Building up to Click Clack at Bannerman's next Tuesday 11th. Guitar maestro Graeme Stephen will be playing solo, but here he is playing with other humans. Also featuring Fabsville Five (bassist Dave Conway and several relatives), and M.T.Hat 5 (formerly Mike Travis'EH15) giving us some world jazz.

Looking forward to playing the first full gig with M.T. Hat 5 at Click Clack at Bannerman's on Tues 11th June. Formerly Mike Travis' EH15, we played a lot in the 90s, and got back together briefly for Mike's memorial in February. Graham Muir on guitar, Jon Beales on keyboards, Steve Kettley on saxes, plus new members Ron Ballin on bass and Mike's brother Des Travis on drums. Jazz, funk and world rhythms! The next Click Clack will be at Bannerman's on Tuesday 11th June. It will feature the first full gig in 28 years by the former "Mike Travis EH15", now renamed "M.T. HAT 5". The band re-united briefly at Mike's memorial in February, and enjoyed it so much they decided to carry on. The line-up now is Graham Muir (guitar), Steve Kettley (saxes), Jon Beales (keyboards), Ron Ballin (bass) and Des Travis (drums).
Also performing will be ace guitarist GRAEME STEPHEN, and FABSVILLE FIVE, bassist Dave Conway's group boasting four more Conways!

The next Click Clack ( #120) will be on Tues 11th June at Bannerman's. It will feature the first full gig by the quintet EH15 for 28 years! We reformed to play at the memorial for our leader/drummer Mike Travis in February, with his brother Des on drums, and new bass player Ron Ballin. Still there are original members Graham Muir (gtr), Jon Beales (keys) and me, Steve Kettley (saxes). 90s jazz/rock revitalised for 2024 and beyond. Also solo guitar from GRAHAM STEPHEN, and bassist Dave Conway playing with several family members as the FABSVILLE FIVE!

I have every issue of The Wire, from the first, published in 1982, to the current one, number 482. In fact I was asked by the founder of the magazine, Anthony Wood, to take 25 copies of issue #1 to Scotland - I was driving the trio of flautist James Newton, cellist Abdul Wadud and pianist Anthony Davis around at the time.
I'm just about to put them in storage, unless anybody wants them, or has a suggestion?

Great evening of music last night at Bannerman's - it was indeed Click Clack 119! Wacky songs and beats from MOTHER SUPERIOR AND THE WHEREWITHAL; meditations on early Soft Machine from CHINWAG #9 (Jon Shaw and me); and TAJWIZZTRIO with a veritable pot-pourri of styles from Hendrix to the theme from Coronation Street! Our trademark mix as usual!

Click Clack next Thursday 14th! Last on will be TAJWIZZTRIO, led by legendary Edinburgh guitarist Taj Wyzgowski. Taj has worked with (among others) John Martyn, Bonnie Raitt, Deacon Blue, Daryl Hall, Jack Bruce & Jimmy Ruffin. Joining him will be Nico Bruce on bass and Jim Walker on drums. Not to be missed!

One week to go! The Master Planners (including Steve Kettley, Stuart Allardyce and Des Travis of Orange Claw Hammer) pay homage to sax guru Pharoah Sanders. Plus pianist Elchin Shirinov's trio. It's going to be a great night!

American saxophonist Pharoah Sanders - a disciple of Coltrane but a musical giant in his own right and one of the founding fathers of spiritual jazz.

Tickets moving nicely for this one, Bannermans Bar on December 4th to commemorate 30 years without FZ..... hard to believe its been that long, but also hard to believe its been 5 since we marked the 25th at the Hug and Pint in 2018*. Since it's a special evening, we'll have a few guests jumping up throughout the show to make things a bit more interesting than normal!

Click Clack last night - hypnotic grooves from Kafka's Earplugs, ethereal and moving songs from Susanna Orr Holland, and powerful compositions and improv from Trio Velcro. Susanna poached some members from the other two groups for her final number. An eclectic mix of sounds, styles and cultures in the true Click Clack tradition.
