekend where we organised everything from finding a venue for the main ‘gala’ dinner, liaising with caterers for three events, entertainment, production, stage, catering hires, recommendations of drinks quantities, transport for guests to and from their accommodation, Saturday activities in the locality such as high speed rib rides on the North Sea, e-biking, birdwatching and Clay Pigeon shooting and many, many other little details such as calligraphed place names etc etc.

DETAILS of a COUNTRY WEDDING: when you have a great photographer such as who searches out unique places such as this rustic sky blue doorway for a quick photo - you’re onto a winner!

We were involved with planning this wedding from the beginning with all the intricacies of obtaining marquee quotes, site meetings, changing the location of the marquee, getting the field topped and paths mown through the shoulder-height grass, to overseeing the build and managing the event.

The couple were infact already married a month or so prior to the big day, so they held a non-religious ceremony in the beautifully recently restored barn, with guests sitting on bales of straw covered with toning fleeces in pistachio, beige and ivory shades. Drinks were held adjacent to the natural swimming pool, which if you stay you are welcome to swim in. Meadow boxes of locally grown English country garden flowers adorned the end of each row of bales and jam jars of said flowers were hung on the back of chairs.

Guests meandered through the gardens to the sailcloth tent decorated with minute warm white fairy lights and sage, latte and ivory paper hanging lanterns swayed gently in the breeze in the roof space.

Blush pink linen hemstitched napkins tied with raffia, a buff place tag and a sprig of pink lavender were placed around the long wide tables. Tall willowy silver birch trees decorated with fairy lights towered over guests within the tent breaking up the vast expanse of ivory canvas.

Following dinner and some amusing speeches, Hannah whisked the happy couple off for sunset photographs before the band struck up and the service of cocktails began including ever popular zingy Palomas!

The celebrations continued with an informal lunch the following day.

INSPIRED EVENT MANAGEMENT: As a busy summer season of events draws to a close, I am returning to ‘the grid’ to bring you a wonderful range of photos taken at a huge variety of events from weddings and Corporate Events, to private parties - often lasting over several days, to some incredibly moving and emotional Memorial services. As always there are some clients for whom we sign NDA’s (Non-disclosure Agreements), or others who simply wish to keep their celebrations private. Throughout all the planning of every event, client confidentiality is of utmost importance.

For those of you who are new followers, this is me, Jenny Loyd, owner of Inspired Event Management. I have been working at the quality end of the hospitality industry for over 30 years (wow - it really doesn’t seem that long - and I still love it as much as ever!). I have a huge list of tried and tested suppliers both in East Anglia and nationwide, trusted staff, and loyal colleagues in the industry with whom I enjoy working on a regular basis.

Most clients come to us for full event planning and management though we do work on smaller projects/specific events too at certain times of the year. We charge a fee for our professional services and do not take commission; we are always working on behalf of our clients to get the best arrangements in place both financially and practically. We will guide you over the months of planning, obtaining quotes, explaining their idiosyncrasies and generally ensuring that the whole process is as pleasurable and stress-free as possible. We can oversee set up which can often take the best part of a week - sometimes longer, and we manage the event on the day(s).

Our Story

With 20 year’s experience of working at the quality end of the hospitality industry, we listen to client's wishes, work within proposed budgets and create dreamy personalised weddings, vibrant parties and corporate events, in marquees or venues. We are particularly experienced at working in a whole variety of marquees and tent structures. Throughout the planning process we liaise with contractors and work on your behalf to create the event of your dreams. We also organise Charity Events, Golf Days, corporate occasions and larger events such as the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival which we managed for 8 years.

The company is run by Jenny Loyd who originally worked in London prior to moving to Suffolk twenty years ago. She used to be part of the team organising the catering at Buckingham Palace, which also involved travelling to all the Royal Residences in the UK and on HMY Britannia. She then worked for Mustard Catering and Lorna Wing Ltd - two of London’s top caterers. Since then she has been based in East Anglia planning events both here and in London - and being familiar with suppliers in both places she is well placed to advise clients on how to create a truly memorable event for all the right reasons - and one which will be remembered for many, many years to come.
