I’m heartbroken at the news today that a dear friend, mentor and inspiration passed away last night.

Rick, you were a friend I’m honoured to have known. You were the first person to reach out to me when I started on the bubbling road 10 years ago, and we became friends almost instantly. And for that, I’m truly thankful.

Your help, guidance, inspiration, and encouragement were not just words but became a part of the very foundation of my career as a bubble performer. I am deeply grateful for your influence, and I know that without you, I would not be where I am today.

You were also a master of DIY bubbling props—a true innovator. Your influence extended far beyond just me. You shaped and inspired the entire global bubbling community, sharing your creations generously, not for recognition or profit, but simply for the joy of creating and helping others.

Many of your designs became indispensable in my early career when I couldn’t afford the ‘professional props.’ So I built your versions. To this day, I still use some of them. Each time I do, I will now smile and silently thank you for the joy and possibilities you brought into my bubbling life.

Rick, you leave an irreplaceable void within the bubbling community. While we will be the poorer for your absence, we are all the richer for having known you.

Your legacy of creativity, inventiveness, and, above all, your infectious joy and passion for bubbling will live on in our hearts and in every bubble we create. I know I and many bubblers around the world will be sending bubbles skywards tonight in your memory.

My love, thoughts, and prayers go out to Ivy, your families, your friends and the entire bubbling community.

I will miss you dearly. Rest in peace my friend.

Well, yesterday was exciting ... Minutes after coming offstage from Ladram Bay's show, I had a phone interview with Daniel Pascoe for BBC Radio Cornwall.

Exciting times .. and a great little chat about bubbles in general, how everyone can make bubbles, a little bit about my show and the AOIBA that I'm a founder member of.... and of course a challenge to everyone listening to their radio.
