Each year she only takes on a limited number of weddings and she never books more than one wedding per weekend meaning she is exclusive to you on your wedding weekend and the days running up to it. A wee hello from Chile 🇨🇱

Many of you will know that I have relocated to the Southern Edge of the World but some of you won't have heard the news and I thought I better post a quick update.

I've temporarily closed The Blue Petal as we've moved to Santiago with my husband's job for a few years but when we do return to Yorkshire I hope to get back to creating wedding flowers.

In the meantime I'll be keeping up to date with all the goings on in the world of floristry and I'll be checking out all the beautiful creations of my fellow wedding florists.

If anyone is getting married and needs some advice or recommendations I can still be contacted by email at [email protected].

🌿💙🌿 SOMETHING BLUE 🌿💙🌿

The 'something blue' tradition comes from the old English rhyme 'Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a sixpence in her shoe'.

If you would like to include this classic wedding tradition but don't want to go over the top, then adding a few barely blue flowers to your table centres is a nice subtle way of having 'something blue'.

TOP TIP TUESDAY - TOP TABLE WEDDING STYLING

If your wedding top table is a long wide oval table like the one at Laura & Ryan's summer wedding, a wide fresh floral runner of mixed flowers in clusters of glass bottles and bud vases of different heights and shapes is a great choice of wedding table decoration for this style of top table.

LAST MINUTE WEDDING FLOWERS

Here's a little peek at Helene's wedding bouquet from a few weeks ago. It contained a gorgeous mixture of roses, freesia, tulips, astrantia, lisianthus, carnations, gypsophila and eucalyptus.

It's not often I get 2 days notice (on a Sunday morning) to create wedding flowers but it was 2 good friends who were having a low key secret wedding. Aren't they lucky to have me as a friend? 😇

DID YOU KNOW? 🤔

The Kangaroo Paw plant gets its name from its tubular flowers which are often red in colour, feel furry and are shaped just like a kangaroo's paw, hence the name.

It's a great filler flower to add a touch of quirkiness to your wedding and it always creates a talking point.

NEW BEGINNINGS 🥂🎉💕

Happy new year, I hope you all had a chance to rest and recharge your batteries over the festive period. And most of all I hope all my 2021 brides and grooms enjoyed their first Christmas as married couples.

No, it's not the famous diva from The Muppet Show, it's the gorgeous Miss Piggy rose.

With her delicate two tone petals in shades of coral pink and peach, she was the perfect rose for Laura & Ryan's colourful summer wedding in Yorkshire 🥂.

Today's Friday flower fix is one of my classic round bouquets captured in this gorgeous photo of Rob and Rosie by DJM Photography 💖. Rosie's beautiful ivory and blush pink bouquet featured a mixture of duchesse de nemours peonies, white avalanche roses, sweet avalanche roses, mylenna roses and alpe d'huez roses and according to the bride it smelled amazing!

If only photos could capture the sweet scent of peonies, now that would be magic 😊.
