Given the dreadful weather forecast for Saturday, we were anticipating a wet and dreary day. But what a surprise! Yes, there were a few brief showers, but there were also substantial dry spells, and the sun even made an appearance from time to time to dry the track.
Deciding to have just one practice run paid off too, enabling us to offer no fewer than 5 competition runs, which we suspect was the first time at Barbon in over 60 years.
There was a great atmosphere in the paddock throughout the event, and with hardly any 'incidents' during the day, we hope everyone enjoyed their visit and will be back on the hill on 19th July.
Once again, a big thank you to our ever-patient marshals, without whom the event couldn't have taken place.
As usual, the results will appear on the LMC website shortly.
If you attended the event, please let us know what you thought of your visit. If you took photos of the event, please share them here too!
The results for this and previous events are on our website: www.liverpoolmotorclub.com/barbon-hillclimb

We reset and go again on Saturday 19th July, why not join us entries available on www.rallies.info and spectator tickets from ticketsource.co.uk/barbon-hill-climb.

Entries are a little quiet so far and we could do with more competitors for this event.

Just go to www.barbonhillclimb.co.uk for more info about this spectacular venue and its friendly events.

The entry list is now closed and we have 92 entries for Saturday's Barbon Speed Hillclimb with a superb variety of cars taking part. We may lose one or two due to mechanical issues, but it will still be a great day on the hill.

Will anyone beat the hill record? That's unlikely, but many drivers will be attempting to break the record for their class.

Will you be there to see the action?

The first of two practices commence at around 09:15 and apart from a 45-minute break for lunch, the action should continue right through until 16:30 or even later.

Adult admission is just £10 at the gate (most cards accepted), or £8.50 in advance from the official Barbon ticket-line: www.ticketsource.co.uk/barbon-hill-climb

Well, that was an interesting day at the Barbon Hillclimb yesterday. Enormous thanks must go to our wonderful marshals who endured 'challenging' weather conditions all day.
Thanks too to our competitors who were confronted with less than perfect ground conditions in the very soggy paddock after heavy rain in the days leading up to the event.
Sadly, the excess of moisture created issues with the timekeeping system, resulting in delays that led to us declaring an end to the proceedings after just two practice and two competition runs.
We hope you are all now drying out and managing to clean the accumulated 'essence of Barbon' from your vehicles.

We'd love to welcome you all back for our 13th July event which, of course, will be on a fine, sunny, hot day! (It will, won't it?!!!)
Thank you so much for your understanding and forbearance. It was great to see so many of you back on the hill - spectators too!

It may be the shortest hillclimb in the UK, but it is also one of the fastest and is incredibly popular with drivers who enjoy the challenge and unique atmosphere that the venue provides. What's it all about? It's simply an opportunity for registered competitors to drive their car as quickly as possible up the winding estate road of Barbon Manor, the aim quite simply being to get from the bottom to the top in the shortest possible time.

The events attract a wide range of cars, everything from 1930’s Austin Sevens, via late 20th Century classics, hot hatches and rally cars to the quickest single seaters in British Club Motorsport. With great scenery, the Barbon Hillclimbs are events not to be missed, whether you are competing or spectating. See www.barbonhillclimb.co.uk for more information.
