Final Preparations are well underway as we look to host our 20th Anniversary Party this Saturday!! 🎉🥂

We’ve been itching to announce our collaboration with JUST ONE Tree. For every silent auction prize sold, we now plant a tree.

JUST ONE Tree are a non-profit initiative planting forests both on land and in the oceans. They help to restore biodiversity and combat climate change by planting ‘the right trees in the right place’.

1. DO SOME BACKGROUND RESEARCH
Silent Auctions are a fantastic way to raise more funds for your chosen charity. With that said some auction companies pop up without the knowledge, experience and trustworthiness required. Remember your guests may win holidays to take a year or two down the line so you need to ensure your silent auction company will still be around to fulfil these!

2. CHECK OUT THEIR PRIZE OFFERING
It’s important that your silent auction prizes appeal to a wide range of guests so quality authenticated memorabilia of all genres along with a fantastic range of holidays and experiences is super important.

3. COMPARE THEIR RESERVES
High reserves on prizes means very little of the bid will actually go to the charity! Make sure you compare reserves and ensure the auction company are not being greedy. At Blue Monday we keep our reserves low to encourage more bids and ensure the charity make as much money as possible.

4. WILL THEY BE CHARGING YOU?
The answer should be NO! Our silent auction is a free, risk-free service. Even if (and this has never happened) we don’t sell anything, there is no charge to you. Our costs are built into the reserves, so we take the risk not you.

5. ASK WHY YOU SHOULD USE THEM
Ask the question! It’s important the auction supplier can prove their worth and why you should give them your business. Here at Blue Monday, we are lucky to still work with clients that have been with us since the beginning, so over 17 years!
Ask for testimonials and we’d recommend a face-to-face meeting, nothing better than knowing who you will be working with in person.

Our Story

After many years of working both on and off stage in the theatre, Rory realised that his passion for the ‘Show’ was what motivated him. He then spent the next 10 years working in the temporary structure business, working on some of the biggest and most prestigious events the World over. In 2003 Rory decided it was time to go it alone and use his talents to deliver complete projects for clients and that was when Blue Monday was born.

We develop inspirational event concepts and build client relationships that only come through the personal service we provide and having that genuine desire to go the extra mile.

Our Vision is to become the East Midlands event company of choice in the next five years.
