- Don't send invitations during December - they have an increased risk of being lost delayed in the Christmas post. They also end up on the mantle piece with the sea of Christmas cards & run the risk of being thrown away by accident in the New Year! ⁠

- If you have overseas guests attending, consider sending their invitations 6-9 months earlier to give them plenty of time to sort travel/accommodation. ⁠

Your journey to finding your perfect wedding suppliers starts here! ⁠

There’s a lot of choice out there & it can feel pretty overwhelming when you start searching for suppliers that match your vibe.⁠
⁠
Here’s my top tips for finding your supplier dream team without tearing your hair out:⁠
⁠
1. Before shiny object syndrome creeps in, pick your top 5 must haves for your wedding day & make them non-negotiable. Maybe a killer dress is a must or the overall aesthetic & styling of your venue fills you with excitement ; ) – These areas are where you want to focus your supplier search (& energy) first.⁠
⁠
2. Be honest with suppliers about your budget (& I know you’ve done your homework & created a budget so this step should be a breeze!) ⁠
Most suppliers will ask about the investment you wish to make to ensure they don’t waste your time (& theirs) presenting products/services that don’t fit your budget – It saves you time too because you won’t end up with an inbox full of quotations that aren’t aligned with the investment you wish to make. ⁠

Your journey to creating a stress-free guest list starts here!⁠
⁠
Creating your guest list can often be one of those wedding planning tasks that causes a lot of tension so here's my top tips: ⁠
⁠
1. Start by creating the VIP list – these are the people you absolutely cannot imagine getting hitched without. ⁠
⁠
2. Next create a second list of everybody else you’d love to invite & don’t hold back! Add partners, work colleagues, children (if you’d like little ones to attend). This will give you your max number of guests.⁠
⁠
3. Now take the second list & highlight your most treasured guests; you know the one’s, the fabulous people in your life that make you laugh uncontrollably, wouldn’t hesitate to buy you dinner, spark the best memories & have stood by your side through the wonderful times…& challenging ones. This list, along with your VIP list will give you your minimum number of guests. ⁠

" OMG do I need more than a 1st class stamp to send my my invites ? " ⁠⁠⁠
The weight of those deliciously tactile handmade papers, wax seals & envelope liners can often add up so before you post your invitations to guests, be sure to get the Post Office to check the weight & size for you so you purchase the correct postage. ⁠ ⁠
Alternately if you're pressed for time, leave the postage to me! I will calculate the right postage & apply the correct stamps so all you have to do is send your invitations when you're ready. ⁠ ⁠

"what happens if your van breaks down on the morning of my wedding"? ⁠

I recently got asked this question on a discovery call with a couple & it was a simple question to answer....⁠
⁠
Several years ago when the time came to purchase a Soirée van, buying a Land Rover Defender was a no brainer because 1) I had grow up with them & my Grandad had taught me how to fix the basics & change a tyre. 2)They are made of tough stuff & would breeze through icy roads/floods/snow storms on the way to the most remote wedding venues. 3) They look bloody awesome! ⁠

To this day 'Doreen the Defender' has never let me down on the big day but no vehicle is 100% reliable which is why we have 'Randy the Ranger' as a back up ; ) ⁠

I think wedding websites are brilliant (no honestly, I’m not being sarcastic for once)! I believe they play a great role in helping couples share additional info like links directly to accommodation recommendations, restaurant spots etc. however I draw the line at wedding websites riding solo without the gentle guiding hand of a physical wedding invitation. ⁠

WEDDING INVITATION TIP: ⁠

In the lead up to your wedding, guests start preparing themselves for your nuptials which often includes double checking the venue postcode/directions, ceremony time, dress code, directions to accommodation etc. When they haven’t received a physical invitation from you (that’s proudly displayed on their fridge obvs), they start the panic inbox search for your ‘E-invitation’. When they finally locate it (most often in the depths of their spam folder), guess what they do? Yep, thats right…they print it. And as for those guests who ‘don’t do emails’ & don’t have time to scramble through their inbox, they will be filling up your WhatsApp with allll the questions which is just what you need in the run up to your wedding. not. ⁠⁠
