Here's to everyone collecting GCSE results today. Wishing you well. Celebrate even small wins!
Generally, the first place you think of to start planning your wedding is a wedding fayre, but actually you should start by talking to each other about your dream wedding: the size, style and budget. It helps the vendors understand your requirements and it helps to prevent overwhelm for you.
To get you to the right place for attending your next wedding fayre, why not download our planning guide, created by the members of

When we talk of Wedding stationery, don't forget that it's more than your invitations, it includes all your on the day items too, menus, place cards, table names/number, and other signage
Are you sure you are choosing the right suppliers? How would you know? Consider these points before you confirm any bookings.
Considering I live in a city, I'm surprised at the wildlife we get in the garden. We very often get one Woodpecker, but I've never seen a pair before. I watched them gor far too long, but what a beautiful way to waste time!
How do you start to design wedding invitations?
This is a question I was asked recently.
There are two starts depending on whether I have a client brief or just looking to add to my portfolio samples. The brief is already a vision from the couple, which by questioning and listening carefully, I develop a design, through style, colour, cut design and paper patterns, fitting them to the guidelines of that brief. Then it basically follows the format of the next...
The second often begins with a thought in my head or an image in my mind that has been inspired by something I've seen or an idea that I've previously scribbled down. I then take a scrap of paper, cutting, tearing, and folding into what I see in my mind's eye. If it looks like it might work, I then look at how many sheets of card I'd need to make it... too many, it becomes too expensive, and it's back to the drawing board. Progressing I try patterned paper, embellishments, die-cuts and inserts, in scrap card and paper. I then cost it from my supplier price lists. Eventually, through a process of trial error and experience of what will or won't work.
And end up with a beautiful invitation (and matching on-the-day stationery for your wedding
I'm working on some new designs, ready for the next Wedding Fayre season.
Why is wedding stationery expensive?
If you're content to buy mass-produced wedding stationery, then it isn't; but you usually compromise on quality and design. To put it into perspective, this is what you pay for when you opt for Designer or Bespoke products:
I'm always talking about your wellbeing for you r wedding planning and your Big Day, and recently, I googled 'WeddingWell-being' in case I'd missed anything. I'm happy to say I hadn't, and most is common sense, but when we're under stress, common sense often fails us.
The 3 most common factors to having a good state of mind, and ultimately skin and soul, are to hydrate, sleep, and exercise. The very same three things I always start with for you. Think about these wedding well-being cards, to help you stay in great shape.
Wedding signage is changing. Signs va been tried on wood, on mirrors and on card and corex, but now we are sering a shift to Acrylic for table number, welcome signs, Order of the Day and Seating plans. Bold lettering on coloured or clear backgrounds, are set to rule in the 24/25 wedding season.

Congratulations to F & C on their marriage today. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness
Today, I will be delivering the Order of the Day sign to the Grange at Winterbourne for the wedding of F and C tomorrow. I have loved making their wedding stationery, and they have been a lovely couple to work with. Wishing them a great day and a happy future together
It's a British thing to talk about the weather. But I love the heat and the sun; the problem is... working in it. It has been a hard slog decluttering my studio. It's airless in there, but last night's rain has freshened it up, and I'm ready to get cracking again.
Isn't it lovely when you have a clear-out. I have quite a large area in my studio where I keep lots of printed and 'different' papers. But it had become so over-run that I rarely used them. And, tbh, I'd forgotten half of what was there. It was no mean feat, believe me. But, my motivation to complete the clear-out quickly was knowing that this great big bag of papers, card and stickers, is going to be making it's way to an orphanage, and will be helping underprivileged children.

When is the best time to order our wedding invitations?
It's a question I get asked a lot. But to be honest, there is no finite answer.
So here are a couple of tips:
Collected the printing for F and Cs Order of the Day. Now, to decorate and mount and decorate!
I mentioned these some time ago, but I have now had the first drafts back, and they're looking good. A bit of tweaking required still, but I'd love a show of hands. There are 60 words of wisdom to help with your wedding planning mindset and well-being. They will, hopefully, be available soon in 2 editions of 30 cards each: Pack 1 and Pack 2.
They will be around £19 per Pack (reduction for two packs)
Let me know what you think 🤔?

Did you know, I began my working life as a knitwear designer? But neither of my (adult) daughters can knit. But recently, one of them asked me to teach her. She's doing well, and to ensure I'm with her, and to encourage her, I've been knitting the same project....
Any guesses? Watch this space.
After a few days away, I usually look forward to starting the new week when we get back, but I actually started to relax for once and would have loved to extend it to another week. So here I am back to laundry and see what I left behind.
YEY! It's Friday! Happy weekend. Just one more week and 2 days till the Wedding Open Day at the Hare & Hounds, nr. Westonbirt. Pop along and see us there! Cakes, Entertainment, Photographer, and of course WeddingStationery, amongst others

Youve taken time to do your research and style. You now know what you need and pretty much who you'd like to do it for you. But STOP! right there. Unless there is a danger of not getting who you want on your chosen day, take time away from thinking to ask yourselves these questions. I could save your budget, your stress levels, and arguments. You need time to consider whether they will give you what you want, could you work with them happily? Are they answering your questions satisfactorily? Do their values align with your own? Ensure there are no hidden costs. How to address your wedding invitations both inside and out. On your invitation you should always name the recipients. If you have just 'you' that can be mis-read. In English we use the word 'you' as a singular and as a plural pronoun. If more than one person lives at the address, the only way they're going to know is by the addressee on the envelope. In every case, envelopes should be addressed to all recipients. This avoids plus ones you don't know, and offspring no longer living at home, who should have an invitation in their own right #weddingstationery #stationeryhowto #howtoaddressweddinginvitations #wedding #weddinginvitations #weddinginspiration #weddingideas #bridetobe #weddinginspo #weddingplanning #invitations #bride #stationery #invitation #weddinginvite #engaged #weddingdetails #weddings #weddingday #savethedate #custominvitations #invitationdesign #graphicdesign #weddingdesign #weddingstyle #waxseal #handmade #bridetobe #groomtobe
Will this be expected for your wedding day? Don't despair, turn it into a fun thing. Ask you photographer to organise your photos in ndom places/poses. Find games to play in the rain, tell your guests to bring wellies and brollies, hire another small room if budget allows, for lots of indoor games. Bride and bridesmaids could wear white wellies Groom's could wear theme coloured wellies, or wild spots, stripes, animal prints. Whatever you choose to do, make it fun and a planned part of your wedding #funweddingideas #welliesatweddings #outdoorsigns #outdoorsignage #weatherresistantsigns #weatherresistantsignage

Spotlighting the most common (and avoidable) mistakes when choosing your Wedding Stationery. Here are short answers as to how or why these mistakes should be rectified. 1. Paper goods are expensive and weigh heavy, so you only want one lot of postage to be included in you final invoice. 2. Your stationer is human they can make spelling mistakes/typos. This will reflect on you as much as them. 3. Don't offend your guests by misspelling their names, or send them to the wrong venue because you've put House instead of Hall. 4. Samples allow you to feel the quality and value for money. 5. Avoid high summer when people are away, or in the bulk of Christmas card deliveries when they're likely to be misplaced. Don't leave it too late for guests to make arrangements (especially if marrying abroad. 6. Be sure to give a definite RSVP date. Otherwise, when your caterers need numbers, you'll be chasing people adding to your stress levels. 7. Be clear on Names (venue, etc.), Postcodes/directions, Dates, Times, Who is included in the invitation... 8. Giving Thank You cards is a matter of etiquette and courtesy. Don't forget them. They don't need to be budget-busters! My final word: Don't stress. If you're worried or unsure feel free to Inbox or contact me: [email protected] #yourweddibfstationerychoices #bridetobe #groomtobe
