🚐💨 Today, I had to replace two front tyres for our van.
Following our usual rule of thumb, I called three different places for quotes.
📞 The first answered like I’d interrupted a Netflix binge session 🙄—no interest, no questions, just a quick quote. I said I’d call back (but knew I wouldn’t).
📞 The second? Sounded like he really didn't’t want to be at work 😒. I carried on but wasn’t impressed.
✨ The third call restored my faith in customer service. The person answered warmly and professionally, with a friendly, helpful attitude.
Even though they weren’t the cheapest, I chose them because they made me feel valued.

A few pictures from Friday nights joint 18th Birthday lunch in Windlesham.
They enjoyed some canapes and a 2 course meal before later heading out.🥂💃

Friday night was interesting to say the least. We catered for a 60th 🎂birthday in Yateley.
Prior to the guests arriving for events, the hosts tend to give us a lowdown on the guests that we are expecting to receive.
Last week as we normally do, we were having that conversation with our client.
And she got to talking about a guest who is a butcher and obsessed about talking about meat. 🍖
To which of course we responded. Our butcher is fantastic and everyone always comments about how great our meat is.
We continue talking a little bit further and mentioned that our butcher is based in Maidenhead.
Our host responded and said so is their a friend.
We went on to ask what's the name of the company that he works for?
They couldn't quite remember, but we mentioned that they are a catering butchers.
Our client then said his name and much to our surprise. It was actually our butcher.
And so, our butcher had the pleasure of tasting his own produce in our Restaurant to you setting.
Thankfully all went well. David cooked the beef beautifully and the butcher was very happy with what was produced of his meat.
Six degrees of separation really is real.
And funny enough not long after writing this post. I took my boys to soft play this afternoon and bumped into the daughter of our host from Saturday's event.
I mean what are the odds?

Everyone is out here talking about their "word" for 2025. 😅
And while I have many—Fun, Gratitude, Perseverance, and Ease.
The one that truly stands out for me this year is EASE. 😍
Because let’s face it, life doesn’t have to be hard.
More often than not, we choose to make it hard.
Most of the time, it’s in the unconscious choices we make.
Like opting for online grocery shopping instead of spending an hour walking around a supermarket. 🛒
Or using Alexa to quickly answer questions rather than digging through your phone. 📱
And, of course, when it comes to planning special occasions at home—you want them to be memorable and easy to organise. Without having to do any of the work 🥂
So this year, I’m asking myself: What’s it going to cost me? 🤔
My🕐 time, energy🔋 or money💷?
Because if it costs too much of all three, it’s simply not worth it.

The thing that our clients love about bowl food is the flexibility to have it anywhere!
We recently held a bowl food events out in the garden.
Our client hosted the new batch of school parents and wanted a super relaxed and informal event.
We served canapes and mini individual bowls of food as they were casually seated.

Last Sunday we helped a family in Lyne, celebrate the engagement of their daughter.💍
It was a beautiful day in the most picturesque garden. 😍 The family waited 3 years to celebrate this wonderful occasion. So there was lots of catching up to be had! 🥰
Her mum would normally have done the catering herself and missed out on all the conversations.😔
One thing she did say was she didn't miss it. None of it! The shopping, prepping, cooking, serving and cleaning up! She loved every minute of being with her family. So much so, her daughter said it was soo good to see mum relaxed and enjoying herself.😍

About us
My name is David and my wife’s name is Chido, we are the owners of DaChi's Restaurant to You. Our name was born by coincidence when planning our wedding back in 2014. We needed to create a password for our wedding website and wanted it to be something that relates to us both. We decided to use the first parts of both our names and the name DaChi was born!
I have a degree in Culinary cookery and Chido in Hospitality Management. Together we have over 3 decades of both academic and practical experience within the hospitality industry, having both worked for some of the most prestigious hospitality providers. We have an undoubtable passion for great food and great service, so much so, that we have boycotted going out, due to being continuously disappointed and opted for staying in creating our own restaurant experience. We believe staying in, is the new going out!
Once we realised that there are many that feel the same as us, we asked ourselves what can we offer that is different and what do people want? And so, the ground work began on DaChi with our key emphasis being on making quality dining experiences that are personalised to you. We love to make people happy through great food and service. Nothing gives us more pride, than creating a dish from scratch, presenting it to a customer and then seeing and hearing them genuinely loving it!
So how do we take our restaurant experience to you I hear you say?
In a few boxes of course!!
It starts with our suppliers, we only use fresh and local, we choose quality over provenance. Your menu is built around your celebration, preferences and tastes. Your evening is designed by you, from timings, to how the order of service runs, you are in control. Our wines are from the UK’s leading wine specialists. We pair a selection of wines to compliment your menu choices. Unlike a restaurant or other caterers our price includes everything, no extra charges on water, bread or service charge.
The hardest part of our restaurant experience is making the reservation!! After that we do everything, no hassle of whose turn it is to drive, booking taxis or baby sitters, doing groceries or even doing dishes!
On the day of your event we will arrive, you can relax and do what you please while we work effortlessly transforming your dining room into a beautiful dining area to wow your guests. As your guests arrive, see their awe as they are greeted by their personal chef and waitress for the night. So, with a glass of prosecco and canapés your evening begins. It’s a recipe for a very memorable evening and at the end of it all we clear everything up and leave your kitchen and dining room as we found it. Your evening continues of course because you are already home!!
