Stunning Wedding Photography & Videography Captured Throughout The UK.

We're looking for a full time, permanent wedding video editor to join our growing business. Currently, we're capturing around 80 video weddings a year with the number expanding rapidly.

Your Role:
Editing a 7-10 minute cinematic highlight video (Highlight Cut) and a 45+ minute longer video to Include more footage from the day (Long Cut), including the full ceremony & speeches from the footage we've captured during the day.
While the idea of a long cut may sound daunting, we have a special workflow system in place which makes the editing take roughly the same amount of time as the highlight cut. This will all be explained in our training.
There will be footage taken from 1-3 cameras, audio from external mics during the ceremony & speeches with rough story-boarding to follow, however, you're free to have fun with it and mix things up, we love uniqueness!
To keep up with an ever-growing backlog, we'd request a one and a half day to two day turn-around for the highlight cut and a three day turn-around for long cuts. Each cut can take between 8-14 hours of editing.
We fully respect that each wedding day is unique and some may have more content than others so we promise to be fully reasonable with our turn-around expectations if needed.

- While the position is permanent and the hours are full time, we want to stress that once the work is complete, that's it! You'll be working from home so you're free to do with your time as you'd like.
- The workload is seasonal with the busiest months being April - October, meaning quiet winters, but with the added benefit of the pay being consistent and year-round. There will definitely be busy times in the summer, but also weeks in the winter without any work to complete whatsoever. We want our editors to love what they do and stay with us as we grow. Creating a good working environment is very important to us!
- This is a career position and we'd eventually love successful candidates to managing a team of editors in the future as we expand into associate photography & videography covering more and more weddings, however, this is optional.

Skills & Prerequisites:
- 1+ years of experience in video editing.
Experience with industry-standard programs with Premiere Pro as the preferred choice.
-(Optional but preferred) Previous experience with weddings or wedding videos.
-Access to reasonably fast internet (Unless you live local, in which we'd be happy to hand-deliver hard drives of footage)
-Good communication skills to understand the needs of each video.
-(Optional) Local to the South Wales Area.
-Time management skills to ensure videos are created within the deadline
-(Optional but preferred) Access to a reasonably fast computer
-(Optional but preferred) Availability to start immediately
-No other commitments that would interfere with the busy summer

Qualifications:
We do not strictly request nor require any previous qualifications to apply for this job, we'd never want to lock anyone out of the chance to break into the editing industry as I know a growing population are self-taught in the landscape of video editing. Training of our workflow will be fully explained to successful applicants.
Please provide as much portfolio as you have access to upon application as that will help us better select applicants for interviews. CV's are optional as getting to know you and your work are our top priority for selection.

Notes about the position:
Currently, there is a rather large backlog of videos from this summer, meaning this winter will be busier than others. You will have 10 days of paid time off over Christmas however.
Occasionally, we'll check in with you personally over Zoom to make sure that you're coping with the workload and enjoying the role. I will personally also be available to chat 7 days a week online with any questions about current tasks or general chat!
We understand that in previous positions that not having any work to do can be seen as unproductive or possibly un-needed. We definitely won't feel that way, however, so once you've completed all the tasks on the schedule, we won't pile on further work to keep you busy and definitely encourage you to take some personal time and relax!
