As a calligrapher, I find it quite fun to trial lots of different surfaces, it doesn't just have to be paper! I also like to explore more unusual ideas for place settings and even incorporate them into favours for the guests. For the Sami Tipi Outdoor Wedding Show at the weekend, I chose to showcase two options to complement the beautiful autumnal colours of Lesley's styling. These were ceramic white pumpkins and rust coloured card, cut in the shape of Oak leaves!

I do always practice a "less waste" approach to my wedding stationery and I enjoy creating signage that reflects my couples' personalities. The fabric sign was hand painted with First Dance song lyrics. It acts as a lovely alternative to a welcome sign and can ultimately be used as a piece of artwork to treasure long after the wedding day itself.

Get to know me a bit more....
The lyrics are from our own wedding First Dance, which is Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. It was the perfect song for us - Joe is a heavy metal rocker and I am absolutely not (we are chalk and cheese in so many ways!) This song is one of Metallic's calmer pieces (!) and the lyrics are just perfect 💖

It's getting into events season now for me, to offer in store personalisation with either calligraphy or engraving. Something that will never get old for me is seeing the delight on people's faces when they see their purchases personalised!

Oh my goodness I only went and won Wedding Stationer of the year for the East Midlands last night! Wow thank you for all your messages from those that have seen on my stories, I have woken up absolutely beaming this morning 🥰

Huge thanks to everyone who took the time to vote, this means so very much to me! It means everything that I get to do my passion every single day. Being self employed is so very much harder than I ever imagined but oh my goodness this makes it sooooooo worth it!

Sooooo..... this just happened! Eeeek!! I won Wedding Stationer of the year for the East Midlands and it took a while for my legs to stop shaking!

How is it already nearly 2 weeks since the Creative Craft Show at the NEC! I absolutely love being at this event with . It was a busy 3 days, teaching 12 workshops to up to 20 people but wow it was incredible. The stand out moment for me was a lady who came to the workshop a little bit unwillingly, because her friend wanted to do it. She fell in love and ended up going home with loads of kit to keep practicing at home! What a turnaround, she was so surprised!

I absolutely love to teach and pass on my absolute passion for calligraphy. Not just how pretty it looks, but the sense of calm it brings whilst you're doing it. It's also fabulous to see people's progress across the course of the session.

On Friday night I was back teaching at the gorgeous too and I'm pleased to tell you I will once again be there on 30th November! My bauble workshop will include learning calligraphy followed by decorating your own baubles. The class is on a Saturday morning and starts at 10am. There is a link on the events section of my website and also in my stories for the next 24 hours. Hope to see some of you there

I am so in love with this colour palette for a modern, relaxed and bohemian feel. Nudes and biscuity colours teamed with the arch shape created the theme throughout this stationery and signage.

This is an example of my "Classic Package" with some additional extras. All is explained within my brochures which can be downloaded from the weddings section of my website.

I am totally blown away by everyone's generosity for our forthcoming Community Project. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

For those that don't know about the project, a group of local artists are getting together next week to paint beautiful murals on the walls at St Mary’s Birth Centre, Melton Mowbray. We are raising money to pay for our materials and any left over will go towards buying new frames and perhaps even some new furniture!

Hello there, I’m Vicky and I live in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire with my husband Joe and our two dogs Eddie and Derek. In 2017 I started my handwriting business “InvitingWriting”.

I offer to hand-write anything, including (but not limited to) invitations, envelopes, name cards, signage and table plans. I’ve also made song lyric pieces and personalised “on the day you were born” prints. For something a little different, I love sign writing on mirrors too!

I love a challenge so if you want it writing, give me a try!

In early 2018 I joined the Leicestershire Calligraphers and am proud to be able to offer a variety of different styles which you can see in my work. I offer simple hand writing, embroidery, Modern Calligraphy and also now Art Deco style calligraphy.
