We are busy behind the scenes getting ready to Pop Up this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for KidsFest at CarFest and we are super excited to meet lots of villagers and their families to welcome them to our Art Studio where we have crafts to decorate, pebbles to paint and we are making pots of slime. If you are coming then we hope to see you there!
It’s a busy week for us this week starting tomorrow morning where we are popping up outside the shops in the village of Penwood for the lovebasingstoke team to provide free role play in our construction site and free crafts to make and take home with our clay hedgehogs and pebble painting.
Then this weekend we are popping up at CarFest with our Art Studio and Slime making! We hope to see you this week in the village.

It’s a busy week ahead for our team as we head into the last full week of term! We have two end of term parties first off for a Toddler Group tomorrow and then for our friends at Rainbow Nursery on Wednesday before we head to party next weekend with our birthday child on Saturday and then Becky and the team are setting up at Raver Tots on Sunday in Prospect Park in Reading. We can’t wait to join the fun and make sure all the littler ravers have fun in our village!

I just don’t seem to be able to remember my own thoughts recently my head is too full and during a conversation if something pops in my head and then if I try and keep listening I’m struggling because I’m trying to remember my idea by repeating what I want to say over and over, or I’ve lost it! It’s gone… and then I’m frustrated!

A fun social in Newbury and I would thoroughly recommend the canal boat trip we did as it’s one I intend to take with the family too… they have pirate days in the summer apparently! High Score Arcade was also lots of fun with everything included once you were inside I think it’s also on my list for the summer holidays!

We offer 4 types of wedding package:
💍 Hire of our garden games: delivered in advance and collected the next day for your venue
👶🏻 Nanny service: 1:1 childcare for children at the wedding perhaps the bride and grooms children or another member of the wedding party. This can be a nanny to be with the child during the day or just a babysitter to sit with them when they sleep towards the end of the evening. As little or as much as you need. We will spend time meeting the child in advance if required and make sure we know all their likes and dislikes
🎉 Wedding Entertainment: set up in a corner of the room or a side space that adjoins the celebrations so the children are free to come and go. Our team will keep them entertained, play games, do crafts and engage in play using our role play areas, games, toys and crafts. This can include both indoor or outdoor activities. We can add on extras if required included glitter tattoos and colouring books, extra crafts and prizes for games.
🎉 Wedding Crèche: A full crèche where children are signed in and out of our care in a separate space nearby to the celebrations. We run our crèche to Ofsted ratios and will take care of the children completely so that your guests can relax and unwind and we keep the children busy using our full range of toys and games. We can even provide a quiet space for them to tuck down and sleep when it all gets too much!

Children love role play because they want to be just like you!
It’s simple really, they watch you do the shopping, care for the baby, visit the hairdressers, the doctors or meet friends at the cafe and then in our village they pretend to do the same! The best bit? The older they are the more like you they become! I’ve seen 7, 8 even 10 year olds make awesome mini mes as they become demanding customers, super helpful shop assistants and considerate nursery assistants! If your child loves role play then there is no limit to the age they love our village and our kits can be hired to help immerse them in their play.

A big thank you to the lovely children and staff from Rainbow Nursery for having me along to play again today. I so enjoy my monthly sessions with these guys and getting to see how much the children change over the year. Soooooo…. You may have noticed we have been a little bit lopsided recently and a lot quieter than usual. Well there was a very good reason for that and. As you may be aware we are a double act, husband & wife team and following a chest infection and hospitalisation for Frank in December he was told he had a leaking heart valve and he had to rest and await major surgery. About a month ago he had his operation and was subsequently in intensive care and on the high dependency unit for a while in London before being transferred back to Basingstoke and he finally made his way home on Father’s Day much to the relief of our 4 children. We are so glad to have him home but man oh man it has been a journey! There is still a great deal of recovery ahead of him so do bear with us while he gets back on his feet. However do not panic as I am very much still here and running things singlehanded!! I’m out and about running parties and delivering kit hires and visiting our regular nursery and school sessions, I just haven’t been shouting about it on our socials as I really didn’t have time to focus on that side of the business… sorry! I will undoubtedly pay the price now for being quiet as the social media algorithms won’t like me but we are here… we are open and we are running events for you! More than that we are planning for an action packed summer with sessions we are running for Basingstoke Council and of course not forgetting that we are attending Car Fest at the end of August. We have also been busy working on a really big project that we are looking forward to sharing with you in due course so stay tuned! 🫶🏻🤞🏻 Thank you to everyone who has known about what we have been going through and has been so incredibly supportive of us as a family and our little business. I ran out of time to share with you what we got up to yesterday at Rainbow Nursery so here is a sneak peek… a day late! We had great fun smashing the ice to free the dinosaurs and creating the dinos lunch in the mud kitchen but I have to say the swamp making way my favourite and I’m just sorry I didn’t manage to get any pictures of the finished swamp in all its muddy glory to share with you!! It was quite an impressive mess to clean up after that’s for sure! 😂 I’m glad the children had fun and they certainly knew lots about the different dinosaurs and had some really good discussions with me about how they could free them from the ice and what might work so there was lots and lots of fantastic learning going on for them too! A favourite of mine was when they learnt that whisks are not very good for bashing ice… the ice gets stuck inside the whisk! 🤣 Thanks for having me to play, I can’t wait for next time. Welcome to our new page for Pop Up Play Village Reading. We are running play sessions and parties for children from 0-8 years old in and around the Reading area. Our role play village is designed by a qualified teacher to provide high quality play experiences for children that are both educational and fun! Our role play village features a cafe, supermarket, vets surgery, hospital, construction site, baby nursery, library, art studio and outdoor explorers areas. We pop up in village halls, community centres for our play sessions with our ‘real’ cafe providing hot and cold drinks and snacks, all competitively priced. As an Usbourne book seller you will also often see our Usbourne book stall pop up at sessions ready to be browsed.
For our parties we aim to take the hassle out of organising a party with invitations, entertainment, catering and party bags all provided, we even take the photos for you! We can pop up in a hall or even in your garden, if there is space! We can set up a party with our role play village but alternatively with bush craft activities as an outdoor themed party, there is lots of fun to be had!
We are available to be hired by schools, pre-schools and nurseries to run sessions for children and offer to run tailor made sessions or under the topic ‘when I grow up’. Our qualified early years teacher will take the children on a journey of discovery into what jobs adults do and what they involve in our play village.

Our staff can come to your setting and run these sessions on a regular basis. Alternatively we can come to your business and set up activities for your customers as part of our corporate hire packages.
Are you getting married? Looking for something to occupy the children? We are also available to hire as a wedding creche. Our staff are fully DBS checked and first aid trained. We can tailor make a package to suit you ranging from 1:1 care to a drop in creche, held in a side room at the venue. We can bring our selection of toys and games for both indoor or outdoor play and can adapt this to suit the ages of children at your reception.
